MWM Chapter 356

This entry is part 357 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Ah!”

At that moment, a miserable scream echoed from the area where the Gold Saint’s treasure chest was.

Everyone turned their heads and saw that the strongest Dark Dragon, under the assault of the eight Dark Saints controlled by Leo’s shadow clones, had finally been knocked to the ground.

However, those eight Dark Saints controlled by Leo were also barely recognizable at this point.

“To think that even the mighty Lord Ikki has fallen in the end!”

The Dark Dragon lay on the ground, gazing at Ikki’s lifeless body, his eyes dimming.

“Dragon, let’s return to Death Queen Island and never come out again.”

The Dark Andromeda, filled with terror, rushed over to the Dark Dragon’s side, picked him up, and leaped away from the arena in a few bounds.

Hyoga, showing no mercy, easily killed the Dark Cygnus, who was far weaker than him. Seiya, being closer in strength to his opponent, couldn’t hold back and ended up fatally wounding the Dark Pegasus.

However, the kind-hearted Shun had shown mercy when defeating the Dark Andromeda, leaving him with only minor injuries.

After seeing both the powerful Ikki and the strongest Dark Dragon defeated, the Dark Andromeda lost the will to fight and chose to retreat back to Death Queen Island with the Dark Dragon.

No one tried to stop them.

After all, these Dark Saints were merely pawns following orders, and neither of them had caused much harm.

“Brother Leo, since when do you have a twin?”

With everything settled, everyone turned their gaze to the Leo shadow clone standing next to the Gold Cloth, their eyes filled with astonishment.

It was truly identical—same height, same appearance, even the clothes and hairstyle were exactly the same. It was uncanny.

Even for twins, this was too identical.

“Oh, that’s not a twin. It’s just one of my abilities.”

Leo dispelled the shadow clone, and the other Leo by the Gold Cloth vanished into a puff of smoke.

“You… how many abilities do you have?”

Everyone couldn’t help but twitch their mouths at this sight.

From healing at the start, to summoning water dragons, space manipulation, illusions, peacock techniques, and now clones—especially this clone! It wasn’t just a simple decoy to confuse the enemy. The clone had real abilities, controlling its body and mind, and even defeated the strong Dark Dragon.

It was as if Leo’s abilities alone were close to the sum of all their powers combined.

And to top it off, this guy still didn’t have a Cloth, which was just absurd.

“Is everyone okay?”

After ordering her subordinates to evacuate the audience, Saori Kido arrived at the arena with her butler Tatsumi.

Leo smiled and replied, “We’re all fine, but it looks like the Galactic Tournament can’t continue.”

Sanctuary had sent Ikki and the Dark Saints to steal the Gold Cloth. Since they had failed, they certainly wouldn’t give up so easily. Sanctuary would likely send more Saints in the future.

Besides, they needed to figure out why Sanctuary wanted to steal the Gold Cloth in the first place.

“I’ve already announced the tournament’s suspension. There are some things I want to discuss with all of you.”

Though she wasn’t at the scene earlier, Saori had heard Ikki’s words through the arena’s advanced technology.

Hearing this, everyone exchanged glances and nodded.

They also wanted to learn from Saori Kido why Mitsumasa Kido had sent them to different parts of the world to fight for their Cloths, and why he had organized the Galactic Tournament.

“Brother Leo, I’m sorry. This really wasn’t your problem, but we dragged you into it.”

On the way to the Kido family mansion, Seiya scratched the back of his head apologetically.

Originally, Leo had been traveling the world, but because of them, he ended up getting involved in battles and even a grand conspiracy. Seiya felt deeply guilty.

Leo, however, smiled and patted Seiya on the shoulder.

“Don’t worry about it. We’re friends, aren’t we?

Besides, the Saints’ mission is to uphold justice, sweep away darkness, and protect the weak. Even though I don’t have my own Cloth yet and don’t count as a true Saint, I’ve gained a lot from this experience. During this battle, I could feel my Cosmo becoming stronger, so in a way, it was training.”

He wasn’t just making this up. His Cosmo had indeed grown stronger after this battle.

There were only two main ways for a Saint to enhance their Cosmo. One was through innate talent, where simply sitting and meditating would allow them to increase their Cosmo until they reached the Seventh Sense and attained the power of a Gold Saint.

The other method, which most used, was the endless cycle of fighting, getting injured, gaining insight, and repeating. This method was especially effective when facing a stronger Cosmo.

Of course, fighting a much stronger Cosmo often meant risking death, and not everyone had the willpower or luck of the Bronze Five.

There were also shortcut methods, such as losing the five senses, receiving Athena’s divine blessings, or experiencing a burst of willpower that exceeded limits. These could also significantly boost strength, but they weren’t as stable as the first two methods. One could temporarily reach Gold Saint levels, only to fall back after the effect wore off.

Even falling back, however, still resulted in some progress.

Leo’s ability to defeat Ikki wasn’t because his Cosmo was stronger, but rather due to the powers he had gained from other worlds. So in a way, he was also fighting beyond his level, leading to an increase in his Cosmo.

The only thing was that, without mental stress, his improvement wasn’t as noticeable as Seiya and the others.

That was inevitable. Even if Leo purposely avoided using other powers and only relied on his Cosmo in battle, even allowing himself to be battered like Seiya and his friends, he still wouldn’t be able to rapidly strengthen his Cosmo.

Seiya and the others truly felt they were in danger, pushed to their limits. If they didn’t ignite their Cosmo, they would die.

But Leo knew perfectly well that he wasn’t in any real danger. He wasn’t going to die. Without that life-threatening pressure, his Cosmo wouldn’t surpass its limits.

He couldn’t just challenge a Gold Saint to a duel—that might actually put him in real danger, but it wasn’t worth it.

If he really died, wouldn’t that be foolish?

He had so many other worlds and so many safer ways to steadily increase his strength, so why choose the most reckless one?

To put it bluntly, even if this world’s Holy War ended in failure and the Earth was ruled by Hades, the god of the underworld, and turned into a dead star, he could simply choose not to return.

So, unless there were special circumstances, he would always choose to steadily increase his Cosmo. After all, he had all the time and lifespan he needed.

Hearing Leo’s words, Seiya, who was simple-minded, was moved.

“Why don’t we ask Saori Kido to give you that Gold Cloth after this is over? You don’t have a Cloth, and if it weren’t for you today, that Cloth would’ve been stolen by Ikki.”

He genuinely thought that the powerful, righteous, and kind-hearted Leo was the perfect match for that legendary Gold Cloth.

And besides, Leo still didn’t have a Cloth to wear.
