RWWOKS Chapter 46

This entry is part 47 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

**Chapter 46: The Battle for Supremacy at Sea**

Inside the tavern in Loguetown, the core members of the Krieg Pirates were gathered.

Admiral Krieg sat proudly in the center, a bandana tied over his light purple hair, laughing wildly while holding several beautiful women in his arms.

His prized golden armor lay beside him, guarded closely by two of his subordinates. Anyone who dared approach was met with the threat of their sharp blades.

In a corner of the tavern, a male reincarnator sat drinking alone, trying to suppress the seething anger within him.

The woman nestled in Krieg’s arms was one of his own teammates. He hadn’t even had a chance to make a move, yet somehow, a character from the story had gotten to her first.

It wasn’t love that made him angry, but his possessiveness, quietly gnawing at him. Unable to fight back against Krieg, all he could do was drown his frustration in alcohol.

“I hope a strong fighter shows up and wipes you out,” he thought bitterly, watching his female teammate smile and laugh with Krieg, his jealousy burning even hotter.

As he downed one beer after another, time slipped away, and before he knew it, it was late into the night. Despite his impressive stamina, the alcohol eventually forced him to relieve himself.

“Hey, the boss wants you outside. I’ll guard things here for you.”

“Got it, thanks, man,” he replied.

The reincarnator paid no mind to the two pirates switching shifts as he stumbled toward the bar, trying to think through his next steps.

With the Krieg Pirates backing him, no one dared cause trouble. Just tagging along on a few ship raids had already boosted his bounty to over a million berries.

He and his teammate had practically coasted through their mission, a stark contrast to the Black Cat Pirates’ struggles.

With only two days left until the mission deadline, the man wasn’t keen on exerting himself. He relished the carefree life of drinking and avoiding conflict.

“This is the benefit of having foresight,” he thought proudly, feeling superior to those who only knew how to fight hard.

To survive in the reincarnation space, brute force wasn’t enough. You had to be smart and align yourself with the right powers.

Learning to leverage local forces was the real path to success.

“Hey man, stop guarding and join us for a drink. I’ll take over for you,” a familiar voice called out.

“Ha, thanks. I owe you one.”

The reincarnator slowly turned his head, watching a pirate casually walk out of the tavern.

At some point, the once lively bar had emptied. Even one of the pirates guarding the weapons was gone.

Despite his reputation for strength, Krieg was known for his fear of death. Wherever he went, he was always surrounded by a large entourage. It was highly unusual for the tavern to be this empty.

“Something’s wrong,” the man thought, suddenly sober. His mind raced as he replayed the events of the evening.

Ever since his jealousy had flared, there had been a steady trickle of pirates being lured out of the tavern with various excuses.

Most of them hadn’t returned. Even those who did only came back to convince others to leave.

Reaching into his jacket, the man pulled out a small magic wand and glanced toward the tavern door.

After a moment of thought, he decided not to investigate alone. As a mage, he knew better than to wander into a potential ambush, where his life could end in an instant.

Instead, he quietly slipped upstairs, soon arriving at the door of Krieg’s room.

Hearing the sounds of pleasure from within, he narrowed his eyes and knocked in a rhythmic pattern, alerting the two people inside.

Jealous as he was, survival came first. Minor grievances meant nothing in the face of life and death.

Within seconds, the female reincarnator emerged, fully dressed and looking just as composed.

“What’s going on?” she asked calmly.

Covering his mouth and nose with his hand, the man wasted no time and whispered, “We have company.”

Just as the words left his mouth, a heavyset man crashed through the window, screaming at the top of his lungs.

“Krieg, your time is up!”

Butchi charged in wildly, desperate to prove his worth. If he didn’t, there would be no place for him in the Black Cat Pirates.

If Krieg had been wearing his impenetrable golden armor, Butchi wouldn’t have dared to challenge him. But now, things were different. Without his invincible defense, Krieg was just another man of flesh and blood, and Butchi’s steel claws could tear him apart.

As Butchi charged, the two reincarnators didn’t even flinch.

“They’re dumber than I expected.”

“Yeah, and I was actually worried for a second.”

Just as Butchi reached the duo, Krieg’s massive golden battle spear smashed through the door, striking him like a baseball bat and sending him flying.

The sound of bones snapping filled the room as Butchi’s body twisted into an inverted V shape, his head nearly touching his backside.

One strike, and Butchi was down.

An elite pirate, reduced to nothing more than a broken doll in the face of Krieg’s fury.

