GROIKTP Chapter 387

This entry is part 307 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

Chen Ye, with his keen senses, had already noticed the jet hovering in the sky above. Hearing the little girl’s excited cheer, he realized that by 2023, the X-Men were quite famous in this world, especially among mutants.

The jet slowly descended and landed on an open field nearby.

Then, the hatch opened.

Several mutants stepped out one after another.

The first to emerge was Wolverine, dressed in his uniform. Next came Professor X, seated in his wheelchair, with Storm following behind, helping push the chair. The last to appear was Magneto.

There were four mutants in total.

And these four were among the most powerful mutants in the world today.

Especially Professor X and Magneto, both of whom possessed the power to wipe out all of humanity if they wished…

Chen Ye, being familiar with the storyline, knew these iconic figures all too well.

He even knew how tragic Wolverine and Professor X’s lives would be in their later years…

If this had been when he first crossed into this world, Chen Ye might have felt the thrill of meeting idols.

But now?

Chen Ye was calm.

In terms of strength, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he could easily crush all four of them!

First off, the system had automatically blocked any psychic abilities from affecting him, preventing any mental invasion or mind-reading attempts by others.

Simply put, the system was designed to guard against the likes of Professor X.

So, Professor X’s powers were entirely useless against Chen Ye.

Storm could control the weather and summon powerful meteorological attacks, with her most potent weapon being lightning. But this was precisely the type of power Chen Ye had no fear of.

After all, he wore the Thunder God’s Ring, which granted him immunity to lightning attacks!

As for Wolverine, Logan probably wouldn’t even be able to get close to Chen Ye…

The only real threat to Chen Ye was Magneto.

But even then, Magneto could only cause him some minor trouble. Breaking through Chen Ye’s defenses? Not likely.

In fact, if there were no metal around, Magneto would be no different from an ordinary person.

In a serious fight, taking down all four of them would be no challenge for Chen Ye.

They weren’t even on the same level anymore, so Chen Ye felt no excitement at seeing these former idols.

He remained calm and composed.

However, the four mutants, upon seeing Chen Ye, had a different reaction.

They had all just witnessed how Chen Ye had obliterated the Sentinel aircraft and effortlessly dismantled six Sentinels. They had a rough understanding of his terrifying strength.

They knew full well how powerful Sentinels were, which made Chen Ye’s abilities all the more impressive.

“Oh my gosh! It’s Storm, she’s my idol…” The little girl standing beside Chen Ye was full of excitement, her voice barely a whisper.

Storm noticed the girl’s excitement and gave her a kind smile.

At that moment, Professor X, looking at Chen Ye, suddenly showed a look of surprise. “Young man, you’re not a mutant?”

“What?” Wolverine and the others were equally shocked upon hearing this.

Not a mutant?

Then how could he possess such extraordinary power?

“Professor, are you sure he’s not one of us?” Storm asked, not doubting Professor X’s ability to identify mutants, but rather astonished at the possibility.

If this man wasn’t a mutant, how could he have such incredible strength?

Professor X didn’t reply immediately, still staring at Chen Ye in amazement.

He couldn’t resist using his telepathic abilities to probe for answers, even though he had previously stated that he wouldn’t easily invade another person’s mind. The current situation was exceptional enough to warrant using his powers.

The moment Professor X activated his telepathy, Chen Ye received a system prompt:

“Warning: Detected mental invasion attempt. The system has automatically blocked it…”

Upon hearing the system’s notification, Chen Ye chuckled and said, “Professor Charles, invading someone’s mind without permission is rather rude, don’t you think?”

Professor X was slightly taken aback.

He could feel that his powers weren’t working on Chen Ye. It was as if some kind of powerful shield was preventing his telepathy from sensing the man right in front of him.

“You know me?” Professor X asked, still perplexed.

“Of course. Who doesn’t know the famous ‘Professor X’?” Chen Ye responded with a smile.

Professor X gave Chen Ye a deep look. “But I’ve never heard of you…”

“Hey, kid, who the hell are you?” Wolverine bluntly asked, his usual gruffness coming through.

“Hello, Wolverine,” Chen Ye replied. “Who I am isn’t important. What’s important is why you’ve descended from the sky. Surely, you’re not just here to say hello?”

“This isn’t the place to talk,” Professor X said. “Young man, since you know who we are, you should also know we mean no harm. If you don’t mind, why not come aboard the jet, and we can talk as we go?”

Hearing the invitation, Chen Ye paused for a moment, quickly understanding Professor X’s intention.

Being familiar with the story, Chen Ye knew that at this point in time, Professor X had devised a plan to save the mutants. The plan involved sending Wolverine back to the 1970s to prevent the creation of the Sentinels.

It was a dangerous plan, and avoiding Sentinel interference was a key challenge.

Clearly, Professor X had taken notice of Chen Ye’s combat abilities and was hoping to recruit him.

After a brief moment of thought, Chen Ye smiled and agreed, “Alright.”

Chen Ye wasn’t acting on a whim; everything he did was part of his larger plan.

Hearing Chen Ye’s agreement, Professor X breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

If Chen Ye had refused, it would have taken a lot more convincing, and the risk of exposure would have increased. After all, all four of them were prime targets for the Sentinels.

Storm also breathed a sigh of relief, then glanced at the little girl.

“Hey, little one, would you like to come with us?”

The girl’s face showed hesitation before she shook her head. “My mother is waiting for me to return…”

Storm looked a little disappointed but didn’t press further. “Well, then, I wish you luck.”

Chen Ye added, “Kid, you’d better leave here quickly. More Sentinel forces should be on their way soon.”

Hearing this, the little girl shuddered in fear and nodded quickly. “Okay.”

She watched as Chen Ye and the others boarded the jet, and after it took off, she hurriedly packed her things and left the area.
