RWWOKS Chapter 52

This entry is part 53 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Chapter 52: The Rampage of the Serpent’s Blood

As the figure slowly approached, all the reincarnators on the pirate faction couldn’t help but feel a chill in their hearts. An invisible pressure swept over them, like a tiger stealthily stalking its prey.

When Olsen finally stood in the center, the gunslinger from the Silver Fox team snapped out of his daze. The countdown was already at five seconds.

Four… three… two…

The gunslinger steadied himself, fingers instinctively brushing the handle of his revolver. He knew Olsen was fast—his team leader had been defeated by this man’s unexpected speed.

“I have to take him down with one shot, no way can I let him get close.”

His eyes moved to Olsen’s mechanical gloves. The gunslinger knew he’d use them to block. If that was the case, then sorry, but by the time you lift your arm, my bullet will have already put a hole in your head.

As the final second of the countdown hit, the revolver fired, and true to Vincenzo’s reputation, his quick-draw was blindingly fast. Olsen didn’t even have time to raise his mechanical gloves for defense.

A second passed after the gunshot, and both factions of reincarnators turned their attention to Olsen, waiting to see the result.

The man, who had kept his head down the entire time, continued walking forward at a leisurely pace, as if the person who had just been shot wasn’t him.

“What’s going on? Did he miss?” The onmyoji asked, confused.

Standing beside her, Fang Bo, with his heightened perception, had caught a glimpse of what had just happened.

At the moment the gun fired, Olsen made a subtle movement, tilting his head ever so slightly. It was an unconscious action, but it had perfectly avoided the trajectory of the bullet. It seemed like mere coincidence, but was it really?

Vincenzo seemed to think so. He took a step back, then started firing wildly with both hands, emptying his revolvers in Olsen’s direction.

In front of everyone’s eyes, the captain of NESTS began to move strangely. His body twisted and contorted in odd, almost comical ways. Yet no one laughed, because, despite his awkward movements, Olsen dodged every single bullet.

“What the…” Fang Bo squinted, masking his emotions. He recognized the technique—one that was particularly effective against gun-wielding reincarnators.

It was *Kami-e* (“Paper Drawing”), one of the *Rokushiki* techniques for defense.

By relaxing every muscle, the user could freely control their body like a drawing on paper. Without needing to actively dodge, the force of a bullet would naturally push the body aside, avoiding direct hits.

To use such a skill flawlessly would require immense mental strength. Fang Bo figured the best way to counter was to maintain constant fire, draining Olsen’s stamina until he could no longer sustain the technique.

Unfortunately, Vincenzo wasn’t as calm and collected as Fang Bo had hoped. Or perhaps he had mistaken the ability for some kind of natural talent.

Click. Click. Click. The revolver was out of bullets.

Taking advantage of the reload, Olsen stomped the ground furiously with one foot, launching himself forward at incredible speed.

*Shave!*

Previously, Olsen had used his phantom-like agility to dodge attacks and ambush enemies from their blind spots. But this time, he used the reactive force from his rapid stomps to propel himself straight at his opponent with explosive speed.

Before Vincenzo could react, Olsen’s hand was already on his throat.

Scarlet flames surged from Olsen’s palm, rapidly spreading from the point of contact and engulfing the gunslinger’s entire body in seconds.

“Ahhhh!!!”

Vincenzo screamed in agony, unable to escape the relentless flames.

Within moments, the protective mechanism was triggered, and Vincenzo collapsed to the ground, utterly defeated.

Casually shaking his arm to extinguish the flames, Olsen glanced coldly in the direction of the pirate faction. “Next.”

“Can’t avoid this, huh?” Gaining a steely resolve, Jushan drew his Zanpakuto and stepped toward the arena.

At this point, only he had the strength to face Olsen.

The current score stood at 9:9 between the Navy and Pirate factions—both had lost one fighter, maintaining an uneasy balance. But this would soon change after the next battle.

Whoever won this fight could potentially ride a wave of victories, as ordinary reincarnators would stand no chance against these super rookies.

This battle was crucial and could very well determine the outcome of the entire tournament.

“Can’t afford any mistakes,” the onmyoji muttered, clenching her fists. Her gaze drifted toward the man standing beside her.

If he stepped into the arena, could he hold his own against these monstrous super rookies?

Almost as if reading her thoughts, Fang Bo turned and gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t underestimate yourself. To others, you are a super rookie as well.”

After all, her Shikigami, the *Ubume*, was incredibly powerful, capable of holding its own even against Kuro in a short skirmish. Once she completed her destined task, *Ubume* would awaken into an even more terrifying entity. In the future, Ryuno would be on par with the two opponents standing before them.

Sticking to his principles, Fang Bo cast a perception scan toward Jushan, eager to see what kind of abilities the “Shinigami” possessed.

