MWM Chapter 138

This entry is part 139 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Interesting!”

Seeing Leo’s transformation, Orochimaru’s eyes immediately lit up with interest.

He had already received some information from Kabuto about the prince of the Fire Country who had been in Konoha for a week. However, the intelligence hadn’t mentioned that he was a ninja, let alone one capable of destroying a summoning giant snake with a single punch.

“Stop dawdling and go rescue them!”

After Leo killed the giant snake with a single punch, he grabbed the snake’s jaw and swung it like a whip towards Orochimaru.

The immense power made Orochimaru’s face change instantly, and he quickly leaped aside to avoid the attack.

The tree trunk, which was about three to four meters in diameter, snapped under the impact, causing Anko, who was standing on it, to fall straight down.

At that moment, Sasuke and Sakura, who were holding Naruto, reacted and rushed to catch Anko.

They were momentarily stunned by the overwhelming visual impact of Leo’s transformation and his punch that obliterated the giant snake, leaving them in shock.

“Are we supposed to keep running?”

Sakura murmured, glancing back at the commotion.

Anko, still enduring the pain from her shoulder’s cursed seal, urged them:

“Don’t dawdle, quickly go to the tower and get reinforcements. Orochimaru isn’t that easy to defeat.”

The prince’s strength exceeded her expectations, but as Orochimaru’s former disciple, she knew all too well how formidable he was. Even such an attack wouldn’t be enough to defeat him.

“It seems I can’t chase after Sasuke until I deal with you.”

In mid-air, as he was about to be spun like a propeller, Orochimaru’s body suddenly shed its skin, leaving behind the original form.

This was his self-created technique, the Snake Substitution Jutsu.

The Snake Substitution Jutsu was a more powerful version of the regular substitution technique, allowing him to instantly replace his body with a snake skin to escape fatal injuries and physical restraints.

Even the Amaterasu, which was said to never extinguish before the target was burned to ashes, could be avoided.

“I’ll cut you into eight pieces.”

After escaping, Orochimaru drew a long sword from his mouth and rapidly advanced towards Leo, stepping on the tree trunk.

Seeing Orochimaru break free from his control, Leo used the snake’s tongue as a whip against the advancing Orochimaru. However, the sword in Orochimaru’s hand easily sliced it into pieces.

“Kusanagi Sword!”

Noticing the sword in Orochimaru’s hand, Leo frowned.

Orochimaru possessed two Kusanagi swords. One, a Chinese-style sword, was extremely sharp, capable of injuring even the supposedly indestructible Ape Demon, and could extend indefinitely with chakra infusion. The other was a Japanese-style sword, also very sharp, and could be imbued with lightning chakra to enhance its lethality. The latter was given to Sasuke later.

Orochimaru’s strength was indeed less than Leo’s, but his skills in physical combat and swordsmanship were formidable. Fighting unarmed was too disadvantageous, and using the weapons from his spatial storage might result in them being sliced apart in a single clash.

Thus, he decisively took out his old magic staff.

“Is that your weapon? It looks like a mere stick.”

Orochimaru sneered upon seeing the wooden staff, then slashed towards Leo’s neck.

“Disarm you!”

Leo lifted his staff, and a blue magical beam shot out towards Orochimaru.

Orochimaru, thinking it was just another special jutsu, didn’t evade the beam, as he didn’t perceive it as dangerous.

He believed he could use the Snake Substitution Jutsu to avoid any real threat, while he could simply cut Leo’s neck with his sword.

However, the outcome was unexpected. When the disarmament spell struck Orochimaru, his hand unexpectedly released the Kusanagi sword, despite his intention to hold onto it.

The Kusanagi sword, less than a centimeter from Leo, flew out of Orochimaru’s hand and embedded itself in a tree several meters away.

“Form Intent—Half-Step Crushing Fist!”

Seizing the moment Orochimaru was stunned, Leo took a step forward and punched him in the abdomen.

Orochimaru’s body was launched like a cannonball, crashing through and breaking several trees before coming to a stop.

“Ugh!”

In his non-human form, Orochimaru opened his mouth, and a new, unharmed Orochimaru emerged from it.

“Strange jutsu, and this punch’s power is almost on par with Tsunade.”

“Seems like you can’t be killed.”

Seeing that Orochimaru had recovered from a full-power Half-Step Crushing Fist using his Snake Substitution Jutsu, Leo couldn’t help but exclaim in awe.

There might be stronger ninjas in this world compared to Orochimaru, but when it came to life-preserving abilities, few could rival him.
