MWM Chapter 218

This entry is part 219 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

Three days later, at the Li Corporation Laboratory in New York.

“The main focus of our work now is to develop a genetic drug that can regenerate lost limbs. This is Dr. Maya Hansen, who has already done extensive research in this field.”

Leo introduced the long-haired, attractive Dr. Maya Hansen, the newest addition to the Li Corporation’s research team, to key researchers such as Banner, Betty, Serizawa, and Ethan.

Three days ago, after he and Wanda subdued Killian and his group, Leo used the Mind Stone Scepter, the Imperius Curse, Obliviate, and False Memory Charm to thoroughly brainwash everyone.

He also found Maya Hansen still conducting research in the lab.

Maya Hansen was the primary creator of the Extremis virus, but unlike Killian, although she harbored some resentment towards Tony, it wasn’t to the extent of wanting to kill him, and she wasn’t aware of Killian’s plans.

She, like most biologists, simply wanted her research to be recognized and to benefit humanity.

Initially, she collaborated with Killian because of their shared grievances and because Killian had the means to secure funding for her research.

So, when Leo revealed Killian’s evil plans and extended an olive branch to her, she decisively chose to join the Li Corporation, a company genuinely dedicated to the betterment of humanity.

Officially, Maya Hansen led the research, assisted by Banner and others, to find a way to eliminate the adverse effects of the Extremis virus while safely retaining its ability to regenerate lost limbs.

Secretly, the research findings were sent to the base in Sokovia, where Killian, List, and Smith worked to ensure a 100% success rate for the Extremis virus after injection.

Once everything was on track, Leo resumed his previous routine of using shadow clones to practice magic and ninjutsu and completing side quests that could provide small world time.

His strength continued to steadily improve.

And so, 2010 quickly passed, smoothly transitioning into 2011.

During this time, some minor events occurred, insignificant from Leo’s perspective. For instance, there were news reports about Captain America, with footage of him battling a strange man with a mechanical arm on a footbridge.

Captain America had a dedicated memorial in New York, and his story was featured in school textbooks, with related cartoons, movies, and TV shows once captivating the entire nation.

So, after his identity was confirmed by the government, it caused quite a stir for some time.

Leo also learned from Coulson that under Captain America’s leadership, S.H.I.E.L.D., although unable to completely eliminate Hydra agents led by Pierce, had regained its legitimacy.

At least the Security Council and the government’s upper echelons now knew that Pierce and his group were indeed Hydra, and that Nick Fury and his team were the real S.H.I.E.L.D., genuinely committed to maintaining world security.

Of course, this was of little importance to Leo. As long as Hydra wasn’t foolish enough to target him, he had no reason to bother with them.

Unless the panel issued a related mission.

June 2011.

On this day, as usual, after finishing his training, Leo took a walk in the neighborhood with Wanda when he suddenly received a call from an unknown number.

“Hello, who is this?”

Thinking it was a sales call, he was surprised when a familiar voice came from the other end.

“Friend, it’s me, Thor!”

“Thor, you’re actually using a phone now?”

Leo’s face showed a hint of surprise.

The last time he had seen Thor was during the Chitauri invasion of Earth. At that time, even though Thor had spent some time on Earth, he still wasn’t very adept with Earth technology, like mobile phones.

“Jane taught me. I’ve moved to New York and even bought a house. I’m having a celebration party tomorrow—how about coming over for a drink?”

Thor laughed excitedly.

“Moved to New York and bought a house? Did you marry Jane?”

The last time he saw Jane with Thor, Leo knew they were probably back together, but he hadn’t expected things to progress so quickly.

Thor chuckled in response:

“No, we have plans for that, but not just yet.

After finishing her research in Old Bridge, Jane needed to return to her school in New York, and since Loki had run off, there was no reason for me to stay there. I decided to move to New York with Jane.”

After a brief conversation, Leo understood the situation: they weren’t married yet, but they were living together, enjoying a sweet period where they didn’t want to be apart.

The next day, Leo took Wanda to Thor’s housewarming party.

He hadn’t expected so many people at the party. Besides Jane’s colleagues Erik and Darcy, Tony was also there, which wasn’t too surprising since Thor and Tony knew each other.

What really surprised him was the presence of several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, including Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Coulson.

It turned out that after the Chitauri invasion, S.H.I.E.L.D. had maintained contact with Thor in Old Bridge, and they had helped him with his new home in New York.

Because of this, Thor’s impression of S.H.I.E.L.D. had improved significantly.

Leo could only think that S.H.I.E.L.D. had played a smart move; gaining Thor’s favor could prove to be a powerful asset in their fight against Hydra.

“Should I call you Natalie Shostakova, or S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Natasha Romanoff?”

At the party, Wanda looked at Black Widow with a face full of displeasure.

Ever since she saw the news footage of Natasha fighting the Chitauri soldiers last year, she learned from Leo that her good friend Natalie was actually a S.H.I.E.L.D. spy.

Natasha, however, seemed to have anticipated Wanda’s attitude. After all, since Thor was throwing a party, it was inevitable that Leo and Wanda would be there.

She sat down with Wanda on the sofa, holding her hand, and within a few sentences, managed to ease Wanda’s displeasure, restoring their relationship to being close friends once again.

Watching from the side while drinking with Tony, Leo couldn’t help but shake his head.

It was understandable. With Natasha’s high intelligence and emotional quotient, winning over his naive and sweet wife, Wanda, was a piece of cake.

This outcome was something he had predicted long ago.

But he didn’t mind; he loved Wanda for her purity and kindness. If she were like Natasha, with his personality, he wouldn’t have liked her at all.

“Master, the Extremis virus has been perfected.”

At that moment, his phone suddenly rang in his pocket. Upon checking the new message from Uncle Li, a broad smile appeared on Leo’s face.

After spending more than half a year, the Li Corporation’s limb regeneration potion had been officially released a month ago, and today the Extremis virus had finally been perfected to a state with no side effects.

“It looks like it’s about time to visit the new world!”
