- MWM Chapter 480
“It seems like everyone’s already here. Where’s Thor?”
While the crowd sipped champagne and chatted, Leo and Wanda suddenly teleported into their midst.
“Hey, Leo! Long time no see! You two always show up so unexpectedly!”
Everyone was startled for a moment, but quickly greeted them with warm smiles. Leo and Wanda’s teleportation ability was well-known to them, but it still managed to catch them off guard whenever they witnessed it in action.
Tony pointed towards the makeup truck parked by the lawn. “Thor’s in there getting ready. He looks a bit nervous today.”
Standing next to him, Rhodey, true to his character, added his two cents. “Who’d have thought a god would be nervous on his wedding day? Seems like getting older doesn’t necessarily mean getting more mature. And a Norse god getting married in a Christian church—he doesn’t find that a bit awkward? Or does Jane believe in Jesus or something?”
“Rhodey, it’s no wonder you’re single. It’s not about believing in Jesus or not; it’s about the romantic setting. For many girls, getting married in a church is all about the romance,” Pepper chimed in, rolling her eyes as she took Wanda’s hand.
Neither she nor Tony believed in Jesus, but they had already planned to hold their future wedding in a church. They just hadn’t set a specific date yet. To be honest, she was a bit envious of Wanda and Jane.
The men glanced at one another—yep, men and women just see things differently.
After a while, Thor emerged from the makeup truck, wearing a black suit and perfectly styled, his face radiating with excitement. When he spotted his Earth friends, he quickly rushed over.
“Thor, didn’t you invite Odin to your wedding?”
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Leo couldn’t help but ask curiously. With his powerful senses, he could tell that neither Odin nor any of the Asgardian gods were present.
Thor sighed. “Of course, I told him. But Father doesn’t approve of me marrying Jane. He thinks that, as the future King of Asgard, I shouldn’t be tied down to Midgard, especially since humans have such short lifespans. Mother is supportive, but she couldn’t come down and oppose Father’s will.”
“Don’t worry, that’s not a big issue. I’ll give you a few special pills later. While they won’t make Jane live as long as you, they can extend her life by a few hundred years. Besides, once you and Jane have a child, I’m sure your father will come around!” Leo grinned, patting Thor on the shoulder.
While Leo couldn’t make an elixir of immortality, he could easily produce a potion that could extend human lifespans and maintain youthfulness by combining the Philosopher’s Stone’s elixir from the wizarding world, experimental results from Orochimaru’s research in the Naruto world, and biotech from both his Li Corporation and the Aoge Group.
Of course, he had no intention of selling or promoting these longevity pills in the human world. For one, he didn’t need the money, and secondly, giving humans, a species prone to war, a longer lifespan wasn’t exactly a wise move.
Such longevity pills were reserved only for trusted friends or loyal subordinates.
And helping Thor wasn’t purely out of friendship—Leo had his reasons. He hoped that once Thor ascended the throne as King of Asgard, he could take the Eternal Flame from Odin’s vault.
One of the Nine Realms connected by Yggdrasil, the World Tree, is Muspelheim—a realm of fire inhabited by fiery demons. The king of these demons is Surtur.
During the war of the Nine Realms, Surtur led his army of fire demons against Odin’s Asgardian forces but was ultimately defeated, losing his most crucial energy core: the Eternal Flame.
The Eternal Flame, akin to the sun, emits infinite light, heat, and energy. Leo believed that this object could significantly enhance his Tsukuyomi World.
“Really? You can make a life-extending potion? Leo, I love you, man!” Thor was so excited he nearly jumped up.
Leo’s company had previously produced a cancer-curing medicine that happened to heal Jane’s illness, for which Thor was eternally grateful. Now, Leo was about to solve another of his concerns.
Though Thor had prepared himself emotionally for Jane’s departure after a few decades, it would be far better to have her accompany him for hundreds of years.
“The bride is ready! Groom, head into the church! Everyone else, please take your seats!” Daisy, Jane’s former intern assistant, called out, and Thor quickly ran into the church while everyone else followed, chatting and laughing.
One side of the church was reserved for the groom’s friends and family, occupied by Leo, Wanda, and all the Avengers.
The other side, meant for the bride’s guests, was filled with Jane’s colleagues and students since her parents had passed away, and she had no close relatives. Occasionally, her guests would sneak glances at the other side, starstruck by the presence of superheroes.
The ceremony began, and with Professor Erik Selvig, who had been like a father to her, guiding her down the aisle, Jane, in her beautiful white wedding dress, walked down the red carpet to the front of the church. There stood an emotional Thor and an elderly priest.
As they watched the wedding ceremony unfold, Wanda wrapped her arms around Leo’s and whispered softly, “Darling, this reminds me of our wedding. It was just as romantic and joyful.”
“Yes, it was. Hard to believe how quickly the years have flown by,” Leo said, patting Wanda’s back as he sighed.
For him, constantly traversing between different worlds, their wedding felt like it happened much longer than just a few years ago.
“Darling, I… I want to have a child,” Wanda suddenly whispered, lowering her voice to almost inaudible levels.
Yet no matter how softly she spoke, it was loud and clear to Leo’s ears.
Stunned for a moment, Leo gently patted Wanda’s head and replied with a smile, “Sure.”
His response clearly took Wanda by surprise. She looked up at him with wide eyes, full of emotion. “I… I thought you wouldn’t agree!”
Leo had always said he didn’t want to have kids so soon, leading Wanda to think he might not like children. But seeing other mothers in their neighborhood cradling their babies, she couldn’t help but long for their own little one. So she decided to try and ask today, though she expected to be turned down.
She never imagined Leo would agree so readily.
“Why wouldn’t I? Before, I was concerned that having a child might bring danger, but now, with our strength, we can protect our child safely,” Leo explained with a smile.
Honestly, he would have preferred to wait longer until his power reached a multiversal level and he could deal with Chthon, ensuring complete safety. But since Wanda wanted it, and he now had the Tsukuyomi World, where he could move Wanda and their child if needed, having a child was indeed feasible.
So, he simply agreed.
Sitting behind them, Pepper overheard their conversation and realized that Leo and Wanda were talking about having a baby. Envy flashed in her eyes, and she pinched Tony sharply.