Splintering the door of the tavern’s second floor, Krieg brandished his massive spear, his eyes gleaming with a feral intensity. The weapon, weighing over a ton, moved like a toy in his hands, its sheer power sending a shiver down the spines of the two reincarnators.

“This guy’s strength must be at least 30 points,” one of them whispered.

Outside, the entire island had descended into chaos. Pirates appeared from nowhere, launching a full-scale attack on the Krieg Pirates.

“Hmph, it’s the Black Cat Pirates,” Krieg growled, slamming his spear into the ground. The force shook the entire tavern.

Turning to the woman who had just served him, Krieg’s eyes were cold and devoid of emotion, as if he were looking at a stranger. “Go check what’s happening. Bring back my golden armor and the rest of my weapons.”

Hearing the system’s prompts in their minds, the two reincarnators exchanged glances, quickly gathering a group of pirates before charging out of the tavern.

It didn’t matter who the enemy was. No one could face the Krieg Pirates head-on. With five thousand pirates at their disposal, it would take until morning just to cut them all down.

The only way to win was a decapitation strike—taking out Krieg before his forces could react.

The two reincarnators understood this. Still, they chose to leave the tavern, intending to hide in the shadows and assess the situation.

If the enemy was too strong, they would simply retreat. If the enemy faltered, they’d join in the fight, reaping whatever benefits they could.

It was a sound strategy, perfectly in line with the cold, calculating nature of reincarnators. But they made one fatal mistake.

They underestimated the greed of their opponents.

When a figure wearing a yellow hat appeared before them, the man’s heart sank. He realized the enemy had no intention of letting them go.

“Quick and clean,” he muttered.

“Got it.”

Raising his wand, the man summoned a terrifying bolt of lightning, giving his opponent no time to dodge.

The powerful magic, “Lightning Flash,” from the world of *Mushoku Tensei*, struck Ubume squarely.

Panting and leaning on his knees, the man expected the attack to have done its job. But what he saw next left him stunned.

A red-tongued demon stood before him, having absorbed the lightning as if it were nothing more than a pleasant sensation.

“Looks like your luck is terrible today,” came a soft chuckle. Ryuno appeared, walking toward them with a smile. “Akashita’s Thunder Drum can absorb lightning. It seems your magic is useless.”

Ubume and Akashita stood together, alongside swordsman Paul and cyborg Jack. They had been waiting for these reincarnators to try and escape.

Fang Bo was indeed greedy. He had no intention of letting such easy prey slip through his fingers.

Whether they fled or fought didn’t matter. Killing them would cause no trouble.

The hypnotic plan had worked unexpectedly well, allowing them to steal Krieg’s most important pieces of equipment.

Without his invincible armor, Kuro alone was enough to give Krieg a tough fight—let alone with Fang Bo waiting for an opening.

As for the other Black Cat pirates, they were struggling to hold off the thousands of Krieg’s men. The sheer numbers made it an uphill battle.

But this was all part of Kuro’s carefully laid plan. Had they confronted the Krieg Pirates head-on, it would have been the Black Cat Pirates who faced certain doom. After all, Krieg’s overwhelming numbers were his greatest weapon in his bid for control over East Blue.

While Ryuno dealt with the two reincarnators, supported by two elite pirates, Kuro squared off against Krieg inside the tavern.

Kuro discarded the scabbards of his cat claws, his sharp eyes locking onto Krieg.

“Bet you didn’t think I’d come back one day.”

“Hah,” Krieg scoffed, his sneer full of disdain as he looked down at Kuro and Fang Bo like insects. “Do you really think you two weaklings have what it takes to defeat me?”

As soon as he spoke, two figures appeared at his side.

To his left stood a scruffy man of average height, his messy beard and striped headscarf making him look more like a street thug than the battle commander of a pirate fleet.

This man was none other than Gin, the Demon Man, a cold and powerful fighter.

As for the figure on Krieg’s right, it was a massive man completely encased in shields—Pearl, also known as “Iron Wall,” the third-in-command of the Krieg Pirates.

With these two by his side, Krieg had no fear of the Black Cat Pirates’ threat.

All they needed was to hold out for another ten to fifteen minutes, and their forces would break through the enemy lines. Once that happened, they could take their time dealing with the intruders.

“What an arrogant bunch,” Alvida scoffed, kicking the door open, her spiked club aimed straight at Gin’s menacing face.

The shielded brute seemed too tough to handle, so she opted for the seemingly weaker opponent instead.

But whether her choice was the right one…

Bang!

The sharp crack of gunfire echoed through the air, signaling the start of the battle for supremacy over East Blue.
