RWWOKS Chapter 76

This entry is part 77 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

**Chapter 76: Slaying Lower Moon Six**

As the darkness began to spread, Fang Bo instinctively stood up.

“The enemy is here!”

However, the oppressive dark mist was spreading too quickly. Just as Fang Bo grabbed his Dragoon, the next second, his world was plunged into total darkness.

“What kind of ability is this?!” Fang Bo frantically moved his head around, but all he could see was an impenetrable black fog. He could still hear the labored breathing of his teammates, but his vision was completely gone.

“Darren!” he called out.

Upon hearing his teammate’s shout, Darren’s eyes lit up with a faint red glow as two black tomoe began spinning in his irises.

**Sharingan, activate!**

The ninja understood his teammate’s intention, but unfortunately, even the Sharingan couldn’t penetrate the thick fog before him. The power of the Sharingan was focused on dynamic visual perception, while the Byakugan was better suited for seeing through illusions.

One of the three strengths of the top-tier fighters in the Demon Slayer world was the ability to see through their opponent’s muscles and blood flow, which allowed them to predict movements and counterattack. It was essentially a non-bloodline version of the Byakugan, achieved through intense training.

But none of the three in their group possessed this power, so they could only stumble through the darkness as they made their way to the street.

Based on their earlier analysis, they were certain that the enemy was targeting them. Since they couldn’t avoid the fight, it was better to face it head-on.

Of course, Fang Bo had no intention of passively waiting for the enemy to strike. In situations like this, he knew they had to disrupt the enemy’s rhythm to create an opening for a counterattack.

A hexagram symbol glowed beside him, and soon a tall figure emerged.

**Summoning Familiar: Jorogumo!**

“Use your webs to block off the street. Let’s see when the enemy shows up.”

Following Fang Bo’s command, the giant spider immediately began spewing webs, quickly covering the area with dangerous traps.

Even without sight, it didn’t matter. As soon as the enemy touched the web, Jorogumo would instantly react. If her stun effect hit, Fang Bo could immediately follow up with an attack, and his teammates could focus their fire.

This large-scale visual impairment was terrifying for humans, meaning the enemy was no ordinary opponent.

But there was another way to look at it.

For an enemy with such a powerful Blood Demon Art to remain a Lower Moon, there had to be a reason—either the demon itself was weak, or the ability had a fatal flaw.

“We’ll find out soon enough.”

Thanks to Fang Bo’s careful preparation, the other two were able to calm down as well.

In the Demon Slayer world, there weren’t many high-damage abilities. To kill the three of them, the enemy would have to attack at close range.

If the demon dared to step into the web-covered street, whether it survived would be another matter entirely.

“I’ll try to locate the enemy. Cover me,” Ali said, crouching on the ground as a faint glow of cursed energy flickered at his fingertips.

This was a sorcerer’s technique, using energy to sense the enemy’s position.

Just as he was about to succeed, Ali suddenly stood up, his voice filled with frustration. “It’s no good. The dark mist is filled with the enemy’s presence. I can’t pinpoint their exact location.”

Hearing this, Fang Bo silently summoned his headless puppet. It might not be able to catch the enemy, but it could at least protect him.

The enemy’s ability was tricky, rendering both of his teammates’ detection skills useless. Now, they could only wait for the demon to make the first move.

But waiting to be attacked was not a good strategy. Fang Bo needed to find a way to turn the tide.

At that moment, Jorogumo suddenly lifted her head, “gazing” in the direction of a certain spot above them.

Sensing the connection, Fang Bo raised his arm and fired a shot, hitting the target hiding in the shadows.

But when he heard the agonizing scream, he realized it was a decoy, likely planted by the enemy.

“Watch your back!” Ali’s urgent warning rang out.

Since Ali hadn’t specified who he was talking to, both Fang Bo and Darren turned around, ready to defend themselves.

But the sound of Ali’s voice from another direction left both men cold, as if drenched in icy water.

Ali’s angry voice came from the opposite direction: “Damn it, that wasn’t me speaking just now!”

The enemy could imitate their voices?!

There wasn’t enough time to react. In a split second, Fang Bo gave Jorogumo a special command.

The next second, Fang Bo felt a sharp pain in his side as the enemy’s claws pierced through his body.

[You have been backstabbed by the enemy, taking 34+15 points of critical damage.]

Gritting his teeth through the searing pain, Fang Bo reached back, ready to fight tooth for tooth.

“A human trying to fight me?” Lower Moon Six, Kamanue, sneered. He didn’t mind teaching this man a lesson.

