RWWOKS Chapter 67

This entry is part 68 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

**Chapter 67: A New Secondary Weapon**

Fang Bo reached out, carefully touching the headless puppet on the ground. Following the knowledge he had gained, he used his mental power to create threads connecting the puppet’s joints.

Ali, who was reading the letter, couldn’t help but cast a curious glance in his direction.

In the distance, Jorogumo, who had just finished devouring the Spider Mother’s corpse, looked satisfied. As she turned her head, she noticed the puppet shaking violently.

“Still alive?!” She opened her bloodied spider head, preparing to trap the target in webs.

However, a mental command from her summoner made her stop immediately.

Perhaps in Jorogumo’s eyes, the “onmyoji” before her was trying to take control of this strange new shikigami.

Ali glanced at the summoner’s spider companion and sighed. He was briefly reminded of his once-naive self.

If she hadn’t been with him, he would probably still be at Jujutsu High, studying hard and never realizing the world’s true nature.

While Fang Bo continued his attempt, oblivious to the thoughts of the two around him, his heart was filled with excitement, like a child with a new toy.

“It worked!”

Under the group’s watchful eyes, the headless puppet’s body began trembling violently. Then, in a bizarre motion, it stood up again.

It looked so unsettling that anyone unaware of the situation might think it was straight out of *The Grudge*.

At this moment, Fang Bo’s left hand was moving slowly, each finger linked to a thread of mental energy.

Following his command, the headless puppet began moving around.

First, it stretched its arms and kicked its legs, then it swung its arm blades, attacking continuously.

Unfortunately for a nearby pine tree, the puppet’s wild strikes soon reduced it to splinters, after which it targeted a massive boulder.

Though the puppet’s movements were slow, it eventually shattered the stone, demonstrating its terrifying strength. Fang Bo was more than satisfied with its power.

“Amazing! This puppet control technique offers an entirely new way of fighting.”

Fang Bo was extremely pleased with his newfound ability, though two issues bothered him.

First, he lacked the ability to repair the puppet.

Second, this equipment would likely replace his secondary weapon.

Indeed, in the space’s system, the headless puppet was classified as a weapon, similar to swords or firearms.

This meant that using it would occupy one of his weapon slots.

The Dragoon rifle was Fang Bo’s primary weapon and his main source of damage, so it couldn’t be discarded. The only option was to remove the 3D Maneuver Gear from his combat loadout.

As the difficulty of missions increased, the dangers Fang Bo faced would become more severe. Whether in the *One Piece* world or the current *Demon Slayer* world, Fang Bo didn’t dare to recklessly swing between trees.

Doing so would practically be inviting enemies to attack him.

He had already suffered the consequences in the *One Piece* world, so he had been especially cautious in the *Demon Slayer* world.

Without the ability to glide, the 3D Maneuver Gear’s value would be reduced by 80%. Fang Bo didn’t need the blades, and the storage ability felt quite redundant.

Gently stroking the cool gas canisters, Fang Bo stored the gear in his space imprint and equipped the puppet in the secondary weapon slot.

He took a moment to examine its attributes.

[Name: Headless Puppet

With the headless puppet equipped, Fang Bo’s mental power received another boost.

Mental Power:** 27 (+8)

The puppet was fantastic in every aspect, except for its durability, which had dropped to only 100 points, causing Fang Bo some concern.

As for how to repair it, Fang Bo had no idea. The only solution he could think of was to visit the Swordsmith Village.

The village was home to many skilled craftsmen, and someone there could surely help him repair the puppet.

If not, he would have to seek help from the master craftsmen in the Reincarnation Space. While repairs wouldn’t be an issue, he might not be able to use the puppet within this storyline world anymore.

“If it breaks, I’ll just have to find a new puppet.”

Suddenly, Fang Bo’s eyes lit up as he recalled something. “Come to think of it, there’s a mechanical puppet in the Swordsmith Village.”

Yoriichi Type Zero, a training puppet passed down through the generations in the village, was modeled after the samurai Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the strongest fighter in the *Demon Slayer* world.

Even in its damaged state, the mechanical puppet possessed far greater power than the headless puppet, enough to spar briefly with the Mist Hashira.

The headless puppet would likely be destroyed in an instant if it faced such a foe.

