Chapter 87: Explosive Damage Output

“Why didn’t you wait until we were all dead to tell me?”

Upon hearing that there was more than one cave entrance, Fang Bo immediately flicked Kotetsu’s forehead in frustration.

It was a petty way to take revenge for the 2000 story points he had lost earlier.

Grabbing the wincing Kotetsu, who was clutching his head in pain, the two of them quickly headed to the nearest cave entrance.

With the Mist Pillar not yet on the scene, it was best to delay the enemy’s advance, or at least prevent them from reaching the village and causing major destruction.

Sometimes, the minions could be more troublesome than the boss.

Sitting on Fang Bo’s shoulder, Kotetsu pointed ahead. “Just past the forest, you’ll see another cave entrance.”

“Are there any more?”

“Uh, probably seven or eight more, I think.”

“Great, you guys really picked the perfect place.”

Fang Bo suddenly stopped in his tracks. There were already monsters in sight ahead.

“One, three, five…”

With his incredible perception, Fang Bo locked onto seven potfish monsters up ahead.

He set Kotetsu down, motioning for him to hide and watch from a distance, then positioned his newly acquired epic-grade puppet in front of him.

Before the battle even began, a task prompt sounded in his ear.

[Mission 14552: Hidden Quest, Defend Swordsmith Village!]

[Mission Description: The enemy has infiltrated the village through the caves. You must join forces to protect it.]

[Mission Requirement: Villager casualties must not exceed 30%.]

[Hint: It’s possible that members of the Twelve Kizuki aren’t the only ones who can cause harm!]

“As expected, there’s a quest,” Fang Bo smiled slightly and signaled Jorogumo to protect Kotetsu.

He didn’t plan to let the shikigami participate in this fight. After all, he finally had an opponent worth practicing on, and it was time for Yoriichi Type Zero to show its full combat potential.

With level eight puppet control, he could give it a flexible fighting style.

The boost from battle sense allowed his offense and defense to improve significantly.

Plus, his “Spider Pillar” title increased his damage against demons.

**Spider Pillar:** +20% damage to demon-type creatures, and summoned creatures receive a 10% health boost from the user.

With these stacked advantages, combined with the epic-grade Yoriichi Type Zero, dealing with these small fry would be a breeze.

With a flick of his fingers, the puppet sprang into action.

As the potfish monsters charged toward him, the six blades became a blur, instantly tearing through the monsters’ bodies.

[Yoriichi Type Zero’s slash hits the target, dealing 52+14+10+8+5+9 slashing damage.]

The Crimson Nichirin Blade delivered excessive critical damage, with the six hits combined dealing a terrifying 106 points of damage to the potfish monster.

No need for a critical hit—such attacks were enough to kill the enemy instantly.

After pouring countless story points into controlling puppets, Fang Bo was finally seeing the results.

“Stingy creatures. Not even one story chest for me,” Fang Bo muttered, frustrated. He was desperately in need of more story points.

But the potfish monsters weren’t cooperative. The previous batch, and now these seven, refused to drop anything worthwhile.

After slaying the enemies, the only sounds left were Jorogumo’s feasting and Kotetsu’s exaggerated gasps of admiration.

“Wow, that’s incredible, big bro! So puppets really can kill demons!”

Fang Bo ignored him. No matter how much praise he received, it wouldn’t bring back the story points.

Positioning the undamaged Yoriichi Type Zero in front of him, he adjusted the placement of its weapons.

The five remaining swords were of terrible quality, all low-grade “inferior” weapons. If he could replace them with better gear, the damage output would surely see explosive improvement.

At that moment, Fang Bo sensed something and quickly kicked the clueless Kotetsu out of the way.

The next second, sharp claws slashed across the ground, revealing a bearded man standing before him.

“Impressive reflexes,” the man said, swinging his claws again. Fang Bo couldn’t dodge in time, and a few streaks of blood splattered into the air.

“Too bad your agility isn’t up to par.”

The man stood up, revealing the black markings on his face. His golden irises and the character for “Lower Two” engraved on his left eye marked him as the former Lower Moon Two, Rokuro.

“Finally, an enemy with some real weight,” Fang Bo smirked, as if welcoming a money-giving god.

He had just been complaining about needing funds, and now, someone had conveniently shown up.

When he first entered this story world, it took several of them working together to take down a Lower Moon. But things had changed—now, a mere Lower Moon wasn’t even worth his attention.

Raising his flintlock gun, Fang Bo used his battle sense to lock onto the enemy’s aura.

Rokuro was fast, but he couldn’t escape the tracking skill Fang Bo had learned from Akaza.

The bullet fired, and Rokuro was forced to block it with his arm.

In that brief moment of hesitation, Rokuro found himself unable to escape the puppet’s relentless assault.

Six blades rained down like a storm, a barrage so fierce that even the main characters from the *Entertainment District Arc* wouldn’t have been able to avoid it—let alone an overconfident Rokuro.

