RWWOKS Chapter 68

This entry is part 69 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

**Chapter 68: Lower Moon**

“Keep pushing, we’re close to finishing it off!”

Shouts and battle cries echoed as a group of Demon Slayer members surrounded their enemy.

With its hideous appearance and muscular body, it was the father of the Spider Mountain family.

“Just a little more!” a Reincarnator holding a set of prayer beads exclaimed excitedly.

This powerful monster seemed to be the strongest boss of Spider Mountain. Defeating it would certainly have a huge impact on their final mission evaluation.

As for whether there were stronger monsters elsewhere?

As a veteran who had experienced seven storyline worlds, the Reincarnator had his own judgment system. From every angle, this monster fit the profile of a first-act boss.

Even he had to rely on the help of storyline characters to handle it. For other weaker Reincarnators, they would have stood no chance.

“The difficulty of the first act can’t be that high; otherwise, it wouldn’t align with the Reincarnation Space’s selection mechanism.”

If there were a more powerful monster lurking in the mountains, the difficulty of this storyline world would far exceed expectations.

With a brilliant flash from the prayer beads, the father spider’s previously invulnerable body began to break down.

Seizing the moment, the Demon Slayer swordsmen rushed forward, dealing massive damage together, and finally managed to decapitate the spider father.

Seeing this, the Reincarnator let out a long sigh of relief, lovingly twirling the prayer beads in his hand.

This item came from the storyline world *Saiyuki*, a top-tier weapon with powerful effects. Although it didn’t deal direct damage, it significantly weakened the enemy’s defense.

The added bonus of the beads was particularly effective against monsters like this, making it an indispensable tool in this fight.

From the prayer beads’ abilities, it was clear that this male Reincarnator followed a support path, excelling in weakening enemies.

As long as he had allies, his value would skyrocket.

Even without the Demon Slayer swordsmen, the man had an impressive summoning skill, capable of calling forth a powerful Onix with high offensive capabilities.

Yes, he had also visited the *Pokémon* world, a paradise for summoners. Every invitation there came at a steep price.

“Dying at my hands isn’t unfair,” the man chuckled smugly as he bent down to pick up the dropped storyline treasure chest.

But just as he reached for it, he felt an inexplicable ripple pass by him.

Standing up in confusion, he realized that all the previously cheering swordsmen had been sliced in half at the waist.

Amid the bloodbath, the Reincarnator was the only one left unharmed.

Turning his head stiffly, he saw a small, white-haired boy standing in the distance.

He looked no older than thirteen or fourteen, exuding an overwhelming, bone-chilling demonic aura.

“How cruel,” the boy said coldly, his expression indifferent, as though he were recounting a trivial matter. “You killed my father, so as his family, I must seek revenge.”

He wasn’t addressing the Reincarnator directly. Instead, it felt like he was trying to play the role of an avenger, but despite his efforts, he couldn’t fully immerse himself in the act.

This made the boy grow increasingly agitated.

Realizing the danger, the Reincarnator instinctively reached for his space imprint, intending to summon his Pokémon to fight back.

But before he could act, sharp threads sliced through his body.

As he felt his life slipping away, the Reincarnator struggled to make a sound, but it was futile. He couldn’t even manage something as simple as taking out a potion.

In the end, this veteran of many worlds died silently in the forest.

“Father, I’ve avenged you!” the boy roared skyward, his voice filled with an indescribable sense of pleasure.

For the first time, he felt a twinge of heartache, a sensation he found deeply intoxicating.

[Legendary Trait (Heart of Steel) Activated: +2 Health]

“Just a bit more time,” Fang Bo muttered as he released the ghost spider he had been gripping, feeling quite satisfied. He had completed the accumulation for his legendary trait.

Before long, his personal health would break past the 200-mark, and this was without having invested any points into Constitution.

If he adjusted his stat distribution, his health pool might even surpass that of defense-heavy tank characters who focused on building health.

**Health: 148/160 (+90)**

The increase in his health cap also meant that his summoned creatures would enjoy greater sustainability, a huge advantage for exploring storyline worlds.

If not for that, Fang Bo wouldn’t have bothered spending so much time on these smaller monsters.

“The area should be completely cleared now,” Ali said after a brief sensing sweep, then turned his head toward a distant location.

“There’s a fight happening over there.”

Truthfully, Fang Bo didn’t want to waste any more time. He was eager to take down the Twelve Kizuki before other Reincarnators could beat him to it.

Unfortunately, his sensing ability was passive, unlike Ali’s active search for targets.

In the vast Spider Mountain, who knew when he’d stumble upon Rui, the Lower Rank Five, if he relied purely on luck?

Sighing in resignation, Fang Bo decided to follow Ali to investigate the disturbance.

