RWWOKS Chapter 72

This entry is part 73 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

**Chapter 72: Becoming the Tenth Pillar?**

“Dissecting?” Fang Bo felt a bit perplexed.

Who in their right mind would dissect a monster in the middle of a storyline world?

This could only mean that the man was gaining some kind of hidden benefit from the process.

Perhaps it was materials or some precious knowledge.

Sensing Fang Bo’s gaze, the man turned toward him. “You can call me Doctor.”

“Jason.”

Climbing onto Shinobu Kocho’s carriage, the Doctor pulled out a silver scalpel and began a live dissection with practiced skill.

The demon spider, having never experienced such a situation, screamed in terror, but it did nothing to disrupt the steady hand of the scalpel.

Within minutes, its flesh was neatly sliced open, the precision so exact it resembled parts manufactured by a machine.

Even Shinobu was impressed by his precision, which was why she had invited the Doctor to collaborate with her on the experiment.

Meanwhile, Fang Bo, who hadn’t had a chance to speak, kept his eyes on the silver scalpel. His instincts told him that this blade had likely taken more lives than it had saved.

As the Doctor washed the blood from his hands, he suddenly asked, “Was it you who killed Lower Moon Five?”

“Yes,” Fang Bo replied.

The strange Reincarnator glanced at him before returning to his work.

Seeing this, Fang Bo walked over to Shinobu Kocho, his expression serious as he said, “Could you step outside? I have something to discuss with you.”

“Huh?” Shinobu blinked in surprise.

As one of the most beautiful members of the Demon Slayer Corps, she was used to situations like this, but no one had ever been this direct.

They’d only just met—this was faster than a matchmaking meeting!

Thanks to Mitsuri’s stories, Shinobu had developed some misguided ideas about matchmaking, believing that confessing immediately after meeting was essentially a marriage proposal.

Even though she felt awkward, for the sake of the poison enhancement experiment, she reluctantly agreed and followed Fang Bo outside the carriage.

Carrying the unintended title of “matchmaking guy,” Fang Bo led her far away from the group to ensure privacy.

Noticing the strange look on her face, he felt puzzled but knew that he had to try.

“I want to meet with the head of the Demon Slayer Corps,” Fang Bo said.

Hearing this, Shinobu immediately realized her misunderstanding, but because of the current circumstances, ordinary Demon Slayer members weren’t allowed to visit the headquarters without a good reason.

After a moment of hesitation, she shook her head slowly. “Without a valid reason, I can’t let you meet with Oyakata-sama.”

Fang Bo had expected this response and delivered a single sentence that completely won her over:

“I’ve found a way to lure out Muzan Kibutsuji.”

By the time Fang Bo removed his blindfold, the headquarters of the Demon Slayer Corps lay before him.

“You’ll need to wait in the resting room. Oyakata-sama will meet with you shortly,” said one of the female guards escorting him.

Upon hearing that he had a way to lure out Muzan, Shinobu had immediately agreed to his request.

However, before leaving, she insisted that he provide some liquid samples for her research, or else the development of her new toxin would come to a halt.

Reluctantly, Fang Bo spent 60 storyline points to satisfy Shinobu’s insatiable curiosity.

“Fine,” he nodded, then began curiously surveying the massive estate.

The Demon Slayer Corps headquarters was where intelligence from across the country was gathered, then sent to individual members via the Kasugai crows.

Fang Bo even spotted the area where the crows were raised. These intelligent birds were capable of speaking human language to relay messages.

Every member who passed the Final Selection received a crow specifically assigned to deliver their missions.

Though they might look alike, each crow had a distinct personality, with some even showing disdain for weaker members of the Corps.

In addition, he saw the armory where the Nichirin blades were distributed to the demon slayers.

If he wanted to visit the Swordsmith Village, Fang Bo would need the help of a Corps member. But first, he’d need the permission of Oyakata-sama, Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

There were plenty of reasons he could use—such as needing to forge a Nichirin blade or learning puppet-forging techniques.

The most important thing was that Fang Bo needed to prove his value.

The intel about the Blue Spider Lily was his bargaining chip with the Demon Slayer Corps.

Muzan Kibutsuji, as a young man, suffered from a terminal illness and was not expected to live past the age of 20.

To cure him, his doctor administered a special medicine. However, before the medicine could take effect, Muzan killed the doctor, only to realize later that he had made a mistake.

The miraculous medicine not only cured Muzan but also granted him immense power. The cost, however, was his inability to withstand sunlight and an insatiable craving for human flesh.

For the next thousand years, Muzan searched for a cure, with the Blue Spider Lily being one of the key ingredients.

During this search, Muzan transformed into various forms—a wealthy man, a geisha, even a child.

He used these disguises to evade the Demon Slayer Corps and continue his search for the Blue Spider Lily.