He managed to block the overhead swing of the Crimson Nichirin Blade, but he was helpless against the other blades cutting across his body.

[Yoriichi Type Zero’s slashes hit the target, dealing 12+6+11+7 slashing damage.]

“Hmph, useless tricks,” Rokuro scoffed. As a demon, he hardly cared about such minor injuries.

But he was unaware of Jorogumo’s lethal potential. The special venom she injected was particularly effective against demons.

When her spider blade pierced his body and the venom sacs activated, Rokuro immediately realized something was wrong.

“What’s happening? Why is my body—”

Seizing the moment of confusion, Jorogumo bound him with her webs, and Yoriichi Type Zero spun its body, using the momentum to deliver a decisive slash.

The special effect of the epic-grade Nichirin Blade triggered, doubling the fatal damage to his neck. Combined with the special damage boost from Fang Bo’s title, it dealt nearly 200 points of explosive damage.

Poor Lower Moon Two didn’t even get a chance to use his Blood Demon Art before Yoriichi Type Zero decapitated him in an instant.

Looking at the orange treasure chest on the ground, Fang Bo calmly chose to claim his reward.

[You are opening a Story Chest (Orange)]

[You received 200 story points]

[You received a Blood Demon Art scroll]

[You received Rokuro’s Claws]

It was the same as usual—another Lower Moon Blood Demon Art and items that could be used to forge equipment.

Individually, these weren’t much, but since Fang Bo had obtained them all by himself, the haul was pretty decent.

The credit for instantly defeating the Lower Moon mostly went to Yoriichi Type Zero. Without its explosive damage output, Fang Bo would still be stuck in battle.

Winning wasn’t in doubt, but it would have taken much longer and likely caused him some serious injuries.

With the upcoming big battle, it was better to remain in peak condition. There were many ways to recover health, but restoring spiritual energy wasn’t as easy.

“Wow, big bro, you’re amazing,” Kotetsu said, still rubbing his head from the earlier kick but still taking the time to thank Fang Bo.

Seeing this, Fang Bo pondered for a moment before deciding to return to the village.

It was too late to head to any other cave entrances, and more importantly, he didn’t want to run into Gyokko or Hantengu. He still wasn’t ready to face enemies of that caliber head-on.

Meeting one of them alone would likely mean a near-death experience.

With the Love Pillar still absent, Fang Bo could temporarily rely on Muichiro Tokito and see if they could work together to take down an Upper Moon.

*Boom!*

A tremor from the direction of the village caught Fang Bo’s attention. He knew that the Mist Pillar must have engaged the enemy.

“Don’t be reckless. Wait for me, so we can fight together.”

On the other side of the mountain, the Doctor stood covered in blood, with countless hair-like threads vibrating madly around him.

His opponent was a white-haired woman with horns on her forehead, far more terrifying than a typical Lower Moon.

This woman was none other than Lower Moon Four, Rui’s sister, Enmu.

“Hahahaha! How does it feel? This is the kind of power you humans can never attain!” Enmu laughed loudly, filled with contempt and mockery for the weak.

**Blood Demon Art: White Threads of Sorrow!**

This was her Blood Demon Art, best suited for tormenting enemies weaker than herself.

Her raw strength might not have been that great, but when it came to picking off weaker foes, many Upper Moons couldn’t match her.

“Power humans can never obtain?” The Doctor stood coldly, his muscles writhing unnaturally under his clothing.

It was as if some sort of monster resided within him. Even Enmu, a demon herself, instinctively halted her advance, her breathing quickening.

She realized with great clarity that what she was feeling now was fear.

“Who said I’m human?”

As soon as the words left his mouth, countless spikes burst from his body, tearing through his clothes.

This was the Doctor’s trump card—*Monsterfication*, a transformation from the *One Punch Man* world. It was a gift he had received after joining the Monster Association.

However, due to his unique nature, his monster form had undergone some peculiar mutations.

Staring at Enmu’s tense face, the monstrous Doctor looked at her with cold eyes and said, “I can feel your fear.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the muscle spikes shot out rapidly. The move was executed so stealthily that if not for Enmu’s keen perception, she would have been impaled.

Dodging the vicious attack, she seemed to regain her confidence and was about to taunt him when her perception screamed at her in warning.

The next second, muscle spikes pierced through Enmu’s body, pinning her firmly to the ground.

Realizing that the Doctor’s muscles were stirring once more, she panicked and tried to beg for mercy, her shameless behavior utterly disgracing the Twelve Kizuki.

Unfortunately for her, the Doctor was not one to show mercy.

“Aaahhh!!!”

The forest echoed with her screams.

Moments later, the Doctor, having recovered, bent down to pick up the story chest.

When he turned around, he spotted an exquisite ceramic jar sitting in the distance.