Brimming with arrogance, Kamanue dodged Jorogumo’s attack from behind, completely ignoring Fang Bo’s hand reaching for him.

Another savage claw strike tore into Fang Bo, soaking his clothes with blood. But in that moment, Fang Bo’s hand successfully made contact with the demon.

“Corrode!”

[Target is now burning, taking 5 fire damage per second for 10 seconds.]

The enemy had stripped away more than 80 of Fang Bo’s health points, and there was no way Fang Bo would let him get away with it.

Amidst the demon’s painful screams, Fang Bo fired a shot, his excellent hearing and marksmanship allowing him to hit Kamanue’s shoulder dead on.

“Damn it!” Kamanue retreated, trying desperately to extinguish the flames still burning on his body.

With his neck injured, he had no choice but to use his Blood Demon Art once more.

As the darkness swallowed the flames, Kamanue finally breathed a sigh of relief.

As long as he wasn’t killed instantly, his regeneration would heal him in time.

“You’ll be the ones defeated in the end,” he muttered.

His next move would be to pierce Fang Bo’s head.

Just as he was searching for a weakness, several energy-formed spiders suddenly collided with his body.

An indescribable pain surged through him, and Kamanue instantly lost control of his body.

He couldn’t believe it. How had the enemy located him so quickly when his Blood Demon Art should have lasted several more minutes?

What Kamanue didn’t realize was that during his attack on Fang Bo, Jorogumo had marked him with a skill.

**Spider Mark: E-Rank**—The marked target suffers extra damage and can be tracked without the need for vision. Only one target can be marked at a time.

With the mark in place, Jorogumo could sense Kamanue’s location and immobilize him with her special ability.

“Ali, seven o’clock!”

“Darren, three o’clock!”

Though Fang Bo’s warning wasn’t strictly necessary, his teammates had already deduced what had happened.

Hearing his directions, they unleashed their attacks on Kamanue’s position.

After taking heavy damage, the demon could no longer maintain his Blood Demon Art, and the surrounding mist rapidly dissipated.

As the enemy’s appearance became clear, Fang Bo immediately recognized him.

“Isn’t this the unlucky guy Muzan killed?”

After the destruction of Spider Mountain, Muzan had deemed the Lower Moons unnecessary. He had slaughtered all of them except for Enmu, the strongest.

Who would have thought that this supposedly dead demon would come after them? This was clearly the space’s way of balancing the mission.

A blazing fireball streaked across the street as Darren unleashed his most powerful fire-style jutsu, hitting Kamanue squarely.

Still recovering from his previous injuries, the demon was once again severely damaged.

Kamanue tried to flee, but Jorogumo’s web blocked his escape. As he struggled to free himself, he was pierced in the shoulder by her web blades.

By the time Ali approached, Kamanue’s regeneration had completely stopped.

“This…this can’t be happening!”

But it was. Jorogumo’s venom sacs effectively suppressed cellular regeneration.

Sure, you could use potions or healing spells, but relying on your own healing ability? Sorry, that wasn’t going to happen.

Desperate, Kamanue tried to run, but Ali wasn’t about to give him the chance.

“Die, monster.”

Ali swung his cursed knife, severing the demon’s other arm, leaving Kamanue a lamb to the slaughter.

Before the demon could muster the strength for one final Blood Demon Art, a precisely aimed shuriken struck him from behind.

The ensuing explosion blew Kamanue’s head clean off.

[You have slain Lower Moon Six, Kamanue.]

With the team working together, the kill was shared among them.

Especially since Fang Bo was the MVP of the battle—without him, the other two would have been in serious danger today.

Jorogumo had proven herself incredibly versatile, adapting to various situations with ease, leaving Fang Bo quite satisfied.

Unfortunately, she remained an SR-level familiar. Even completing her destiny quest wouldn’t raise her potential much further.

Stat points could always be improved over time, but a familiar’s true strength lay in its traits.

If Jorogumo could ascend to SSR, she would be capable of handling situations independently without constant direction from Fang Bo.

“If she could advance, Familiar Summoning would become a B-level skill.”

In a first-difficulty world, the highest skill level one could learn was B-rank, as A-rank skills required a minimum of 30 points in every stat.

B-rank skills were incredibly versatile and marked the user as a top-tier fighter, even in second-difficulty worlds.

Fang Bo continued to ponder how to raise his familiar’s rank. If he didn’t seize this opportunity, it might be too late once she became a reincarnator herself.

“Never mind, I’ll take things one step at a time.”

With the enemy slain, it was now time for the part everyone enjoyed: looting the treasure chest.
