- FLDI Chapter 208
Boom.
Boom, boom, boom.
The terrifying thunder roared, and powerful energy poured down. The knight regiment led by Lyan Water was completely submerged in a sea of thunder.
Thor had previously obtained quite a few third-tier magic cores from the Minotaur Tribe, and over the past few days, he had carefully gathered even more.
This time, he had brought ten Magic Crystal Cannons with him.
Three rounds of bombardment meant thirty strikes would Rayne down.
Even the defense points along the northern front lines couldn’t withstand this kind of power.
Under such terrifying force, with no Earth Knights to block the attacks, the entire Lyan Knight regiment collapsed in no time.
In comparison, the battle involving the Earth Knights lasted a bit longer.
Thor didn’t intervene at all.
He simply waited quietly for the results.
As the sky slowly turned to dusk, the war on Lyan Water’s side came to an end first.
With Chessier, a late-stage Earth Knight, and even though Rachos brought along an Earth Knight who had just broken through, the three of them quickly overwhelmed Lyan Water’s forces.
“Pfft!”
Blood sprayed into the air as the head of one Earth Knight flew off. A second Earth Knight beside Lyan Water stared wide-eyed before his body crashed to the ground.
“Feren!”
A shocked exclamation rang out, and the remaining Earth Knight’s face changed.
But the next moment, he felt a sharp pain in his chest.
Boom!
A lance pierced straight through his chest, the immense force propelling his body backwards.
Thud!
A dull sound rang out as his body slammed into the ground. Before he could rise, another figure appeared above him, holding a knight’s spear, looking down coldly.
“If you don’t want to die, then don’t move. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee that I won’t rip your heart out next.”
The calm words froze him in place.
As he stopped, the two other knights, along with Lyan Water, quickly subdued him.
Lyan Water’s body fell to the ground with a loud crash, and a knight’s longsword was pressed to his neck.
Feeling the chill from the blade, Lyan’s body stiffened, and he, too, stopped struggling.
At that moment, the battle in the distance came to an end.
Michael emerged, dragging a figure that looked like a dead dog. This person had a massive wound that almost pierced through his entire body, and blood was still pouring out. His breath had become faint and weak.
Seeing this, Thor couldn’t help but smile.
He walked over casually.
“Dresrosa, I’m done for!”
Lyan Water’s voice was filled with anger, yet also a sense of resignation. “But do you think you can swallow such huge benefits? A peak Earth Knight, three Earth Knights—that’s powerful, yes. But with just that, you’ll soon see other noble heirs taking their share.”
“Even with the Bloody Knight at your side, you won’t be able to keep it all.”
Thor’s expression remained calm as he listened to Lyan Water. He didn’t care much for these words. His strength went far beyond what had been shown so far.
Not only had he not used his full power, but neither had Lyan, Marshall, or even the Dresrosa family’s additional Earth Knights, who would be arriving soon.
Of course, he didn’t feel the need to share that with Lyan Water.
“Hmph!”
Lyan Water’s expression darkened further as he let out a cold snort. “I hope that in a few days, you’ll still be smiling like that.”
Thor smiled faintly and nodded. He let his knights take the prisoners to the rear.
“Steve, tell the miners to help clear the battlefield. Also, for every official knight who held their ground at the mine, reward them with ten gold coins; for the Earth Knights, reward fifty gold coins each.”
Thor glanced toward the distance and then gave Steve his orders.
“Understood!”
Steve respectfully replied, then quickly spurred his horse toward the miners.
Even without Thor’s instructions, the knights stationed at the mine had already started directing the goblins to clear the battlefield.
When Steve and the others arrived, the looks of the miners and knights changed upon seeing them.
They had witnessed the battle firsthand. Even now, recalling the terrifying energy release sent chills down their spines.
Even the hired Earth Knight seemed nervous.
“My lord!”
As Steve approached, the Earth Knight even took the initiative to salute.
“My lord has ordered that all knights who defended the mine will be rewarded—ten gold coins for official knights and fifty gold coins for Earth Knights.”
Steve made no corrections but calmly spoke the words.
“Thank you, my lord!”
“Thank you, my lord!”
Upon hearing Steve’s words, the previously nervous and anxious knights suddenly broke into smiles, their voices rising in cheer.
“Thank you, my lord!”
Even the Earth Knight’s eyes lit up. Fifty gold coins was no small sum, even for someone of his rank. He hadn’t expected such a reward for merely holding on for a short while, especially with no losses.
“Alright, let’s get the area cleaned up quickly.”
Once the noise settled down, Steve spoke again.
“Understood!”
“Understood!”
The voices were even louder now.
After making the arrangements, Steve’s figure swiftly returned to Thor’s side.
Thor and his group were ready to leave. The members of Lyan Water’s knight regiment who had fled would carry the information they needed to spread.
What Thor now had to wait for was for the news to spread and stir things up.
There was no more reason to stay in the west.
However, just as he was about to depart…
A loud rumbling sound suddenly shook the ground, and a knight regiment appeared in their line of sight.
The unexpected arrival of this knight regiment startled everyone. But soon, they noticed the eagle insignia raised high on their banner.
On the other side, the hurriedly arriving Bablus also spotted Thor and the others.
At first, when he noticed them, he was startled, but soon realized it was Thor’s group.
