FLDI Chapter 210

This entry is part 211 of 211 in the series Fantasy Lord: Start with Daily Intelligence

Moravi Spencer’s voice slowly echoed through the room, and with it, the entire banquet hall fell into silence. The heirs of powerful noble families furrowed their brows, and their expressions became solemn.

They naturally understood what Moravi Spencer was implying.

Before this, it wasn’t just Lyan Water who considered the Eagle Chamber of Commerce and the Dresrosa family to be pushovers—everyone present, without exception, had treated both as easy targets.

After all, compared to the Dresrosa family, they were marquis families, some even belonging to powerful marquis families.

The Dresrosa family was merely a count family; it was hard for them to take it seriously.

But now, the situation had completely changed. With the Bloody Knight, the Shadow Knight, and the three Earth Knights sent by the Dresrosa family, the Eagle Chamber of Commerce’s number of Earth Knights had now far exceeded anything they could muster.

Their strength had surpassed theirs entirely, especially with the arrival of the Bloody Knight.

Even one or two of their families might find it hard to take down the Eagle Chamber of Commerce.

“Lord Moravi Spencer, you didn’t summon us here just to talk about this, did you?”

In the midst of the heavy silence, a figure suddenly spoke.

As he spoke, all the other noble heirs turned their gaze toward Moravi Spencer.

Some were puzzled.

Some were thoughtful.

Some were focused.

Moravi Spencer let out a slight breath, his gaze sweeping across the twenty or so people in the room before finally returning his attention to them. His voice, though low, resonated throughout the hall.

“Indeed, I didn’t gather you here just to discuss this. I have an idea, and I’d like to see what you think of it.”

His voice wasn’t loud, but the moment he spoke, the entire banquet hall fell silent.

In that silence, his words became even clearer.

“Lord Moravi, please go ahead.”

In the quiet, one person finally spoke, his voice deep and respectful.

The others nodded slightly, their brows furrowed, but they were also waiting attentively.

“My plan is simple,” Moravi Spencer continued. “We form an alliance. Although we don’t know exactly what the Dresrosa family wants, even if they are planning to expand into the Northern Province, if we unite, we have no reason to worry. Together, we can easily seize the resource points the Eagle Chamber of Commerce currently controls. And not only that—we could take even more.”

As he spoke, the room became still, the noble heirs’ expressions shifting.

Even those who had suspected this outcome were momentarily taken aback.

“An alliance?”

Someone instinctively voiced his surprise, while others furrowed their brows in thought.

“Yes, an alliance!”

Moravi Spencer nodded, his tone firm.

“With our combined strength, no single family, or even a couple of families, could take on the Eagle Chamber of Commerce. Let alone the entire Dresrosa family.”

“You may have your reasons for wanting to go to the Northern Province, but one thing is certain: none of you have succession rights in your families. Others might not realize it, but we should all know that the support from our families is likely coming to an end. It’s unlikely we’ll receive any further assistance. So, from here on out, the road ahead is one we’ll have to walk on our own.”

“And, as many of you probably already know, some of the heirs from those three families have already set their sights on the Northern Province. Once they arrive, our opportunities will likely vanish.”

Moravi Spencer’s low voice seemed to strike a chord with everyone present. His words caused the atmosphere in the hall to tighten, and many stood up in response.

“Lord Moravi, is this true? Those three families have heirs coming?”

One of the noble heirs couldn’t help but ask, looking directly at Moravi Spencer.

As he spoke, many others grew tense as well.

Moravi’s concerns were also their concerns.

If the heirs from those three families arrived, the situation in the Northern Province would change dramatically, and they might not stand a chance.

“It’s true,” Moravi Spencer said, his gaze steady. “One of the heirs from the Adams family, Stihl Adams, is already on his way to the Northern Province. He should arrive in no more than two months.”

Seeing the tension rising in the room, Moravi Spencer nodded again and spoke in a deeper tone.

His confirmation sent a wave of murmurings through the room.

Voices mixed, growing louder.

The noble heirs were visibly shaken.

It took a while for the noise to settle down.

“Everyone, I’m sure you’ve understood by now. Our time is running out.”

“If the Eagle Chamber of Commerce can form alliances with other lords, then we can do the same. If we unite, we can not only seize these resource points, but even if those three powerful noble heirs arrive, we still have a chance.”

Moravi Spencer’s words seemed to carry a persuasive weight, stirring the hearts of the gathered noble heirs.

Many couldn’t help but imagine the possibilities.

Their breathing grew heavier.

Indeed, the three families’ heirs were more powerful, but if they joined forces, even in the face of those three heirs, they wouldn’t be outmatched. In fact, they would likely be stronger.

After all, just like them, those heirs weren’t the true successors of their families. The heirs from the three top marquis families—did that mean they were all successors?

As long as they weren’t heirs, their power would be limited.

And that limited power would never stand up to the strength of their united front.

There were twenty-seven noble heirs present, and most of them came from marquis families.

Each one of them had at least one Earth Knight under their command. Just counting the Earth Knights, their combined number exceeded forty—such a force could easily rival that of the true marquis families.

Let alone just the family heirs.

This fact was clear to all the noble heirs present.

In the midst of their excitement, some began to think more deeply about the issue.

“Lord Moravi, how should we go about forming this alliance?”

Amid the shifting thoughts, someone finally spoke up.

“Yes, Lord Moravi, how do we form the alliance?”

