GROIKTP Chapter 400

This entry is part 320 of 534 in the series Global Reincarnation: Only i Know the Plot

Mutants had their own networks.

In these circles, whenever something significant happened, word spread quickly.

The attack on Xavier’s School!

This event was already a major topic in the mutant community.

Soon enough, almost all mutants were aware of it.

Including the Brotherhood.

At this moment.

In a dimly lit basement.

Magneto was holding a photograph, his eyes fixed on the person in the picture.

The photo had been printed from security footage, clearly showing the scene at Xavier’s School, and the person in the picture was the mysterious man who had invaded the school earlier today—a Chinese man.

Magneto had already received word that this man had taken Rogue.

Rogue was a key figure in Magneto’s plan, someone he absolutely needed.

But he had also heard that the man who had invaded the school and taken Rogue was incredibly powerful…

This thought made Magneto’s expression darken.

However, no matter the difficulty, he couldn’t afford to abandon Rogue. Without her, his entire plan would fall apart.

For the future of mutants, Magneto couldn’t allow his plan to fail.

“Where is he now?” Magneto asked.

The basement seemed empty, with only Magneto present.

It looked as though he was talking to himself.

But the next moment, a voice came from the shadows: “In a hotel.”

Magneto stood up. “Take me there!”

Suddenly.

A shadowy figure leaped from the corner.

The figure was human but moved like a toad, jumping forward in great leaps.

A pigeon flew across the basement, and as the shadowy figure saw it, its mouth shot out a long tongue, capturing the pigeon and pulling it into its mouth, swallowing it whole.

Magneto wasn’t fazed by this.

This was one of the Brotherhood’s members, a close subordinate of Magneto’s. His mutant ability was similar to a toad’s—he had incredible jumping power, and his primary weapon was his tongue.

Magneto also had two other trusted subordinates, Sabretooth and Mystique, both of whom were currently off on missions.

8:00 PM.

In a presidential suite at a hotel.

Chen Ye was sitting on the couch, watching TV.

Beside him, on a chair, sat Rogue, looking nervous and restless.

It was already dark.

Soon, it would be time to sleep.

What if!

What if this man tried to force her… what would she do?

The more Rogue thought about it, the more anxious she became.

In truth, she wasn’t too scared, as her abilities were strange enough that anyone who touched her skin would have their energy and powers absorbed by her.

What made her nervous was the uncertainty of what might happen next…

Just then.

Outside the large floor-to-ceiling windows of the hotel, a figure floated toward them from a distance.

It was the middle-aged Magneto.

With his ability to manipulate magnetic fields, he could also fly.

Accompanying Magneto were several small, egg-sized metal pellets hovering in the air behind him.

As soon as he spotted Rogue and Chen Ye through the windows, Magneto didn’t hesitate.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

The metal pellets, under Magneto’s control, instantly accelerated, shooting through the glass windows like bullets.

Then.

They headed straight for Chen Ye’s head, intent on killing him on the spot and taking Rogue.

However.

Such an attack was hardly a threat to Chen Ye.

His death sense gave him a subtle warning.

Chen Ye raised his hand, moving faster than the incoming projectiles, and caught the metal pellets in mid-air.

“Magneto, coming in with such deadly intent right away? That’s quite rude,” Chen Ye said, casually playing with the metal pellets in his hand before applying pressure. The pellets were crushed into a soft, malleable mass.

Crushing metal like clay!

In martial arts, this kind of feat required immense internal energy.

Chen Ye, however, achieved this purely with brute strength, an impressive display.

“Here, take your toys back,” Chen Ye said.

With a flick of his fingers, the crushed pellets shot back toward Magneto like sniper bullets.

Magneto immediately activated his powers, attempting to control the deformed projectiles. But to his shock, the force behind them was so immense that he couldn’t control them right away…

When Magneto finally managed to exert full control, the metal pellets had already come within five centimeters of his eyes.

Cold sweat broke out on Magneto’s forehead!

Had he failed to stop them, those pellets would have pierced straight through his brain!

Magneto stared at Chen Ye in astonishment, his eyes filled with wariness.

This person’s strength was terrifying!

“Stop hovering outside. Come in,” Chen Ye said with a calm smile. “I’ve been expecting you.”

Magneto was taken aback.

“You knew I would come?”

“Of course,” Chen Ye replied with a grin. “This young lady is crucial to your plan. As long as she’s with me, you were bound to seek me out.”

Hearing this, Magneto was even more surprised. “You know about my plan?”

“Yes,” Chen Ye nodded.

Magneto fell silent for a moment, then broke the window and floated into the room.

“Who exactly are you?” Magneto asked, his gaze fixed on Chen Ye. “And what do you want?”

“Who I am isn’t important,” Chen Ye said. “What’s important is that I’m interested in your plan. I think we could work together.”

“Work together?” Magneto was confused. “How?”

Chen Ye explained, “Your plan is bound to attract the attention of the X-Men. I can help you deal with those annoying pests and ensure your plan proceeds smoothly.”

Magneto went quiet.

He knew Chen Ye was right.

Given what he knew of Professor X and his team, the X-Men would undoubtedly come to stop him.

“How can I trust you?” Magneto asked.

Chen Ye waved his hand, and Rogue, who had been hiding near the table, was pulled toward him by his telekinesis.

“This girl is my gesture of goodwill,” Chen Ye said.

Hearing this, Magneto stared at Chen Ye for a long moment before finally nodding. “Very well… cooperation it is!”

“Cooperation it is,” Chen Ye echoed with a smile.

“Would you care to visit my headquarters?” Magneto suddenly offered.

Chen Ye smiled slightly. “Sure.”

He had no concerns about Magneto’s invitation.

Poison?

He was immune to all toxins.

An ambush?

His death sense would alert him to any danger.

As for being killed in a direct confrontation…

Chen Ye wasn’t boasting, but without the Phoenix Force, there wasn’t a mutant alive who could defeat him.

No matter how many came, they would all meet their doom!
