RWWOKS Chapter 91

This entry is part 92 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Chapter 91: Seven Personalities, Seven Talents!

After the initial excitement, Fang Bo gradually calmed down.

Thinking about it carefully, completing the destiny task too early might not be a good thing.

Firstly, he lacked the massive amount of merit points needed for the transformation.

Without those, Jorogumo’s strength would remain at her current level. At best, her attributes might increase slightly upon awakening, but that would be it.

The best way to accumulate merit points would be to visit the battlefield of the Reincarnation Space. Once he returned, he’d likely have everything he needed.

Secondly, completing the awakening too easily would result in minimal power growth.

Devouring Hantengu gave such significant progress—perhaps the potential of the “Demon Spider King” was less than he had anticipated.

Summoning a shikigami was a C-grade skill, and its rank was directly tied to the shikigami.

Even if Jorogumo completed her destiny task, she would still remain an SR-level shikigami, far from being on the same level as monsters like Shuten Doji, Great Tengu, or Yoto Hime.

In other words, a C-grade summoning skill couldn’t advance to B-grade unless it received additional power-ups.

“I wonder what it would be like to devour Muzan,” Fang Bo mused.

Forcing himself to stay focused, Fang Bo decided to head to the other battlefield.

No news had come from there for a while, which meant that the battle between the Love Pillar and Gyokko was still ongoing. Perhaps if he went now, he might be able to snatch some loot.

Even if his participation wasn’t high enough to get great equipment, at least he might claim the body of another Upper Moon demon.

As for the Mist Pillar, Tokito Muichiro, he was already lying on the ground. Even a fish demon could easily take him out at this point.

“Don’t worry about me. Go help them,” Muichiro weakly waved his hand before staring blankly up at the sky.

No one knew what thoughts were running through his mind.

Seeing this, Fang Bo quickly left with his shikigami, searching the village for the traces of the other Upper Moon demon.

“If I’m right, Gyokko has probably gone after the village chief.”

“I’ll observe from a distance. If I can fight, I will; if I can’t, I’ll find a way to stall for time.”

After battling all night, dawn was only a few hours away.

By then, even if both the Love Pillar and the Mist Pillar fell, he would still complete the hidden task of defending the swordsmith village.

Of course, if that happened, his world task would likely fail. Losing two major combatants all at once would severely diminish their chances of winning the war at Infinity Castle.

“Sometimes, you just have to help out.”

However, glancing at his dwindling mental energy, Fang Bo wasn’t sure what more he could do.

Meanwhile, the Love Pillar, Kanroji Mitsuri, was relentlessly chasing her opponent.

“D-damn it, what kind of monster is this woman?!” Gyokko grumbled in frustration.

He had finally trapped her in his **Blood Prison Pot**, a move that had worked countless times. But somehow, this woman had broken out with brute force!

She looked so slender—who would’ve thought she possessed such rare, monstrous strength?

“You must be unlovable, huh? How pathetic!”

Gyokko’s snide remark made Mitsuri explode with fury. She immediately activated her demon slayer mark and chased him down with relentless strikes.

Frustrated, Gyokko revealed his true form, hoping to use his full strength to prove his superiority.

However, he was nearly dismembered on the spot. If Mitsuri had been just a little faster, his head would have been taken as a trophy.

“This woman is terrifying. I need to keep my distance…”

In his overly cautious retreat, Gyokko forgot there was another enemy on the battlefield.

When a sharp spike pierced his chest, Gyokko turned in shock, only to see a man who looked even more demonic than he did.

The doctor, now fully transformed into his monstrous form, approached step by step, gripping a razor-sharp thorn.

It was a strange weapon—Gyokko had dodged multiple times, yet the thorn always managed to hit its mark.

Gyokko suspected that the man possessed some kind of ability that locked onto its target, making evasion completely ineffective.

Fortunately, the attacks weren’t too strong. As long as he was aware of the incoming strikes, blocking them wasn’t too difficult.

“Hmph, I shouldn’t bother with him. Dealing with that woman is more important.”

Taking advantage of Gyokko’s pause, Mitsuri charged forward like a whirlwind, her flexible Nichirin sword instantly enveloping him.

**Love Breathing, Second Form: Love Pangs of a Confused Heart!**

Why was Kanroji Mitsuri able to force Gyokko into revealing his true form?

Because even though her movement speed wasn’t the fastest, her attack speed was unparalleled among the nine Hashira. Her whip-like flexible sword could unleash strikes at a terrifying frequency that even surpassed the Sound Pillar.

Combined with her immense strength, this was the power that made Kanroji Mitsuri who she was.

One could fight defensively against her, but never in direct combat—this was the painful lesson Gyokko learned through blood and tears.

Watching his foe flee in a panic, the doctor sank into deep thought.

Inside his mind, chaos reigned.

