RWWOKS Chapter 50

This entry is part 51 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Chapter 50: Heading to Loguetown

Onboard the *Fearless*, Fang Bo was quietly admiring his wanted poster.

“I’m officially a pirate with a bounty of over ten million.”

Paul smiled beside him, though his eyes showed a trace of reluctance. He knew his captain was about to embark on a journey, and soon, the *Fearless* would be under his command as vice-captain, with the modified human, Jack, serving as his right hand.

Turning to look at the sharp-featured young man, Fang Bo thought for a moment before speaking. “While I’m gone, focus on strengthening yourself. If you’re willing, I can suggest a place for you to train.”

“Boss, whatever you say, I’ll do it.”

Patting him on the shoulder, Fang Bo finally revealed his idea: “Head to Shimotsuki Village and seek out a master named Koshiro Shimotsuki. Train in swordsmanship under him.”

“I understand,” Paul nodded, though he was puzzled. Still, he trusted his captain completely.

“Remember, power is the only truth in this world. The cries of the weak earn no sympathy on the seas.”

“Yes, I’ll remember.”

The reason Fang Bo gave Paul this advice was that he had already completed the second main quest.

The final quest, “The Pirate King’s Legacy,” had now been issued, requiring him to travel to Loguetown alone without any story characters.

-[Main Quest: Bounty (Completed)]

[You have gained 300 plot points.]

[You have acquired the Admiral’s Pocket Watch (valuable item).]

-[Main Quest: The Pirate King’s Legacy (Activated)]

[Quest Description: You have received word that a treasure left behind by the Pirate King is hidden in Loguetown.]

[Quest Objective: Travel to Loguetown alone and confirm the details of the treasure within one week.]

Admiral’s Pocket Watch: A valuable item that can increase favor with story characters when gifted or sold to the system for 200 plot points.

At the moment, Fang Bo didn’t need the 200 plot points, so he chose not to sell it, thinking it might come in handy as a gift later.

As Loguetown appeared in the distance, Fang Bo waved, signaling that no farewell was necessary.

Ordering the *Fearless* to sail away on its own, he then called upon the resting Onmyoji, Ryuno, and the two of them took a small raft toward the distant island.

Loguetown, known as “The Town of Beginnings and Ends,” was located near the entrance to the Grand Line. It was the birthplace of the former Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and also the place where he was executed by the Navy.

His final words ignited the Great Pirate Era, and so many pirates considered this town a sacred place.

After docking their raft at Loguetown’s port, Fang Bo’s eyes were immediately drawn to the triangular sign that read “Logue Town.”

The streets ahead were filled with various shops and a bustling crowd, giving off a feeling reminiscent of a modern city.

“Stay sharp,” Ryuno cautioned, keeping a wary eye on their surroundings. “As usual, the final mission is likely to involve clashes between opposing factions. We could run into enemies at any moment.”

Fang Bo nodded slightly and followed her down a secluded alley, all the while contemplating the so-called treasure of the Pirate King.

“Treasure” was a vague term, with no fixed definition.

It wasn’t just gold and silver that could be considered treasure. People had different interpretations of what it meant.

Some might think the One Piece itself was the only real treasure left by the Pirate King, while others might consider something as simple as a compass that Roger cherished to be just as valuable.

Fang Bo suspected that this main quest didn’t have a single fixed answer. The Pirate King’s treasure might be more abundant than people realized—after all, there had to be enough for all the reincarnators to find something.

Soon, his theory was proven correct.

When he spotted the sharpshooter Vincenzo, he knew that the Silver Fox Squad had already arrived in Loguetown.

After briefly recounting their past conflict, Fang Bo wasn’t keen on showing himself. To his surprise, Vincenzo walked straight toward him.

“Relax,” Vincenzo said, waving his hand and pointing to a café across the street. “The boss is waiting for you there, along with other reincarnators from the pirate faction.”

Sensing the area carefully, Fang Bo realized that Vincenzo wasn’t lying. There were indeed familiar auras inside the café—reincarnators he had encountered when they first entered this world.

Given the nature of the upcoming quest, it wasn’t unusual for the pirate faction to gather together.

Even though Fang Bo understood this, he didn’t budge an inch, standing there quietly and watching the sharpshooter.

“Tch, cautious as always, I see,” Vincenzo muttered, realizing that Fang Bo didn’t trust them at all.

Without mutual trust, cooperation was nothing but wishful thinking. Often, the most dangerous knives came from those closest to you.

In that case, it was better for everyone to go their own way.

**[Participant No. 11026 has sent you a non-aggression contract.]**

Glancing at the sharpshooter in front of him, Fang Bo carefully reviewed the contract’s contents. The terms were simple: reincarnators who signed the contract agreed not to attack each other for the remainder of the mission.

