RWWOKS Chapter 238

This entry is part 239 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Sixteen teams—exactly double the number in the original storyline.

Fang Bo took a deep breath and requested the list of teams from the organizers.

K’ Team, South Korea Team, Red Maru Team, Female Fighters Team, Fist of the Dragon and Tiger Team, Wolf Team, Psychic Warriors Team, and Fatal Fury Team.

These were the teams from the King of Fighters 2000 storyline.

Chizuru Kagura and Orochi had joined the Female Fighters Team and Fatal Fury Team, respectively, making a slight change to the original narrative. Other than that, the teams were largely unchanged.

What truly concerned Fang Bo, however, were the other participating teams.

He quickly skimmed through the list and couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly, realizing that several of these teams had some connection to him, whether directly or indirectly.

Jason Team: Featuring Jason, the General, the Fox Spirit, and Big Dog.

It was clear—this was the official representative team of the orphanage. He was especially interested in those three oddly familiar names.

Recalling the naming style of Seraphim, Fang Bo couldn’t help but inhale sharply.

“Could these three be Seraphim’s creations?”

If that were the case, Jason Team might very well become a formidable rival in his quest for the championship.

Of course, even without this suspicion, the two sides were already mortal enemies.

Skipping over those suspicious names, Fang Bo’s eyes moved to the next team: Clone Warriors Team.

Aside from the captain, Constantine, the other three names were completely unfamiliar to him, and they were clearly not from the local storyline.

“Seraphim couldn’t have created so many; these must be the lower-tier reincarnators.”

Next up were the Nest Team members, and they were bold enough to display their names openly.

Nest Team: Featuring Kula, K9999, Angel, and Foxy.

Nothing special here—just a typical rebel team. After the tournament started, they would likely turn against the Nests organization.

Following that was the Geese’s Lair Team, which Fang Bo was familiar with. In addition to the three usual members, this time it also included the wild Ryuji Yamazaki.

While he could more or less predict the previous teams, the next three were far more outrageous.

Southtown Team: Consisting of Billy, Iori Kyo, Hain, and someone who was obviously a reincarnator.

With Geese dead, these guys still dared to show up. Didn’t they fear Iori Yagami’s wrath and end up as corpses?

“They’re just a bunch of fodder teams. Maybe I can use them for some practice.”

With each victory earning 500 plot points, completing a streak of three victories would also grant extra achievement rewards.

“Thinking about it, this doesn’t sound so bad.”

Flying Thieves Team: Featuring Laughing Dragon, Chaos, and two unfamiliar names.

This was a team from the East, full of distinctive individual styles, but they likely appeared to track down someone specific.

That person was in the final team—the one that most surprised Fang Bo.

Shinjuku Enemy Team: Comprising Rugal, Aguirre, Geese, and Dragon.

Fang Bo didn’t know who Aguirre was, but the other three were major plot characters.

Two of them had died by his hand, and he couldn’t understand why they would suddenly be revived.

However, considering Rugal’s past, his resurrection seemed unsurprising.

As for Dragon, he was a member of the Flying Thieves Clan, and the team’s appearance was likely for his capture.

But what puzzled Fang Bo was why he was associating with Rugal and the others.

As the plot began to deviate from its original path, Fang Bo could only take it one step at a time.

“It seems these guys have been stirring up trouble in the King of Fighters world,” he thought.

The enemies might be holding some unknown trump cards, but fortunately, his team was in excellent shape.

As for the Ruthless Team, well, besides him, no one knew just how strong the other three members were. With their combined abilities, they could probably wipe out the entire Nests organization—let alone the fact that the enemy was full of rebellious individuals within.

The real opponents weren’t the Nest, but the reincarnators hidden inside. These were the true variables in his mission.

Stuffing the flyer into his pocket, Fang Bo, along with Goenitz, made their way to the hotel prepared by the organizers.

He had a hunch that the next three days might not be so peaceful.

Night, Southtown Harbor.

As soon as Iori Yagami set foot on the shore, he sensed the hidden danger lurking in the shadows.

His gaze shifted to a corner on his left, and in an instant, a purple flame spread outward.

“Come out!”

Scarlet Flame illuminated the night sky, casting eerie colors around him.

Under the glow of the sinister light, several large mechanical soldiers revealed themselves.

Seeing the Nest insignia on their bodies, Iori Yagami’s expression darkened. He casually tossed the shoulder bag in his hand, which flew several meters before landing perfectly on a bench.

In just a few moments, one of the mechanical soldiers was destroyed by Iori’s violent force.

Scarlet Flame burned furiously, even causing the internal parts of the machines to melt away.

Without asking for any explanations, Iori Yagami had only one goal: to personally destroy every piece of this scrap metal.

About ten minutes later, the site was left with nothing but a pile of smoldering parts. He didn’t even get his clothes dirty in the process.

It wasn’t until a figure appeared that Iori’s expression finally changed.

The woman with golden short hair was none other than his teammate, Mai Shiranui, whom he had accidentally killed.

The woman beside her was trying to hide her face, but Iori could still recognize her identity.

Mai, Shiranui—weren’t you both dead?” he asked.

Neither of the two members of the Eight Heroes responded. Instead, they attacked him together.

After a brief exchange of blows, Iori immediately realized something was wrong. The two were unnaturally stiff, almost as if they didn’t have any personal consciousness.

Their movements reminded him of the puppets he had seen in his teammate’s hands.

“…” He wasn’t interested in further communication. Since they wouldn’t answer, he wouldn’t mind personally killing them both again.

