GTA Chapter 84

This entry is part 85 of 236 in the series Online Game: God Tier Assasin, I am The Shadow!

After Qin Feng regrouped with Wang Meng and the four others, he had his *Phantom Night Wolf* stay hidden nearby and cast a *Howl* skill.

This provided a boost of 35 points to both attack and defense for all six of them!

Led by Wang Meng, the group of six then entered the *Tower of Divine Authority*.

As they arrived at a circular hall about 50 meters in diameter, a chilling, eerie voice of an old man echoed from all directions.

“Welcome, welcome, my friends from Blue Star…”

“I imagine the arrival of *Forsaken Game* has left you all feeling a bit anxious, hasn’t it?”

“Keh keh keh!”

“This is the *Tower of Divine Authority*. If you manage to pass the challenge I’ve set before you, you’ll earn the right to trade with me.”

“Now… enjoy yourselves!”

As the sinister voice finished speaking, a black humanoid puppet appeared in the center of the hall.

——

[*Obsidian Skull-Crusher Puppet* (Lv20)]

[Rank: Gold]

——

“Whoa, level 20?”

*Steady as an Old Dog* nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw the Gold-tier boss, clutching his priest’s staff nervously.

It was a black humanoid puppet statue.

Though humanoid in shape, its head was split open, and its body was covered in a layer of black, viscous liquid, giving it a terrifying, gruesome appearance.

During the battle, this black liquid would splash around.

When the boss used certain skills, the liquid would ignite, burning everything it touched…

Anyone hit by the liquid needed to cleanse it immediately, or they would burn to death—the burn damage was far too severe for the current healing capabilities of priests.

Fortunately, the priest class came with a basic *Dispel* skill.

To be safe, Wang Meng had called for two priests.

With the *Dispel* skills well-timed, defeating the *Obsidian Skull-Crusher Puppet* shouldn’t pose too much of a problem.

“Let’s go!”

Wang Meng gripped his large shield in one hand and his giant axe in the other, leaping forward with a powerful chop aimed at the puppet’s split head…

Meanwhile, as Qin Feng was preparing to obtain the *Tome of Divine Knowledge*…

In the center of Jianghai City’s ruins, in a hidden alleyway…

*Slap!*

Qin Xiaoyou was struck hard across the face, her head spinning from the blow.

Standing in front of her were three female players looking down on her with disdain.

“What makes you think someone like you deserves to be near President Chen?”

“Exactly! If it weren’t for President Chen taking you in and letting you join the guild, you’d be out of lifespan by now!”

“Stay away from President Chen, or we’ll beat you every time we see you!”

The three women sneered and strutted off, leaving Qin Xiaoyou alone in the alley, her teeth clenched, tears welling up in her eyes.

She had thought that joining the *Knights’ Sanctuary* guild would secure her survival, and that she could work hard to earn more lifespan.

But instead…

Within the guild, factions were everywhere, and cliques dominated!

Guild leader Chen Wuming was simply using her as a tool, hoping to train her up so she could contribute more lifespan to the guild.

She had only spoken to Chen Wuming a couple of times, but it was enough to make other female players jealous.

They dragged her into this alley and slapped her twice as a warning.

One word echoed in her mind: *Bullying*.

In the past, Qin Xiaoyou knew that Qin Feng would always stand up for her if something happened.

But now…

She had severed all ties with him!

Looking around, she realized that there was no one left to help her.

She used to confide in Chu Yan when things went wrong, but now Chu Yan had stayed in the small town, joining a charity organization, and couldn’t possibly help her stand against members of a war guild…

Watching the three female players walk away arrogantly, Qin Xiaoyou felt a pang of regret.

In the past, thanks to her looks and figure, she never lacked for admirers.

Because of this, she had never truly appreciated Qin Feng’s kindness.

But now…

*Forsaken Game* had arrived, and strength was all that mattered!

