“Human, do you know what you’re doing? If you surrender to Lord Thanos now, half of your people can still survive. If you don’t, the entire Earth will be destroyed!”
Realizing that Leo couldn’t understand his language, the Chitauri elder had one of his soldiers take out a small, button-like device and attach it to his jaw.
Now, Leo could finally understand what the Chitauri elder was saying. He simply shrugged in response:
“Then bring it on.”
Regarding Thanos’s ideology, Leo wasn’t entirely opposed to it. Wiping out half of the universe’s population to prevent overconsumption of resources and subsequent collapse—well, in a way, it made sense.
For the universe as a whole, it could even be considered a good thing.
As for stopping the birth of Celestials, that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, either. From a cosmic perspective, having another Celestial, a being that could create life and planets, was not a disadvantage.
But for Leo, things were different.
If half of the universe’s population really disappeared, following the probabilities in the original storyline, Wanda would be among the half that vanished, as would many of his subordinates. He absolutely couldn’t accept that.
He wasn’t a man of grand ideals, nor was he willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good of the universe. He wasn’t even originally from this world.
His only goal was to protect those he loved.

So, the Chitauri elder’s threats were nothing more than empty words to him. If Thanos dared to come, he’d be ready to fight him, too.
“If that’s the case, then you shall die!”
Seeing Leo’s stance, the Chitauri elder realized he wouldn’t back down. He waved his hand, signaling all the soldiers in the command room to attack Leo.
The defense systems in the command room were instantly activated, with dozens of energy cannons targeting Leo simultaneously.
“Eight Gates Release Formation, Gate of View—open!”
Having anticipated this, Leo immediately activated the Sixth Gate. With the Shield Charm active, he dodged the targeting of the energy cannons while enduring the laser gunfire, charging into the Chitauri soldiers and unleashing a massacre.
The combination of the Eight Gates Release Formation and his formidable physical strength allowed him to obliterate all the Chitauri soldiers with just his fists, while also demolishing all the defensive weapons in the energy room.
In less than ten seconds, the entire command room was cleared of threats, except for the Chitauri elder.
“Destroying the mothership means you won’t survive in this universe either. Spare me, and I can pilot a ship to take you back to Earth. I can even request Lord Thanos to forgive you in the future. Lord Thanos is a magnanimous being and would greatly value someone of your talent.”
Seeing Leo’s ruthlessness, the Chitauri elder was terrified. Everyone fears death, especially those in positions of power.
“No need.”
However, Leo was unfazed by the elder’s plea. He stepped forward, grabbed him by the neck, and without hesitation, twisted his head off. He then took the translation device from the elder’s head and placed it into his small pouch.
“This thing is more useful to me than you are.”
He discarded the elder’s head, took out a paper bomb with five explosive seals written on it, and placed it on the control panel in the command room. Then he formed seals with his hands:
“Tandem Paper Bomb Technique!”
“Boom!”
A loud explosion rocked the room as the paper bomb detonated, summoning two more bombs that exploded, followed by four, then eight, then sixteen…
Seeing this, Leo nodded in satisfaction. He left a final remark and disappeared from the mothership using his teleportation scroll.
“Explosions are an art!”
He had no need for the Chitauri elder to pilot a ship back to Earth. Earlier, on the rooftop of Stark Tower, he had already set the spatial coordinates for a Portkey.
So, after the mothership exploded, all he needed to do was activate the Portkey to return instantly.
With the endless explosions from the Tandem Paper Bomb Technique and the ceaseless burning from the Fiendfyre dragons he had released, the mothership wouldn’t last long before it was completely destroyed. And once the Chitauri mothership was blown up, all the Chitauri soldiers and those whale-like creatures would simultaneously lose their lives.
Back on the rooftop of Stark Tower, Leo reappeared amidst a swirl of pages from his teleportation scroll.
“Nothing unexpected happened, right?”
Seeing Nebula and Gamora tied up tightly but noticing Hawkeye’s absence, Leo asked casually.
Li San and Xiao Liu hesitated for a moment before both nodding:
“Boss, almost nothing. But Thor and Tony Stark did show up a while ago, and also, Dr. Banner transformed.”
“Alright, I got it. Keep watch here.”
Leo showed a hint of surprise but didn’t say much more. Instead, he continued to channel his chakra to maintain the Tandem Paper Bomb Technique, ensuring the continuous explosions.
Tony Stark’s presence was expected, given that Nick Fury had convinced him to help track down Gamora and Nebula. With something this big happening in the skies above New York, Tony would naturally rush over immediately.
But Thor’s arrival and Dr. Banner’s transformation were unexpected.
Still, it didn’t matter. He wasn’t the Ancient One, able to see the future, nor a seer capable of predicting everything. As long as nothing interfered with his main mission, it was fine.

That way, even if the few hundred Chitauri soldiers who initially entered New York were killed by others, it wouldn’t affect the main mission of destroying 80% of the Chitauri soldiers alone.