With this in place, the reincarnators in the same faction could finally cooperate without fear of betrayal. However, there was one catch—the contract required each participant to pay a fee of 100 plot points.

Noticing her companion’s hesitation, Ryuno leaned over and explained softly, “To create this contract, the initiator has to pay 20 merit points to the system.”

Hearing this, Fang Bo understood the reasoning behind the fee.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch. If you wanted to focus on the real enemy without worrying about betrayal, it was worth paying a little “insurance” to sign the contract. At least this way, he wouldn’t have to fear someone stabbing him in the back.

Given the significant merit point cost, Fang Bo decided it was worth spending 100 plot points for peace of mind. However, he still wondered what rank he needed to unlock the ability to initiate these contracts himself.

Once the contract was signed, Vincenzo visibly relaxed. Fang Bo and Ryuno followed the sharpshooter, and Fang Bo finally voiced his question.

“What rank do you need to reach before you can unlock the contract privilege?”

Ryuno paused briefly before answering, “You need to at least reach officer rank in the system.”

She continued, “It’s not just contracts between reincarnators—you can also use merit points to form contracts with summoned creatures. Even when turning them into followers, you’ll need to use the same system.”

“Sounds pretty versatile,” Fang Bo remarked, curiosity piqued. “For example, how many merit points would it take to form a contract with your shikigami?”

“Forty,” Ryuno replied, causing Fang Bo to raise an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected the cost of a simple contract to be so high.

“And if it were a forced contract?”

“Eighty,” she answered.

This number surprised Fang Bo even more. And that was just for a mid-level shikigami. The cost of contracting with more powerful creatures was probably astronomical.

No wonder people said that merit points were never enough. Clearly, their uses were far broader than he had imagined.

Fang Bo glanced at his own stats screen, realizing he was far from using such advanced methods. But that was understandable—this was only his second story world. It made sense that his rank wouldn’t match up with those more experienced reincarnators.

After going through several more worlds, maybe he’d be able to explore these interesting merit-point privileges.

Soon, the trio arrived at a café near the entrance of Loguetown. Upon entering, Fang Bo immediately spotted the leader of the Silver Fox squad, Jushan, gripping his Zanpakuto.

“You’re finally here,” Jushan smiled, standing up as if all their past conflicts had been forgotten.

Of course, Fang Bo wasn’t that naive. Right now, they were allies of convenience. Any personal grievances were less important than completing the task at hand. But once the mission was over, and they crossed paths again, there would be no room for mercy.

Nodding briefly at Jushan, Fang Bo scanned the room.

Compared to when they first entered the pirate world, the number of reincarnators had significantly dwindled. Even with some choosing to join the Navy faction, there were only thirteen people left.

Sensing his confusion, Jushan offered a brief explanation, “Not everyone was as lucky as you, getting to join the infamous Black Cat Pirates. Most of them are just struggling to survive under constant pursuit by the Navy.”

Though it sounded pitiful, Fang Bo didn’t care in the slightest. He simply found a seat and settled in.

The other reincarnators in the room eyed him curiously. After all, this was the infamous Jason of the Black Cat Pirates, with a bounty of 12 million berries—a name that carried weight.

After a few moments, when it was clear no one else was arriving, Jushan began explaining the current situation.

As Fang Bo had expected, the Silver Fox squad believed there were many ways to complete the mission. Even finding something as insignificant as a towel once used by the Pirate King could count as completing the task.

However, there was a catch. Manipulating the system in such a way would lower their completion rating, which meant fewer attribute points as a reward.

“To ensure our ratings aren’t affected, we need to thoroughly investigate and find the most valuable treasure left behind by the Pirate King,” Jushan said.

But he reminded them not to forget that the Navy faction was lurking in Loguetown, ready to pounce at any moment. The mission was likely more dangerous than it appeared, which was why the Silver Fox squad had pushed for the non-aggression contract in the first place.

Initially, Fang Bo thought they would be discussing a detailed plan. But then, Jushan changed the subject entirely, bringing up a more unexpected proposal.

“I’ve spoken with the NESTS squad, and I learned that the Navy faction has suffered heavy losses as well. None of us want to keep fighting over a few merit points, so we came to an agreement.”

His eyes scanned the room as he continued, “We’ve decided to settle things with a good old-fashioned arena battle to determine who gets to claim the mission’s rewards.”

At this, Fang Bo heard several people gasp in surprise.

As a total rookie, he could only turn to Ryuno for clarification.

Sighing, Ryuno offered a brief explanation of some of the unspoken rules within the reincarnation space.

“This so-called arena battle…”