They quickly arrived at the scene of the battle, where they saw the Spider Sister fleeing for her life, pursued by a massive fireball that descended from the sky.

“No!!!”

The Spider Sister raised her hands in a pitiful plea for mercy, but her wish, along with her body, was reduced to ashes.

Watching the charred remains of the mini-boss, Fang Bo raised an eyebrow, shielding himself from the intense heatwave with his hand.

It had been a long time since he’d seen such a terrifying attack. There was something satisfying about witnessing such a raw, explosive technique.

As the flames dissipated, a Reincarnator appeared beside the treasure chest, though he didn’t immediately pick it up. Instead, he gave Fang Bo and Ali a warning look.

Clearly, the fireball had been his doing, and his ability to solo a mini-boss spoke volumes about his strength.

Fang Bo needed strong allies to hunt the Twelve Kizuki, and Ali alone might not be enough. If they could recruit this guy, it could tip the scales.

But unlike the straightforward sorcerer Ali, this Reincarnator seemed like a difficult person to get along with. Despite the cooperative nature of this world, the hostility in his eyes was undeniable.

Ignoring the purple treasure chest, Fang Bo smiled and extended an invitation. “What do you think? Interested in helping take down the final boss?”

Hearing the offer, the other Reincarnator’s hostility lessened a bit, as if he was weighing the pros and cons.

He bent down to collect the chest, and after inspecting the loot, he seemed ready to say something when Fang Bo’s shikigami suddenly screeched a warning.

They all turned and saw a white-haired boy standing in the distance, his overwhelming presence making it clear who he was.

It was none other than Rui, the Lower Rank Five of the Twelve Kizuki.

[Rui (Lower Rank Five)

Aggression Level: High

Attribute Bias: Mental, Constitution

Traits: Regeneration, Cutting Threads, Blood Oath

Threat Assessment: Moderate Pressure

Regeneration: Quickly heals non-lethal wounds, making him nearly impossible to kill through ordinary means.]

**Cutting Threads:** His threads are strong enough to slice through steel.

**Blood Oath:** His body contains a significant amount of Muzan’s blood, granting him a percentage-based attribute boost.

“Well, looks like we won’t have to hunt him down after all,” Fang Bo said, positioning his puppet and shikigami to obscure Rui’s line of sight.

Scanning someone’s stats was a surefire way to draw their aggro, like snapping a photo of someone in the bathroom—it was bound to make them angry.

Sure enough, Rui had already locked his gaze on Fang Bo, his eyes dark and filled with malice.

He glanced at the crater on the ground and asked coldly, “Did you kill my sister?”

Rui was trying to summon the pain of loss, but this time it didn’t seem to affect him as much.

In truth, of all his fake family members, only the father had truly mastered his role, displaying genuine emotions like a seasoned actor.

The others were mere amateurs, always either terrified or begging for mercy, ruining the illusion of a perfect family.

Lightly scratching his palm with his nails, Rui tried to find a way to feel angry. He believed he should be furious at a time like this.

Bang!

A bullet interrupted his train of thought. Fang Bo, hidden behind the puppet, had taken the first shot.

The surprise attack was well-timed, but the bullet was blocked by a web of threads.

Seeing this, Fang Bo immediately commanded his headless puppet to charge, hoping to distract Rui with close combat.

“Did you also kill my mother?” Rui asked, recognizing the puppet.

“Yes, your mom’s dead.” Fang Bo pointed to Ali, who was poised for action. “He did it. I can vouch for that.”

“…” Ali ignored him, focusing on the two coins in his hand as he prepared his attack.

Rui’s threads had proven strong enough to stop a bullet, and Ali wasn’t sure if his own attack could pierce them. He decided to wait for the right moment to strike.

Then, something unexpected happened.

Just as Rui was about to unleash his full power, a mysterious force slashed across his neck, nearly severing his head.

“Perfect chance.” Fang Bo immediately ordered Jorogumo to unleash her ultimate skill, *Soul-Devouring Venom*.

If they could paralyze the enemy, the group could concentrate their attacks, and even if they couldn’t kill Rui outright, they could at least wear him down.

The energy-formed spider hit its target, causing Rui to freeze momentarily. But in an instant, he regained control.

This meant that Ali’s attack missed the vital spot and only succeeded in blowing off one of Rui’s arms.

“Damn it!” Rui was furious now. He flipped his hand, and threads as intricate as braided cords shot out.

He intended to trap them all and torture them to death, one by one.

“Blood Demon Art: Murderous Eye Cage!”

Faced with the onslaught of webs, Fang Bo had no choice but to let his shikigami and puppet take the brunt of the attack on behalf of both him and Ali.

As for the unknown Reincarnator, a sudden flash of crimson light erupted between his eyes.