Without strength, no matter how attractive she was, she was just a pretty vase. Who would bother fawning over her now?

It felt like she had fallen from heaven straight into hell.

The worst part was…

She had signed a three-year membership contract with the *Knights’ Sanctuary* guild.

The good news was that she would be guaranteed survival for those three years.

The bad news was that she would have to endure this environment for three years…

Feeling desperate, Qin Xiaoyou opened her friends list and saw a familiar name—Wang Meng.

Remembering the kind and friendly official player, Qin Xiaoyou clung to him like a lifeline, sending him several messages in quick succession, pouring out her grievances.

She didn’t know if it would help, but she had to try. Maybe Wang Meng would come to her aid?

However…

After sending several messages, she waited for minutes without receiving any response from Wang Meng.

She grew more and more frustrated.

“It’s all Qin Feng’s fault.”

“I said I wanted to cut ties, but did he really have to go through with it?”

“Doesn’t he know that when girls say things like that, they don’t actually mean it?”

“At least I’ll survive for the next three years, and someone will help me grind for levels… Even though I have to give 50% of my lifespan to the guild, I’ll still have some left, and I’ll definitely develop faster than Chu Yan.”

“If I just keep a low profile and don’t provoke those crazy women, I’ll be fine.”

What Qin Xiaoyou failed to realize, however, was that bullying never stopped just because someone backed down.

If being meek was enough to stop bullying, it wouldn’t exist in the world at all.

As for Wang Meng…

When he received Qin Xiaoyou’s flurry of private messages, he was in the middle of a crucial boss fight.

This was, after all, a Gold-tier boss!

And not just any Gold-tier boss—it was level 20, far stronger than anything Wang Meng had faced before!

When the barrage of messages from Qin Xiaoyou popped up, Wang Meng, frustrated, immediately opened his friends list and blocked “Little You.”

Finally, peace and quiet!

Even though Qin Feng had already explained the boss’s mechanics to them, the fight was still tough.

Since Qin Feng was deliberately holding back to avoid showing too much power, he mostly stayed in the background…

Of course.

Even with Qin Feng “taking it easy,” his random, lackluster attacks still contributed to 40% of the team’s total damage!

And that was Qin Feng controlling himself as much as possible…

In reality, if they had encountered this boss under different circumstances, Qin Feng could have wiped it out with a single *Shadow Strike*!

For most of the fight, Qin Feng deliberately positioned himself in a corner, pretending to be trapped by one of the boss’s skills, unable to attack…

His acting was so convincing that Wang Meng and the others were amazed!

“Wow, if I didn’t know better, I’d think the boss was too much for him…”

“Just imagine how tricky this NPC must be if they can adjust the price of items based on how strong someone seems!”

“The stronger the player, the higher the price? That’s insane. But how does the boss know about this?”

Qin Feng simply replied in the party chat, “There are many secrets in *Forsaken Game*. A lot of information is buried within the ruins… Ask yourself, are you really exploring and expanding your knowledge?”

Wang Meng was taken aback. “Ah… wise words indeed.”

As the middle-aged card mage cast his final *Lightning Card*, the bolt struck the *Obsidian Puppet*’s cracked skull, sending electricity crackling through its body.

-1227 (Weak Point Hit)!

The last sliver of the boss’s health bar finally depleted!

The black viscous liquid scattered across the hall evaporated into a dark mist, and the black flames scattered around the room extinguished.

Thanks to Qin Feng’s flawless acting, he didn’t display anything beyond what was necessary.

As the boss’s health hit zero, Wang Meng let out a long breath of relief, completely forgetting that he had just blocked someone’s private messages…

If he didn’t remember, he would never receive any messages from that person again.

But, of course, that didn’t matter.

What mattered now was that when the *Obsidian Skull-Crusher Puppet* was defeated, a sinister laugh echoed from all around them.

Soon after, the gaunt, cloaked figure of a withered old man began to materialize in front of them.

….