He had thought that these two could handle him, but it seemed Nest had underestimated him.

In reality, it wasn’t that the enemies had underestimated him—they had simply allocated more power to another side.

On the airport road to Southtown, Kyo Kusanagi’s car was struck directly by a missile.

Boom!

Amidst the fiery explosion, the driver was instantly sent to meet his maker, but the Strongest Fist slowly rose from the wreckage.

To deal with him, the orphanage had deployed a terrifying lineup.

Apart from the competitors still at the venue, nearly every other soldier had been dispatched, including a substantial number of Nest warriors.

Kyo Zero, the organization wants you back immediately. If you know what’s good for you, don’t resist.”

Hearing the name he least wanted to hear, Kyo’s calm face suddenly turned cold and ominous.

“He knows I’m a fake.”

Nest has clearly kept records on me.”

“Damn it, none of these bastards will leave here alive!”

Seeing him lower his head in silence, the leader of the group pulled out a controller and pressed the emergency stop button.

This device was meant to neutralize Kyo Zero’s movements in case of emergency.

The first use of it worked immediately, and the tension in the air relaxed.

Kyo Zero’s strength was nearly identical to the original’s. If a conflict occurred, they’d need to sacrifice at least a third of their forces to subdue him.

Being able to resolve it peacefully was naturally the best option.

“I thought you were all that great, but it seems you’re just like the other lab rats.”

Just as he was about to order his men to begin the recovery operation, he suddenly locked eyes with a pair of eyes filled with pure brutality.

Kyo Kusanagi, who was supposed to have lost his ability to resist, had somehow awakened, entering a fully demonized state.

“Why…”

“Why are you making me remember?!”

A terrifying aura filled the air, chilling the very atmosphere. Even the seasoned reincarnators couldn’t help but shudder.

“Shit, he’s lost control!”

“How can his aura be so terrifying?!”

“Quick, deploy the defensive shields!”

At that moment, an overwhelming pressure suddenly enveloped everyone.

In the daze, a massive black skull seemed to manifest before them. It felt as if the very messenger of hell had arrived to collect their souls.

By the time everyone had reacted, the night sky was completely illuminated by a crimson glow.

MAX2 Super Special Move—”Thousand Hundred Twenty-Seven Styles—Tōmu Kiri!”
Flames engulfed the heavens, and the impact, resembling that of a hellish Asura, struck with incredible force, instantly reducing the seven enemies lined up ahead to nothing but charred remains.

Whether they were plot characters or reincarnators, anyone hit head-on by this attack stood no chance of survival.

No matter how similar they were, Kyo Zero and the original Kyo Kusanagi were still fundamentally different in many ways.

Even their signature moves weren’t the same.

If it were the real Kyo Kusanagi here, the technique would have been Mugen, but Kyo Zero chose Tōmu Kiri, a technique with a much stronger aura of violence.

He preferred to crush his enemies with pure, unadulterated brutality, and the intimidating effect of this move paired perfectly with his demonized abilities.

On the devastated street, Kyo Kusanagi marched forward, step by step, determined to personally wipe out these bastards.

The few reincarnators who managed to survive were terrified. They couldn’t understand why their enemies were so overwhelmingly strong.

“What the hell is this bullshit data?”

“We’re screwed, he’s targeting us!”

“All because of that idiot’s mouth.”

“What do we do now?!”

Some tried to escape, but as soon as they took flight, Kyo Kusanagi pressed them back down with a single hand.

When it came to speed, perhaps he couldn’t match Chizuru Kagura, but he was much faster than these reincarnators.

The man pinned beneath his fist could only think one thing in his final moments:

“If my abilities weren’t sealed, I would’ve taken you down already.”

Boom!
The unextinguishable red flames devoured the enemy’s body, and Kyo Kusanagi looked expressionlessly at the remaining few.

His slaughter had only just begun.

At the King of Fighters venue, Clone Warriors Team’s resting room.

“Hahaha.” Constantine’s laughter echoed freely, as the annoying bastards had once again suffered defeat.

Did they think that being reincarnators at difficulty level 2 meant they could act without restraint?
They learned a few basic skills and thought they could face off against the strongest plot characters one-on-one?

“A bunch of useless idiots.”

Looking at the video materials in his hands, Constantine passed them to someone behind him.

“Take it. Give it to those fools. Make sure they come up with a way to deal with him before the plan begins.”

Demonized Zero was incredibly strong. It seemed that he had already surpassed his limits, now possessing the strength to stand toe-to-toe with the original Kyo Kusanagi.

But unfortunately, he was still just a counterfeit and would never gain the recognition of the Three Sacred Treasures.

Without the assistance of the Three Sacred Techniques, they would never be able to seal away the power of Orochi.

So what if a few people died?
As long as he succeeded, even if the Nests organization was destroyed, it wouldn’t matter.

“You were born to serve the gods.”

With a playful laugh, he reclined on the bed, allowing the handsome men and beautiful women beside him to attend to his every need.

In a haze of indescribable pleasure, the consciousness of the Chosen One gradually detached from his body, drifting into an unknown, void-like world.

Southtown, the hotel beside the venue.

Unable to sleep, Fang Bo decided to go for a walk. However, before he could get far, someone stopped him in his tracks.

“Hey, kid.” A familiar voice called out, blocking his way.

The towering figure exuded an indescribable sense of pressure.

It was none other than the unkillable tyrant, Omega Rugal.

Not long ago, this man had died at the hands of Kyo Kusanagi, and now he was blocking Fang Bo’s path—not to reminisce, but for something else.

“Is something the matter?”
