MWM Chapter 316

This entry is part 317 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Though you have passed, I, as the Third Hokage, hereby formally declare: Yuan Chuan, my disciple, the hero who saved Konoha—you are the Fifth Hokage! Your face will be carved onto the Hokage Rock, and you will be remembered forever by all future generations of Konoha’s shinobi.”

The Third Hokage, holding Leo’s body, slowly turned and solemnly announced this to all the gathered shinobi.

“Salute the Fifth Hokage!”

“Salute the Fifth Hokage!”

“Salute the Fifth Hokage!”

One by one, the shinobi of Konoha deeply bowed toward Leo, recognizing the Third Hokage’s decision without hesitation.

“It seems like everything’s falling into place perfectly,” Leo thought with a smile, sensing everything that was happening from his spiritual consciousness.

Death? That was never really an option.

The blood flowing from his orifices, the coughing up of blood, and his heart stopping—all of that was part of the act to create the right atmosphere for his claim to the Hokage title.

With his body in Sage Mode, using Rinne Rebirth to revive those who had just died wasn’t as taxing as it seemed—at most, it left him slightly weakened.

What he had done was use the Breath Control technique, converting his external breathing into internal breathing, and suppressing his heartbeat to simulate death.

What surprised him was that the Third Hokage had immediately announced him as the Fifth Hokage on the spot, saving him a lot of trouble in the future.

The Third probably made that decision after seeing his “death” and the immense contribution he made. After all, it didn’t take much effort to carve another face on the Hokage Rock, and the transition from selecting a Fifth Hokage to choosing the Sixth would go smoothly.

This move also solidified his influence and favor with the people.

Had he not faked his death, even after reviving everyone, it likely wouldn’t have been so easy for the Third to directly appoint him as the Fifth Hokage.

“No one would’ve expected me to fake my own death.”

Leo thought with satisfaction. Now, he could resurrect himself sooner than planned.

“**Wingardium Leviosa!**”

In his mind, he silently cast the Levitation Charm, causing his body to float gently out of the Third Hokage’s arms and ascend into the sky.

The sight immediately stunned the grieving crowd of Konoha.

“**Expecto Patronum!**”

As he rose into the air, Leo summoned the Patronus Charm, and a radiant, glowing dragon appeared, circling around him majestically in midair.

“**Meteolojinx Recanto!**”

Next, he cast a weather spell, and the sky over Konoha instantly darkened as clouds gathered, followed by a gentle rain.

“**Lightning Charm!**”

The clouds rumbled, and bolts of lightning began streaking from the dark clouds, striking Leo’s body repeatedly.

“**Meteolojinx Recanto** again,” he whispered to himself, dispersing the dark clouds, revealing a bright sky adorned with a beautiful rainbow of colorful clouds.

Like a divine being, Leo slowly descended from the heavens, his eyes gradually opening as he landed.

His series of dramatic actions left the crowd below completely dumbfounded. Their jaws dropped in awe, as if they could each swallow a whole egg.

Everything that had just happened—Leo’s display of power and abilities—was far beyond their comprehension.

It was the Third Hokage who first snapped out of the stupor, his face lighting up with joy as he looked at Leo.

“What just happened? Have you fully recovered?” he asked.

Leo feigned confusion for a moment before slowly responding, “I don’t know what exactly happened. I felt my soul falling, as if it was heading straight to the underworld. But then, a figure suddenly grabbed me and pushed me back up. He told me I was the chosen one and that it wasn’t my time to die yet. He said I must live and bring peace to the world. Then, I woke up.”

Hearing his explanation, the Third Hokage and Shikaku Nara exchanged glances, unsure of what to make of it.

Truth be told, their rational minds found it hard to believe Leo’s story. Yet, here he stood—resurrected. And they couldn’t believe that someone who had just saved Konoha would lie to them.

“Oh, by the way, I feel really good now,” Leo continued. “And there are many new jutsu in my mind that I didn’t know before. They should be helpful in rebuilding the village.”

Before the Third Hokage and the others could process what was happening, Leo immediately performed the Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu, summoning 2,000 shadow clones.

In the blink of an eye, his clones used Apparition to spread across Konoha, casting Repair Charms throughout the village.

Under the power of these spells, the once-destroyed Konoha, flattened by Pain’s Shinra Tensei, began to rebuild itself at a visible pace.

In less than ten minutes, the bustling, powerful village of Konoha had been restored to its former glory, as if it had never been touched by destruction.

If it weren’t for their tattered clothes and drained chakra, the villagers might have thought that the battle which nearly obliterated Konoha was nothing more than a bad dream.

“Fifth Hokage!”

“Fifth Hokage!”

“Fifth Hokage!”

Excited by the restoration of their home and reminded of Leo’s sacrifice to save them all, the shinobi of Konoha began to shout his name in admiration and respect.

“Fifth Hokage?” Leo acted surprised.

The leader of the Hyuga Clan, Hiashi Hyuga, stepped forward with a smile.

“Lord Chuan, the Third Hokage officially appointed you as the Fifth Hokage earlier, and all of us have agreed and acknowledged it. You are now the Fifth Hokage of Konoha.”

Leo’s face lit up with joy, and he turned to the Third Hokage.

“Teacher, is that really true?” he asked excitedly.

The Third Hokage’s face froze for a moment, but he quickly adjusted and smiled.

“Yes, from this day forward, you are the Fifth Hokage. We’ll organize the Hokage succession ceremony later, and we’ll have the Daimyo officially certify it.”

At this point, it would’ve been impossible to retract the decision. Upon further thought, the Third Hokage realized that while Leo wasn’t his initial ideal candidate, he wasn’t a bad choice either.

After all, Leo was technically his disciple, and he had proven his strength and loyalty to Konoha during the battle. Perhaps, with Leo as the Fifth Hokage, Konoha’s future might be even brighter.

“Teacher, don’t worry. I’ll be a worthy Hokage and carry forward the Will of Fire!” Leo declared with feigned excitement.
