MWM Chapter 170

This entry is part 171 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Are you sure you really don’t need any help?”

In Old Bridge Town, Leo looked at Thor with some surprise.

Thor shook his head:

“No need, Leo. You’ve already helped me a lot. Since my father has banished me here for training, I shouldn’t trouble you any further.

Yesterday, I made quite a few friends over drinks. I can do some odd jobs at a construction site or apply for a job at the library. It’ll give me a chance to read more books and try to see the world from a mortal’s perspective.”

“That works too. Maybe you’ll be able to lift Mjölnir again soon. Here’s my card. If you ever need help, give me a call. We’re friends.”

Leo pulled a business card from his pocket and handed it to Thor.

At this moment, Loki peeked out from behind Thor:

“He’s a fool. I don’t mind your help. It would be best if you could give me some money. When I regain my powers, I’ll pay you back a hundredfold.”

Having often sneaked into Midgard for fun, Loki knew how important money was to mortals. So, despite his previous grudge against Leo for beating him, he shamelessly tried to get some money out of him.

“Sorry, but we’re not friends.”

Leo rolled his eyes and directly rejected Loki’s request.

If it weren’t for Odin and Thor’s sake, he would have dealt with Loki a long time ago. He knew all too well the saying, “If you don’t uproot the weeds, they will grow again with the spring breeze.”

So, lending money to Loki was out of the question.

Unlike Loki, Thor, though not the brightest, was a person of integrity. Helping Thor now meant that in the future, Thor would certainly come to his aid whenever he asked.

If history changed and Thor eventually inherited the throne of Asgard, along with all of Odin’s powers, Leo would gain a powerful and influential ally.

Upon hearing Loki’s shameless request, Thor delivered a sharp elbow to Loki’s stomach:

“Brother, don’t be so disgraceful. You’re going to stay here with me and work hard, reflecting on the mistakes you’ve made.”

Seeing Loki bend over in pain from Thor’s elbow strike, Leo chuckled and shook his head. After bidding Thor farewell again, he and his men drove to the New Mexico airport to board a private plane back to New York.

Having been away for over two months and following a vigorous battle, he began contemplating his next steps.

There was still a month left before the main mission began, and he had earned three months in a smaller world for completing the side quest.

If he could complete some other tasks in the main world during this month, he could gain even more time in the smaller world.

So, he needed to make some choices now.

First, should he stay in the main world for a month, waiting until the main mission was about to start before heading to the smaller world? Or should he go to the smaller world first, use up the three months, and then return to the main world?

Second, if he decided to go to the smaller world, should he choose to further his magic studies in the Wizarding World, continue his training in ninjutsu in the Naruto World, or save all his time for after completing the main mission to use in the Cultivation World?

Lastly, during this month in the main world, should he focus on refining the numerous ninjutsu techniques he had acquired and studying magic, or should he devote all his energy to completing side quests to gain more time in the smaller world?

Each of these choices could lead to different outcomes.

He pondered these questions until midnight before making his decision.

He realized that to make the best choices, he needed to focus on his core objective and choose based on that to achieve his desired result.

What was his core objective?

It was to gain the ability to single-handedly kill eighty percent of the Chitauri during the main mission, achieve the highest completion rate, and acquire the best talent to enter the Cultivation World.

With this core objective in mind, the first option to eliminate was saving all the smaller world time for the Cultivation World.

Because with his current strength, he definitely couldn’t achieve the highest completion rate; he needed to use all available time to enhance himself first.

As for whether to go to the Naruto World or the Wizarding World, after some thought, he decided to prioritize the Wizarding World.

In the Naruto World, he had already obtained the Sealing Scroll and a lot of ninjutsu, enough to study for a long time. Going to the Naruto World now would only allow him to consult the Third Hokage to speed up his ninjutsu learning.

Expecting significant progress in the Naruto World within three months was unlikely unless he obtained the Rinnegan from Nagato.

However, given his current strength, he wasn’t strong enough to take on the Akatsuki organization.

Additionally, although ninjutsu in the Naruto World was powerful, it also consumed a lot of chakra. While his second-form transformation granted him substantial chakra, the Chitauri army was vast, and his chakra could eventually run out.

In contrast, a wizard’s magic never runs out of magical power. When it’s depleted, it is immediately replenished through the wizard’s bloodline. Learning more large-scale, destructive spells would allow him to continue fighting with magic even after his chakra was exhausted.

So, it was clear that dedicating all his smaller world time to the Wizarding World was currently the most suitable choice.

Now, the question was whether to stay in the main world for a month before entering the Wizarding World or to enter the Wizarding World immediately.

Both options were fairly similar. Entering the Wizarding World for three months before returning to the main world for a month would mean that after returning to the main world, he would be significantly stronger.

Conversely, if he stayed in the main world for a month first, he would enter the Wizarding World with even greater strength.

After some consideration, he decided it would be better to stay in the main world for a month and then enter the Wizarding World, as entering with greater strength would allow him to gain more benefits there.

He was already quite powerful in the main world, with hardly any opponents under normal circumstances. He had no intention of provoking the likes of the Ancient One, Odin, or the dimensional demons.

While in the main world, if he encountered any high-value side quests that provided a lot of time in the smaller world, he could also complete those to increase his time to strengthen himself in the Wizarding World.

Yes, whether to spend this month in the main world training or completing side quests to gain more time in the smaller world depended on the situation.

If he encountered side quests that granted a lot of time in the smaller world, he would do them; otherwise, he’d skip the smaller ones.

After all, he had more than just training to do.

For instance, he had promised Wanda a vacation and wanted to visit Kamar-Taj to gather information about the dimensional demons.

Improving his strength was important, but he also couldn’t completely abandon his life and become a training machine.

Sometimes, having a good mood and state of mind was crucial for efficient training.
