MWM Chapter 321

This entry is part 322 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

The ship slowly descended onto a glacier, where a variety of different spacecraft were parked.

“Wow, it’s snowing!” Wanda exclaimed in amazement as she stepped out of the ship’s door, looking at the heavy snowfall.

If it weren’t for the ships around them and the distant lights of a small town, she might have thought they had landed at the North Pole.

“Looks like we need to change into something more appropriate,” Leo muttered a spell, and his clothes instantly transformed into a leather jacket similar to the style worn by the Ravagers.

Of course, the cold didn’t bother him, but his casual Earth-style outfit stood out too much compared to the Ravagers and bounty hunters moving around in their rugged gear.

“I’ll change too,” Wanda said, tapping her dress, which transformed into a red leather Ravager-style outfit for women.

“Honestly, I’m a little envious of that ability,” Gamora whispered to Nebula, both wearing their usual leather outfits that were already similar to what the Ravagers wore.

“Take the lead, Kakara. Everyone else stays on the ship,” Leo instructed before he, Wanda, Gamora, and Nebula followed Kakara, their temporary guide, toward the small town ahead.

As they approached the entrance to the town, they could hear loud revelry coming from a nearby building. Hundreds of Ravagers were gathered together, drinking and boasting loudly about which planet’s bank or company they had just looted. They were all clutching alien women with bright yellow skin as they celebrated.

Clearly, this was one of those lively places, similar to the rowdy bars back on Earth.

“Why do those women all look the same? Are they from the same species?” Wanda asked, pointing at the yellow-skinned women, curious about their identical appearances and outfits.

From her time spent with Gamora and Nebula, Wanda had learned about the many different species and planets in the universe. For instance, Gamora was a green-skinned Zehoberei, and Nebula was a blue-skinned Luphomoid.

“They aren’t living beings. They’re functional AI female robots produced by the advanced biotech company Augur Corporation. Their bodies perfectly mimic human physiology, but their brains are powered by intelligent chips,” Gamora explained.

“Their figures, appearances, hairstyles, even their personalities and hobbies can be fully customized. As long as their switch isn’t turned off, you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart from a real person. When they were first created, they were marketed as the perfect companions. However, their existence violated the Galactic Prohibition on Artificial Intelligence, so production was shut down, and the early models were sold off on the black market in places beyond legal jurisdiction.”

“I see,” Wanda nodded in understanding. “So this place isn’t just a bar—it’s *that* kind of place.”

Gamora nodded in confirmation.

Kakara, walking ahead, then said to Leo, “Boss, whenever Yondu comes back, he and his crew always come here to relax. If we want to know whether he’s on this planet, we just need to ask the owner.”

“Then let’s ask,” Leo replied, nodding.

As they reached the establishment’s entrance, Wanda suddenly grabbed Leo’s arm, clearly reluctant to let him go inside. No woman likes her husband going into such places.

Leo immediately understood and turned to Kakara. “You go in and ask; we’ll wait out here.”

Of course, Leo had no interest in those female robots. With his power and status, if he wanted a companion, he could find any woman he desired, and they’d be real people, not machines. He didn’t have such eccentric tastes, nor did he appreciate the appearance of aliens whose looks diverged too much from humans.

As they stood outside waiting for Kakara to gather information, a large red-skinned Ravager, standing nearly two meters tall and with a face that looked like it had been through a meat grinder, stumbled drunkenly toward them.

“Hey, you three pretty ladies, wanna come in and have a drink with me? I’ll treat you,” he slurred, a lecherous grin spreading across his face.

Gamora shot him a cold glance. “I suggest you leave before things get ugly.”

She and Nebula, not to mention the immensely powerful Leo and Wanda, could easily kill this Ravager if they wanted to.

But the scar-faced Ravager just laughed boisterously. “Get ugly? Are you talking about your leader, that coward Kakara who only scavenges scraps from private ships? There’s no future with him. Why don’t you come join us? Our boss, Yondu, leads the most ruthless crew in the galaxy. If you make me happy, I’ll get you in with us!”

“Shinra Tensei!” Leo’s left eye activated the power of his Rinnegan, sending a powerful repulsive force that blasted the scar-faced Ravager like a cannonball, embedding him into the wall inside the building. By the look of it, he was probably dead.

“She wasn’t talking about Kakara. She meant me,” Leo said coldly.

Was the Ravager organization made up of good people? Certainly not.

Though they adhered to a moral code forbidding the trafficking of children, and many of them were loyal and had their own values, the reality was that most of them were outlaws who couldn’t live by the laws of their home planets.

They plundered ships, looted treasures, and killed innocent people, using the stolen goods to fund their hedonistic lifestyles. Many of them were ruthless murderers, especially in Yondu’s crew.

Star-Lord, for example, chose to betray Yondu after obtaining the Orb because, despite growing up with the Ravagers, Peter Quill had a good heart. He wanted to be a renowned outlaw in the galaxy, not someone who murdered innocent people after robbing their ships.

He couldn’t stand the brutal actions carried out by Yondu’s crew.

Just because Yondu had shown Peter fatherly love didn’t mean the Ravagers deserved a soft image. The Guardians of the Galaxy and the Ravagers operated under entirely different principles.

So Leo held no particular affection for them. On Earth, he might have just used magic to teach this Ravager a lesson, without such force. But here, things were different.

Of course, he wasn’t a galactic police officer either. As long as they didn’t cross him, he wouldn’t go out of his way to target these outlaws. Besides, the Ravagers had their uses too.
