MWM Chapter 65

This entry is part 66 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“To hold a place among the Avengers, standing alongside superpowered heroes, she really has some skills.”

Watching from above as Black Widow nearly took down his trusted lieutenant, Leo showed a hint of admiration.

Though Black Widow’s physical prowess and combat skills weren’t a match for Li San’s, she expertly utilized all her advantages and various high-tech gadgets in battle.

“Lightning Style: Paralyzing Needles!”

Forming hand seals, Leo unleashed a D-rank Lightning Style jutsu, causing electricity to envelop his hands. Augmented by chakra, he swiftly descended from the building, heading towards the escaping Black Widow.

His speed was so great that Black Widow didn’t notice his approach from above. With a quick warning, as she looked up, Leo placed his hand on her forehead.

“Zzzzz.”

Electricity surged through her, causing her to convulse before passing out.

The Paralyzing Needles jutsu, though a common D-rank technique, didn’t have the destructive power of Kakashi’s Chidori. It simply channeled high-voltage currents through the hands to paralyze opponents in close combat, enough to knock out Black Widow.

Grabbing her by the collar of her flexible black combat suit, Leo walked vertically down the wall and handed her to Li San.

“Take her to the interrogation room first!”

“Yes, boss.”

Carrying the unconscious Black Widow to the neighborhood’s interrogation room, Li San couldn’t help but marvel at his master’s growing strength.

Though he always viewed his master as incredibly powerful, it was within a comprehensible range. Now, his master had become unimaginably strong, defying the laws of physics with abilities like fire-breathing and electricity manipulation. Sometimes, Li San even wondered if his master was human at all.

However, he never asked about it because it didn’t matter. Without his master, he would have died long ago. His life and skills were given by his master. Even if his master were a demon from hell, he’d follow him to tear angels apart.

His life before meeting his master was darker than hell itself.

“Hmm, why is Tony calling me at this hour?”

After handing Black Widow to Li San, Leo noticed a missed call from Tony on his phone. Thinking for a moment, he called back.

Tony was supposed to come tomorrow to detoxify his body. The sudden call must mean something had changed.

“Tony, what’s up?”

“There’s something I think you should know. That S.H.I.E.L.D. director is here again, and he’s pretty badly injured. He insists on talking to you. He wants intel on Hydra agents within S.H.I.E.L.D. and says you can name your terms.

I didn’t want to deal with him, but I thought you might be interested. I haven’t given him your details. If you don’t want to see him, I’ll kick him out!”

Tony’s words on the phone made Leo’s expression shift to one of mild surprise.

He hadn’t expected Nick Fury to be attacked by Hydra so soon. He thought Fury would outwit Hydra for a while before things came to a head.

“Bring him to my company’s rooftop. I’ll meet him there.”

He couldn’t push Nick Fury to desperation. If Fury called in Captain Marvel, things would get troublesome. Captain Marvel’s power was enough to decimate an entire fleet, something he couldn’t contend with now.

Moreover, if S.H.I.E.L.D. were destroyed, leaving Hydra unchecked wouldn’t benefit him either. He needed S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra to balance each other out, keeping them too busy to bother him so he could focus on his own plans.

“Good evening, Miss Natalia!”

When Leo arrived at the interrogation room after the call, Black Widow had been tightly bound and doused with water to wake her up.

“Mr. Leo, doing such perverse things to your new neighbor, be careful I don’t tell Wanda during our shopping trip tomorrow!”

Seeing Leo enter, Natasha wiggled in her bindings and gave a seductive smile, seemingly unfazed by her situation.

In reality, her mind was racing, contemplating various strategies.

Firstly, she was certain that the person who took her down was Leo. She had only heard his voice and then was knocked out by an electric shock.

Secondly, Leo’s personal strength must be formidable. Otherwise, he couldn’t have approached her undetected and subdued her so easily.

Lastly, given Leo’s strength and the skills of the security head, it wasn’t wise to act rashly now. She should gather intel first and act when they were both gone.

The ropes binding her were a trivial matter for a top spy like her.

“Don’t joke like that; I don’t want Wanda to misunderstand. Alright, untie Miss Natasha.”

Leo shrugged and instructed Li San, who was preparing various torture devices.

Hearing her real name, Natasha’s pupils contracted, not because she was being untied, but because Leo called her Natasha, not Natalia.

“So you know me.”

Natasha stood up, flexing her wrists.

No wonder she was exposed despite leaving no flaws; they already knew her identity.

“No, I just guessed. I was bluffing, and you fell for it.”

Leo spread his hands.

Natasha stiffened momentarily, having assumed they knew her details when Leo used her real name.

But she quickly composed herself. She realized Leo had significant knowledge about S.H.I.E.L.D., or he wouldn’t know her name and attempt to bluff her.

“Actually, I was joking. I got your information from Hydra. Let’s go; your boss Nick Fury wants to see me. You’re coming along.”

Leo waved at Natasha and walked out.

Watching his back, Natasha hesitated before following.

“What do you mean you got my information from Hydra?”

Catching up to Leo, she pressed close to him, asking enthusiastically.

Hydra had been destroyed by Captain America during World War II. Everyone knew that. Why did Leo claim to know about her from Hydra?

She felt Leo was hiding crucial intel she needed to uncover.