Letting the puppet follow behind him, Fang Bo walked over to his companion, signaling that they could continue.

Seeing the tall puppet and the bloodthirsty Jorogumo, Ali quietly swallowed, feeling an inexplicable sense of fear around his teammate.

“Being paired with him means this person hasn’t experienced too many storyline worlds.”

“I’m originally from a storyline, so my power is far superior to early Reincarnators, yet this guy gives me a chilling sense of dread.”

Ali felt a momentary tension but quickly brushed off his worries.

He had grown to like Fang Bo and had already come to trust his character. The stronger Fang Bo became, the more it would benefit him.

“If more people like him existed, the atmosphere in the Reincarnation Space might change for the better.”

As they continued into the depths of Spider Mountain, they encountered a few ghost spiders. Using his Plunder ability, Fang Bo restored his and Jorogumo’s health.

While the ability wasn’t particularly powerful in battle, its impact on overall progress was undeniable. Without the two healing instances, Fang Bo wouldn’t be exploring so confidently.

[Legendary Trait (Heart of Steel): You have accumulated 14 health points in this world.]

“Just 6 more points to complete the accumulation. A few more monsters should do it.”

Watching his teammate search for enemies, Fang Bo suddenly recalled something the onmyoji lady had told him.

She mentioned that a Reincarnator’s innate abilities could evolve, though the process varied. Some found it easy, while others required special methods.

Fang Bo’s legendary trait could also evolve, though he didn’t yet know how.

Currently, each storyline world granted him an extra 20 health points, a significant bonus.

Without factoring in defense, that was equivalent to gaining two points of constitution per world.

If his trait could evolve, its effects would undoubtedly become even more powerful, allowing his strength to grow at an even faster rate.

Lately, Fang Bo couldn’t stop thinking about his encounter in the real world. The supernatural being who attacked him clearly knew his “past” well.

Maybe, at one point, Fang Bo had been one of them too?

His instincts told him that the best way to evolve his trait would be to track down that group.

In the dark forest, a ghost spider with a human boy’s head was frantically fleeing.

This was the older brother of the Spider Mountain family, capable of turning infected individuals into spiders.

Following his “younger brother’s” orders, he had been working to create an army of spiders to wipe out the demon hunters in the mountains.

However, just moments ago, the spider brother had encountered the greatest enemy of his life.

It had seemed like an ordinary human, nothing special, walking straight up to the spider brother like a fool.

What he thought was an easy snack quickly turned into a nightmare. In just five minutes, the roles of predator and prey had completely reversed.

“How is this possible?!” The spider brother couldn’t understand.

His venom was potent, capable of turning many victims into ghost spiders, but today it had no effect on this human.

It wasn’t that the human had fought off the venom or taken an antidote—it simply hadn’t worked at all.

If it hadn’t worked on a fellow demon, that would be one thing. But this was a human… right?

Then again, the spider brother wasn’t entirely sure. The terrifying creature pursuing him seemed more like a monster than a human.

When one monster fears another, the latter must be unimaginably powerful.

Boom!

In the spider brother’s despairing eyes, a tall, slender figure crashed to the ground like a cannonball, landing just ahead of him.

“Found you~”

The voice was eerily familiar—the same one that had filled him with endless terror.

But the spider brother quickly realized that the creature before him looked completely different from before.

Earlier, it had looked like an ordinary, albeit terrifying, human. Now, its skin was cracked like dried wood, and its face had no features, just a gaping, abyss-like maw.

There was no way this thing was human. It looked more horrifying than even the Twelve Kizuki.

“You… what are you…?”

Before the spider brother could get his answer, the creature’s maw expanded a thousandfold, as if it were a mouth ready to devour him.

Without a chance to resist, the

spider brother’s two front legs were severed, the cuts smooth as if they had been erased by an eraser.

“Oh my, how did you get hurt~?” The creature looked terrifying, yet its tone was strangely playful.

What should have been a comforting demeanor only made the spider brother more afraid.

In the instant his front legs were devoured, the spider brother noticed a fresh scar on the creature’s body—a wound he had inflicted earlier in their battle.

What did that mean?

This incomprehensible monstrosity was the very same human who had nearly killed him moments ago.

“No… there’s no way that thing is human!!!”

The dark forest echoed with the spider brother’s screams.