To learn more about medicine, he even transformed into a young boy and arranged to be adopted by the president of a pharmaceutical company.

Despite all his efforts, Muzan never found the flower during his thousand-year search.

The reason was simple: the Blue Spider Lily only blooms during the day, and as a demon, Muzan could never find it.

Fang Bo knew all this. He also knew that the Blue Spider Lily was growing near Tanjiro Kamado’s mother’s grave.

Muzan had been very close to achieving his goal, but he was too focused on killing to notice the hidden treasure of the Kamado family.

By using this information as leverage, Fang Bo could strike a deal with Oyakata-sama. In exchange for helping lure out Muzan, he could secure permission to visit the Swordsmith Village—and perhaps even receive some special rewards.

Lost in thought, Fang Bo soon found himself in the company of Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the head of the Demon Slayer Corps, who quickly entered the room.

Without hesitation, Fang Bo laid out his plan.

When Ubuyashiki heard about the Blue Spider Lily, he became so excited that he started coughing up blood, his body clearly near its limits.

“This is wonderful! If we have this information, we can finally put an end to Muzan.”

The idea was promising, but defeating the Twelve Kizuki wouldn’t be easy.

Even just facing Muzan himself would be more than enough for the nine Hashira, not to mention the powerful Upper Moons.

To achieve their goal, they would need to weaken Muzan’s forces as much as possible.

[You have triggered a hidden mission: Twelve Kizuki.]

[Mission Description: To slay the Demon King, you must weaken his subordinates.]

[Mission Objective: Kill as many of the Twelve Kizuki as possible within this world’s timeframe.]

Hearing the space notification, Fang Bo knew that all his efforts had paid off.

The more Upper Moons he killed, the greater the rewards would be upon completing the mission.

This aligned perfectly with his interests. Even without this mission, he had intended to hunt down the Upper Moons.

Looking at the calm expression on Fang Bo’s face, Ubuyashiki, still elated, did not forget to offer a reward.

“The information you’ve provided is invaluable. I’m not sure how to properly reward you.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than another notification sounded in Fang Bo’s mind.

[You have fulfilled hidden conditions and may now receive two rewards from Kagaya Ubuyashiki:]

[Option 1: Crimson Nichirin Blade (Epic)]

[Option 2: Tenth Pillar Title]

[Option 3: Exclusive Breathing Technique]

[Option 4: Breath of the Sun (Incomplete)]

[Option 5: Special Training (10 days)]

No doubt, the Blue Spider Lily’s importance had influenced the entire storyline world. The rewards from the Demon Slayer Corps were extremely valuable.

Faced with a classic “choose two out of five” dilemma, Fang Bo was deeply conflicted.

An epic-level Nichirin blade was certainly a great item, but it wasn’t something he could use effectively.

Breaking tradition to become the Demon Slayer Corps’ Tenth Pillar? That was an intriguing option, though its value and what he could do with that authority were unclear.

As for the two breathing techniques, they didn’t quite suit him. Right now, Fang Bo had no intention of engaging in frequent melee combat.

Even if he rushed in occasionally, it would only be to afflict enemies with debuffs, not to slash them with a blade.

The special training was even less appealing—he didn’t have ten days to spare.

Ten days? He could use that time to plot the downfall of an Upper Moon.

In short, these rewards seemed amazing but weren’t exactly practical for him.

“Well, it’s a pleasant surprise either way, so I might as well gamble a little,” Fang Bo thought.

After confirming his choices, a series of space notifications followed.

[You have become the Tenth

Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps.]

[Unlocked: Item Purchase Permissions.]

[Unlocked: Equipment Purchase Permissions.]

[Unlocked: Medicine Purchase Permissions.]

[Unlocked: Mission Assignment Permissions.]

[Unlocked: Command Over Demon Slayer Members.]

Fang Bo’s ascent could be described as meteoric, all thanks to providing information about the Blue Spider Lily.

Ordinarily, these permissions would need to be unlocked step by step, but Fang Bo had bypassed all that, instantly completing what most Reincarnators would never achieve.

It was important to note that the power levels in the Demon Slayer world were relatively low, making it exclusive to first-difficulty worlds. It couldn’t be accessed in higher-difficulty worlds.

Becoming a Pillar at this stage made Fang Bo the first to ever accomplish such a feat.

Being the first always came with plenty of benefits, and now Fang Bo just needed to see what goodies the Demon Slayer Corps had for sale.

But before that, there was still another reward to claim.

Just as he was about to inspect his new items, Fang Bo received a message from the achievement system.

[Achievement Unlocked: You have earned the title “Spider Pillar.”]

“Huh?”

Fang Bo was momentarily speechless at the strange title.

At first, he wasn’t particularly bothered by it, but when he saw the effects of the title, he couldn’t stay calm any longer.