**ID 10834 (Trainee Shinigami)**

Attack Tendency: Low

Attribute Focus: Strength, Spirit, Constitution

Traits: Swordsmanship Genius, Shinigami

Threat Assessment: Slight Pressure

-Swordsmanship Genius: You possess unparalleled talent in swordsmanship, reducing the storyline point cost for learning sword skills.

-Shinigami: You are a trainee Shinigami from the Soul Society, wielding your own Zanpakuto.

At that moment, Fang Bo’s attention was focused entirely on the Zanpakuto, completely unaware of how valuable the reduced storyline point cost trait truly was.

As Jushan prepared his stance, releasing all his killing intent, every reincarnator present felt their hair stand on end.

The sheer intensity of his aura was even more terrifying than when Olsen effortlessly defeated the gunslinger.

“Here it comes.”

Without activating his Zanpakuto’s abilities, Jushan made a simple, ordinary slash. Yet, in an instant, the sword light split into three, making it impossible to distinguish which was the real blade.

**Secret Technique: Tsubame Gaeshi!**

What good is Olsen’s *Kami-e* (Paper Art) now?

Olsen had only recently acquired this skill and was far from mastering it. In contrast, Jushan had honed his Tsubame Gaeshi technique to an impressive Level 6.

-Tsubame Gaeshi, Level 3 Effect: Creates an additional phantom blade and increases sword speed by 20%.

-Tsubame Gaeshi, Level 6 Effect: Armor-piercing, ignores enemy armor defense.

With this strike, any reincarnator with less than 6 Constitution would be instantly killed. If it landed a critical hit, even someone with less than 10 Constitution would struggle to survive.

The Navy faction’s solidarity, where they could command warships to hunt down reincarnators in the pirate faction, might seem unfair in the eyes of others.

But the truth was simple: the pirate faction had a powerful ace up its sleeve.

At least on paper, when they first entered this storyline world, no one could rival the trainee Shinigami Jushan.

His concealed strength was meant to lull the opposition into complacency. Otherwise, why would the *NESTS* team so easily agree to a tournament-style battle?

With such a precise and deadly strike, there was no way Olsen could avoid it.

As the two fighters crossed paths, blood spurted from Olsen’s body, and his health dropped dangerously close to the protection threshold.

“It’s over.” Jushan turned around, preparing to finish off his opponent and knock him out of the tournament.

Just as he was about to act, something felt off.

Fang Bo and the Onmyoji girl, being the most sensitive in terms of perception, were the first to sense something wrong with the enemy.

“Watch out!” Fang Bo urgently shouted.

The sensation was difficult to describe, like an unspeakable horror awakening.

Did you see how pale the Onmyoji girl had gotten?

While others might be confused, Fang Bo knew very well that this disturbance was likely the result of the *Blood of the Great Serpent*.

Images of the berserk Iori Yagami and Leona flashed in his mind.

On the other side, Jushan heard Fang Bo’s warning and quickly realized that something was very wrong.

Without hesitation, he activated his Zanpakuto’s ability.

“Surge, Tidal Flow!”

Waves appeared out of nowhere, forming a fast-moving barrier of water around him.

However, Jushan’s face quickly turned pale with terror as if he had seen something incomprehensible.

“You… how…”

Just before the water barrier could fully form, the hunched figure of Olsen suddenly appeared before him, moving at a speed far beyond his earlier peak.

Before the water could fully envelop him, the rampaging Olsen delivered a brutal knee strike, sending Jushan flying over ten meters through the air.

Before Jushan could even hit the ground, the terrifying figure was already there.

With a reverse hammer strike, crimson flames bit into Jushan like ravenous crows.

“Argh!” The berserk Olsen roared like a wild beast, his swift movements impossible for the surrounding water currents to catch.

Jushan knew he was in trouble, but he was already losing control of his body.

Just as he heard the sound of Olsen’s roar, the next moment his vision was filled with countless fist shadows.

**MAX: Chain Drive!**

The relentless barrage completely overwhelmed Jushan, the sheer speed of the punches and kicks far beyond what any reincarnator could endure at this stage.

Halfway through the combo, the arena’s protection mechanism finally activated.

The once-dominant Jushan was taken down in one violent, frenzied attack by the rampaging Olsen.

As the berserk Olsen let out a victorious roar toward the sky, the reincarnators of the pirate faction stood frozen, none daring to step forward.

It was clear to everyone that Olsen had used some kind of forbidden power.

Abilities like that often had severe time limits. All they had to do was wait, and they’d win without even fighting.

Even as the Navy faction taunted them, the pirate faction stood firm, pretending not to hear a word of the insults.

After about half a minute, Olsen’s trembling body suddenly stopped, and he collapsed backward onto the ground.

In truth, that battle had ended in a draw.

“Well, that worked out perfectly,” someone murmured with a laugh.
