MWM Chapter 349

This entry is part 350 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Thank you for your patience, everyone. Today’s match features Pegasus Seiya versus Bear Fighter Geki. But before we begin, let’s go over the rules for the match.”

As the lights illuminated the entire arena, the announcer started explaining the match rules.

Soon, to the cheers of the crowd, Pegasus Seiya, donning the Pegasus Cloth, and Geki, wearing the Bear Cloth, stepped into the ring at the center of the stage.

At the start, Seiya was at a disadvantage, with the towering Geki gripping his neck tightly. However, Seiya then unleashed his Cosmo, delivering several dozen kicks in mid-air within a second, shattering Geki’s Bronze Cloth.

The Saint Cloths are known for their incredible defensive abilities, but only if their wearer’s Cosmo is strong enough. If a Saint’s Cosmo is overwhelmed by a much stronger opponent, even the Cloths will break under pressure.

Most Cloths, unless severely damaged, can automatically repair themselves. If they are too damaged to self-repair, they must be taken to the Aries Gold Saint Mu, who specializes in fixing Cloths.

However, if the Cloth’s essential spirit is destroyed, not even Mu can repair it. The only way to restore its spirit would be for the Saint to infuse the Cloth with half of their own blood, though this would likely result in the Saint’s death.

While most Saints have bodies that surpass human limits, they are still human. Losing half their blood or suffering a critical injury will lead to death, just like anyone else.

This was a concern that Leo would never have to worry about. With his body, even losing all his blood wouldn’t be a problem. It would take only a few seconds for his body to fully regenerate, potentially even faster than the blood was lost.

In this way, he wouldn’t have to worry about his Cloth being damaged. In fact, he could use his blood to repair it whenever necessary.

In the end, Seiya secured victory, and the day’s match concluded. To extend the tournament’s global reach, Saori Kido had set a rule that only one match would be held per day, allowing the event to last longer and gain more exposure.

The next day, Hyoga of Cygnus, having returned from Siberia, defeated Hydra Ichi with his Diamond Dust, a freezing technique, countering Ichi’s venomous fangs.

On the fourth day, Seiya was back in the ring, this time facing Dragon Shiryu, who had just returned from the Five Peaks.

As one of the Bronze Saints known as the “Bronze Five,” Shiryu was no ordinary opponent like Geki. He was also the only disciple of a Gold Saint.

The Libra Saint, Dohko, who survived the last Holy War, was known as the most powerful Saint. Many of the current Gold Saints were mentored by Dohko and still respectfully addressed him as “teacher.”

In the early stages of the fight, Seiya was completely outmatched by Shiryu, who wielded the strongest fist and shield. Later, Seiya, heavily injured, baited Shiryu into striking his own shield with his fist, exploiting the principle of contradiction and thus breaking Shiryu’s Cloth.

Despite this, Shiryu easily read the weaknesses in Seiya’s Pegasus Ryusei Ken, dodging it and continuing to dominate the fight.

However, in the end, Seiya emerged victorious after unleashing a stronger Pegasus Ryusei Ken in the face of certain defeat, managing to find a flaw in Shiryu’s punch and striking him in the heart.

“Quick, get the medics here!”

With Shiryu lying motionless and Seiya barely able to stand before also collapsing, a team of medics and nurses rushed in, ready for this very moment.

A few moments later, Seiya was diagnosed with severe injuries and carried away, while Shiryu was pronounced dead.

“Seiya, please, you have to save Shiryu! My teacher told me that if Shiryu’s vital point is hit by another Saint, only a strike of the same force, but from the opposite direction, can restore his heartbeat within four minutes.”

Just as Seiya was about to be taken off the stage, a girl dressed in red stopped the medical team, crying and pleading with Seiya.

Her name was Shunrei, a girl raised by Dohko on the Five Peaks and a childhood friend of Shiryu. She had arrived today to bring Shiryu back to the mountain to visit their ailing teacher.

“Look at him—how is he supposed to throw a punch? Give it up!”

One of the doctors gestured at the unconscious Seiya, trying to persuade Shunrei to let it go.

From the doctor’s perspective, Seiya had at least twenty broken bones and was covered in bruises. Forget throwing another punch—he might not even recover enough to live a normal life again.

Shunrei, hearing this, collapsed to the ground in despair.

But at that moment, Seiya, who had been unconscious, slowly opened his eyes and weakly said, “Let me down.”

The doctors and nurses carrying the stretcher tried to dissuade him, but to no avail, and they reluctantly lowered the stretcher.

At this point, the other Saints who had been watching from the stands all gathered around. While they had fought fiercely in the arena and often exchanged harsh words, they still shared a bond, having trained together as orphans. Deep down, they cared for one another.

Seeing that Shiryu’s life was in danger, they all instinctively gathered near him, even Hyoga, who was usually the most aloof.

The kind-hearted Shun knelt beside Shiryu, cradling him and turning his back toward the wobbling Seiya, softly reminding him, “Seiya, you only have one chance. Make sure you aim carefully.”

“This distance is too close—you’ll punch straight through his heart. Step back three paces before you strike.”

As Seiya prepared to throw his punch, Hyoga stepped in to offer advice.

Seiya retreated three steps, focusing on his Cosmo to strike. But his vision blurred, and he once again collapsed from exhaustion.

“Seiya, wake up! Stay with us!”

The other Saints hurried over to support the fallen Seiya.

“This won’t work. He’s too injured to throw a punch. Let me try to heal him.”

As the Saints grew increasingly anxious and the life-giving dragon behind Shiryu dimmed, a voice spoke out. Someone had quietly approached Seiya.

The Saints turned in surprise, looking up at the unfamiliar Leo.

“Who are you?”

“I’m Seiya’s friend from the Sanctuary. I have some healing abilities.”

Leo smiled as he answered.

“Brother Leo.”

Hearing Leo’s voice, Seiya barely managed to open his eyes.

Seeing that Seiya truly knew him, the others stepped aside.

“Heal! Palm Healing Technique!”

Leo approached Seiya, casually channeling his Cosmo while quickly casting a combination of healing magic and ninjutsu.

In less than ten seconds, Seiya’s eyes shot open, and he leaped up from the ground, brimming with energy.

“I feel completely healed! It’s like I was never injured at all—though I’m really hungry. Brother Leo, I didn’t know you had such abilities!”

“Go help Shiryu regain his heartbeat. There’s less than a minute left.”

Leo smiled, reminding Seiya without offering further explanation.

With his usual carefree nature, Seiya didn’t question it further. He quickly got into position, preparing to unleash his Pegasus Ryusei Ken on Shiryu.