This made Bablus freeze for a moment.
He had been trying to contact Thor but hadn’t been able to reach him. He had assumed Thor had been caught up in something, but he hadn’t expected to find him here.
Looking around at the signs of battle, Bablus quickly deduced that a fight had taken place just recently.
As he glanced at the bound figures, a look of shock appeared on his face.
Of course, shock aside, Bablus quickly dismounted and approached Thor, saluting respectfully.
“Lord Thor!”
His voice was respectful, but his eyes kept glancing toward the figures tied up in the distance.
“Bablus, your reaction time isn’t fast enough.”
“By the time you arrived, everything here was already over.”
Thor’s tone was calm but stern.
“Understood!”
“This was my oversight. I will forfeit my share of the commission this month.”
Bablus nodded and spoke softly.
“No need,” Thor said with a dismissive wave. “There were no significant losses this time. Just be more careful next time.”
“Also, the upcoming turmoil won’t be small. Stay within your territory as much as possible, to avoid any surprises.”
Thor’s gaze deepened as he looked at Bablus before speaking again.
“Understood!”
Bablus nodded without a word of rebuttal.
This time, it was indeed his fault. If it hadn’t been for Thor, he could hardly imagine what the consequences would have been.
“Bablus, I’ll leave the cleanup to you from here on. Also, make sure to tally up the rewards and report them later,” Thor said softly as he mounted his horse.
“Understood!”
Bablus nodded.
He didn’t protest at all, even though Thor’s words were essentially a command.
But Bablus still accepted it without hesitation.
Over the past period of time, the entire Eagle Chamber of Commerce, whether it was the heirs of the Dresrosa family or figures like Bablus, Rachos, or Joza, had all begun to see the limitless opportunities that followed Thor.
As time passed, these people had begun to adjust their positions accordingly.
After Bablus acknowledged his orders, Thor gave a final glance before leading his group back to the Eagle Territory.
This time, compared to their initial covert arrival, their return was far more open and bold.
Soon, they caught the attention of several expansion lords.
Most of the lords were puzzled by Thor’s sudden appearance.
However, this confusion did not last long.
As they marched along, something quickly caught the attention of the lords.
Thor’s group was leading a number of prisoners, and some keen-eyed people noticed the Water family crest among them.
That revelation immediately caused a stir among the expansion lords.
It wasn’t long before the western region was buzzing with rumors.
And as the word spread…
It wasn’t just a ripple anymore—it was like a heavy bomb dropped on them.
“My goddess, what am I seeing?”
“Heavens, what is this about Lyan Water? Can someone please tell me what happened?”
“By the goddess, this can’t be real.”
“Filus, there’s no ‘can’t be.’ I just got word that Lyan Water led a knight regiment to attack the Eagle Chamber of Commerce’s territory, only to run into a prepared Thor Dresrosa. They were utterly defeated, and the knight regiment was nearly wiped out, with Lyan Water himself being captured by Thor.”
“No way, the Dresrosa family, how could they possibly capture Lyan Water?”
“I told you, nothing is impossible. That Count Engel sent the Bloody Knight to help his son, and there was also the Shadow Knight.”
“Ugh, the Bloody Knight? My gods, has the Dresrosa family lost its mind? Such a figure sent to help his son? Shouldn’t he be saving that kind of power for his successor?”
“I can’t believe it either, but it’s true. Some people saw the Bloody Knight and the Shadow Knight with their own eyes.”
“This… this!”
“Damn it, is it me who’s crazy, or is the world insane?”
“Damn it!”
A cacophony of voices filled the air, with most people overwhelmed by shock and disbelief.
Lyan Water was the heir of a powerful marquis family from the kingdom, not like the previous Water family heir, but a direct descendant. He was one of the most prominent figures in the western region.
Yet, he was defeated so easily by Thor.
Everyone’s first instinct was to dismiss it as impossible.
But as more members of Lyan Water’s knight regiment spread the news, they couldn’t help but believe it.
And once they did, an even more chilling revelation reached their ears.
Count Engel had sent Michael and Chessier to aid Thor.
Michael, a peak Earth Knight, might not be as well-known in the Tulip Kingdom, but within the Earth Knight ranks, his reputation was enormous.
The Bloody Knight’s name alone was enough to strike fear into countless families in the Frostmoon Province. Even noble heirs from other provinces had heard of this legendary Earth Knight.
Now, this figure had appeared in the Northern Province, right next to Thor.
This revelation made many of the expansion lords who knew Michael’s name tremble in fear.
Of course, Thor was unaware of their shock at the time.
Seven days later, he returned to the Eagle Territory with his prisoners.
After securing Lyan Water, he began preparing for the next phase of his plan.
This action, however, was just the beginning.

In his study, Thor summoned Rachos, who had just returned.
“My lord, you called for me?”
Rachos looked a little tired, his face showing signs of the past month’s hard work. He had been busy networking with various expansion knights and had only recently found some time to rest.
He had barely had any time to manage his own territory.
“Rachos, have the people from the Eagle Chamber of Commerce work with the fleeing members of the knight regiment to spread the news further,” Thor said, tapping the desk thoughtfully after Rachos spoke.
Rachos didn’t reply immediately, understanding the weight of Thor’s words, before he nodded.