“And how should we divide the resource points?”

“Yes, yes, Lord Moravi!”

As one person spoke, others quickly joined in, and soon, a chorus of voices rose, all eyes turning back to Moravi Spencer.

“Everyone, here’s my proposal.”

Clearly, Moravi Spencer had prepared for this moment. As he spoke, he waved his hand, and servants quickly delivered a set of documents to the noble heirs.

“What is this?”

Seeing the papers, the heirs looked at each other in confusion, but they instinctively took the documents and began to read.

Their eyes quickly focused on the papers, and their minds were drawn into the details.

Some of them narrowed their eyes, casting strange looks at Moravi Spencer.

Others were completely absorbed in the plan.

Moravi Spencer didn’t mind the curious glances. He knew that some had likely realized his plan was based on the Eagle Chamber of Commerce’s alliance blueprint.

But so what? He was merely using it for his own purposes.

It wasn’t like only the Eagle Chamber of Commerce could make such a plan.

With an impassive expression, Moravi Spencer waited for the noble heirs to finish reading. Then, his voice rang out again.

“Everyone, what do you think of this alliance proposal?”

As Moravi Spencer spoke, some of the heirs furrowed their brows, but they nodded nonetheless.

Of course, some had reservations.

“Lord Moravi, this alliance plan—don’t you think the proportion of Grand Knights is too small? Just one in ten thousand?”

A voice called out.

Soon, others joined in.

Most of these voices came from the weaker marquis families and the two count families.

In the proposal, Earth Knights were assigned a 2% share, but the Grand Knights were given only one in ten thousand. Despite the difference between Earth Knights and Grand Knights, the disparity was enormous.

“Hmph, Grand Knights, one in ten thousand is already quite generous. This competition will naturally revolve around the Earth Knights,” someone interrupted before Moravi could respond.

“Yes, Earth Knights are the key. The role of Grand Knights in this alliance will be minimal.”

“Superl, you’re right.”

Some disagreed, while others agreed.

Soon, arguments broke out.

For a moment, the banquet hall was filled with chaos.

Until…

“Boom!”

A tremendous burst of life energy suddenly erupted.

In an instant, the entire banquet hall fell silent.

Everyone immediately looked up, their gazes turning toward Moravi. Eyes widened in shock, their expressions filled with disbelief.

“Moravi, you… you broke through?”

As they felt the immense surge of life energy, some couldn’t help but murmur to themselves.

Their hearts stirred uncontrollably.

Because at this moment, the life energy Moravi was emitting clearly indicated that he had reached the late stage of Earth Knight, with the peak of Earth Knight seemingly just one step away.

How old was Moravi now? No more than forty, at most.

In the context of knights, he was still considered a youth.

To break through to Earth Knight at this age was already a sign of extraordinary talent.

But to everyone’s astonishment, not only had Moravi broken through to Earth Knight, but he had already reached the late stage.

Facing the stunned and incredulous gazes of everyone, Moravi Spencer remained calm and composed.

“Enough!”

“Everyone, this is my proposal. If you have any objections, feel free to opt out. There’s no compulsion here.”

His deep voice echoed through the hall as his eyes swept over every single person present, a cold light flickering in them.

This caused several figures to lower their heads.

Even those who had voiced objections earlier, the ones who had spoken out, did the same.

At this moment, the power Moravi displayed made their hearts race. Such talent meant that, in the future, he had an 80% chance of breaking through to Sky Knight.

Even the heirs of their own families, the marquis successors, couldn’t be certain of such a chance at breaking through to Sky Knight.

Of course, that wasn’t the main concern.

The key point was that such a gifted individual had left the Spencer family and made his way to the Northern Province. This made them think a little too much.

Some even found certain thoughts rising in their minds—thoughts they couldn’t suppress.

But those thoughts, just as they appeared, startled them.

They quickly forced them down.

After all, whether the Spencer family had any ulterior motives, they couldn’t say for certain. But when it came to their own families, they knew for sure.

And the truth was—there was no such intention.

At this moment, if they voiced any opposition, they genuinely feared the consequences.

Anyone who had grown up safely among the noble heirs knew that no one was a fool.

“Lord Moravi, we have no objections!”

“Let’s proceed as Lord Moravi has suggested!”

“Yes, indeed!”

“We are willing to follow Lord Moravi’s lead.”

Voices echoed from all sides, and in an instant, the noise in the banquet hall vanished completely. The entire scene became remarkably harmonious.

Even though some still had lingering doubts, amidst the chorus of agreement, no one raised any objections.

With everyone in agreement, the preliminary planning for the newly-formed alliance of pioneering lords was finalized under Moravi Spencer’s guidance.

The twenty-seven pioneering lords gathered.

On the surface, this force had completely surpassed the Eagle Chamber of Commerce’s strength.

Among them, the number of Earth Knights wasn’t just forty—it had reached forty-two. The number of Grand Knights was undoubtedly even higher, totaling over a hundred.

Such a vast power could rival even that of Marquis Lehman.

After all, although Marquis Lehman was a marquis, as a newly-appointed one, his strength was the weakest among the marquis.

The number of Earth Knights in his ranks couldn’t even compare to those of some of the stronger count families.

Though Marquis Lehman had reached the peak of Earth Knight himself, with a record of fighting four-tiered orcs, he was still far behind the might of Moravi’s alliance.