“Hmph, did that fool just ignore me? How dare he! Let me take over!”

“Shut up! The gunman’s skills just weren’t suited to this enemy.”

“Oh, look who’s pretending to be the good guy now. Don’t forget, you were the first personality to emerge.”

“So what? I’m the one who loves him the most.”

Ever since the doctor could remember, he had been a subject of research at a psychiatric hospital.

Of course, he was mainly there as a patient, not a researcher.

The doctor suffered from a severe mental illness—seven distinct personalities resided within his mind.

This wasn’t simply a case of schizophrenia; each personality had independent thoughts and would periodically take control of his body.

Among these personalities was the doctor himself, and there was even a bizarre romance between two of the personalities.

The doctor’s childhood had been spent undergoing countless experiments.

It wasn’t until the personalities matured enough to mask their condition that he finally managed to escape the psychiatric hospital.

A lot happened afterward, until one day, by chance, the doctor and his six other personalities arrived in the Reincarnation Space.

There, his condition worsened, rather than improved, because the Reincarnation Space recognized it as an extremely rare and special talent.

Most Reincarnators had only one innate ability. Occasionally, some would have two.

But the doctor possessed seven—one for each personality, and none of them interfered with the others.

For example, the previous targeting ability was one of these seven talents. By expending 1 point of mental energy, he could launch an attack that never missed.

Unfortunately, Gyokko didn’t care about such trivial damage, leading to ridicule from the other personalities.

“Shut up, all of you.” Suddenly, one personality interrupted the argument inside the doctor’s mind. “We’re running low on mental energy. If we don’t want to die here, we’d better play it smart.”

Seeing everyone fall silent, this personality continued: “The enemy is agile, and our attacks aren’t strong enough. Our best option is to support that woman.”

“If we can predict the enemy’s next move, we can end this fight in an instant.”

As the words sank in, all the personalities understood what he meant and collectively turned their attention to a particular personality that had been asleep the entire time.

“Are you sure you want to wake him up? The so-called main personality with severe self-destructive tendencies?”

“What’s the alternative? Wait until that woman collapses from exhaustion and we all die together?”

Although the conversation between the personalities seemed to take a long time, in the outside world, it was merely an instant.

When the “doctor” raised his head again, his expression and demeanor had changed once more.

Canceling his monster transformation, he slowly approached the ongoing battle between the Love Pillar and Gyokko.

With empty eyes, he quietly observed the battlefield, not in any rush to intervene.

“It should be over here.”

Following the guidance of his qi perception, Fang Bo made his way toward the direction of the battle.

Moments earlier, he had felt the sudden disappearance of a powerful presence, signaling that the fight had reached its conclusion.

“Still too late, huh?” As he emerged from the forest and stepped onto the ravaged clearing, his eyes immediately fell upon the exhausted Kanroji Mitsuri, the Love Pillar, and the Reincarnator doctor, who was calmly collecting the spoils from the treasure chest.

It was clear that the two had teamed up to take down Gyokko.

Reflecting on the grueling battle he had just fought against Hantengu, Fang Bo could only imagine the ferocity of the fight that had just taken place.

To avoid any misunderstandings, Fang Bo didn’t move any closer. Instead, he glanced at the overjoyed Kanroji Mitsuri.

“Oh, you’re the newly appointed Spider Pillar, right?” Mitsuri greeted him warmly, waving her hand. In truth, she had been quietly observing him the moment he appeared.

Her final assessment: “Not particularly handsome, but he does have an artistic flair.” She instinctively added him to her mental list of potential romantic candidates.

Most people joined the Demon Slayer Corps with a desire for justice or to settle some personal vendetta.

But not Mitsuri—her sole focus was on finding love, likely due to her fear of missing out on marriage.

If Fang Bo knew what she was thinking, he might have comforted the poor girl.

After all, anyone who activated the Demon Slayer mark rarely lived past 25, so why worry about missing the chance to marry?

However, seeing her pitiful state, Fang Bo swallowed his words of comfort.

At the moment, his attention was more focused on the Reincarnator.

There weren’t many people who had entered the *Demon Slayer* world, and even fewer who had survived this long.

Since it was a cooperative mode, it wasn’t impossible that some were just coasting along, though Fang Bo didn’t care for those types.

The fact that this doctor had managed to work with the Love Pillar to defeat Gyokko meant his strength was far beyond Fang Bo’s expectations.

If he could be enlisted in the final battle, it would be a significant advantage.

There were still many powerful demons among the Twelve Kizuki, terrifying in their strength, and who knew what unforeseen events might occur along the way?

If possible, Fang Bo would certainly strengthen their forces, especially since the doctor seemed willing to pay a handsome reward for it.

Just as he was about to greet the doctor, the notification of the hidden task’s completion rang out ahead of time.
