Chapter 164: One Punch, One Summoning Beast!
Boom!
With a deafening explosion, a colossal hell crab materialized, spewing foamy bubbles from its mouth. Jiraiya and Fang Ye immediately dodged the attack.
Jiraiya used chakra to cling to the wall, while Fang Ye leapt high, driving his right fist into the wall.
Crash!
The impact from Fang Ye’s punch created a massive hole in the wall. He gripped the jagged edges of the rubble to steady himself.
“What terrifying strength…” Jiraiya muttered as he watched the casual ease of Fang Ye’s punch. His mind flashed to Tsunade, the woman whose punches could also shatter walls effortlessly. But Fang Ye’s calm demeanor hinted at an even greater power.
In the next moment, Konan emerged from the foam. The oil coating her body had been washed away, allowing her to transform into paper again. She reappeared behind the Animal Path.
“Kill them!” the Animal Path commanded, forming a series of hand seals. The enormous hell crab leapt forward, swinging its massive pincers at Jiraiya and Fang Ye.
“Wild Lion’s Mane Jutsu!”
Jiraiya’s white hair elongated rapidly, forming the shape of a lion’s head that entangled the hell crab, restraining its movements.
Hiss!
The crab thrashed violently, struggling to break free.
“Hah!”
Fang Ye, still clinging to the wall, sprang into action. His speed was lightning fast.
Boom!
Without holding back, Fang Ye delivered a devastating Serious Punch. His fist, as large as a boulder, struck the enormous crab. The impact resounded like an explosion.
Crash!
The hell crab’s massive body shattered into fragments, reduced to nothing but a heap of mangled flesh.
“What?” The Animal Path’s eyes widened in shock. He hadn’t expected his summoning beast to be obliterated by a single punch from this unknown ninja.
Seizing the moment, Jiraiya used the Wild Lion’s Mane Jutsu again, entangling the Animal Path.
“Nagato, what happened to Yahiko?” Jiraiya demanded, his voice filled with intensity.
The Animal Path remained calm despite being restrained. “That person is dead,” he said slowly, as if indifferent to the subject.
“You’ve changed, Nagato,” Jiraiya said, his tone tinged with sorrow. His killing intent surged as he gazed at the Animal Path. “The Nagato I knew once sought to protect his comrades. Now you’ve become unrecognizable.”
“I’ve grown,” the Animal Path replied, his voice devoid of emotion. “This land has endured endless wars and countless deaths. I was once a child, but now I’ve become an adult.
“Sensei, you’re just a mortal, but I’ve transcended mortality.”
“A god, huh?” Fang Ye interjected, his voice icy.
“Exactly. I have risen above humanity to become a god,” the Animal Path declared.
“What is it you’re trying to accomplish?” Jiraiya asked, unable to fathom the transformation. “Why are you gathering the Tailed Beasts? What’s your goal?”
“You’re all going to die anyway, so I’ll tell you,” the Animal Path said, his tone calm and measured. “By using the Tailed Beasts, I can create a forbidden technique capable of annihilating an entire nation in an instant.”
“That would only lead to more chaos!” Jiraiya exclaimed, horrified.
“I’ll distribute this technique to every nation. Fear of destruction will compel them to avoid war. Only through such pain can the world grow. As a god, it’s my role to guide this growth.”
As he finished, the Animal Path used a substitution jutsu to escape Jiraiya’s restraints.
“Damn it…” Jiraiya muttered, glaring at the Animal Path now perched on a high ledge. He turned to Fang Ye.
“Kid, I need time to prepare my Sage Mode. Can you buy me some?”
Fang Ye gave a confident nod and launched himself toward the Animal Path without hesitation.
“What an impatient kid,” Jiraiya said with a faint smile. Biting his wrist, he smeared blood on his face and clasped his hands together, focusing his chakra.
“Annoying,” the Animal Path muttered. He moved his left hand, summoning a massive lizard that swallowed Fang Ye whole before vanishing.
“Invisibility, huh?” Fang Ye stood still, scanning his surroundings.
Howl!
The Animal Path wasted no time, summoning a hellish three-headed dog. The monstrous creature roared and charged at Jiraiya with its gaping jaws.
“Stay where you are!” Fang Ye shouted. Kicking off the wall, he launched himself like a missile.
Serious Punch!
Boom!
Fang Ye’s punch struck the three-headed dog, engulfing the area in smoke.
“It’s not done yet. Be careful, Jiraiya-sensei,” Fang Ye warned, his eyes locked on the swirling smoke.
“Got it.” Jiraiya nodded, his expression just as serious.
Howl!
Howl!
Howl!
Three more roars emerged from the smoke. The three-headed dog had split into three separate dogs, attacking from multiple directions.
“Die!” Fang Ye punched one of the dogs, instantly obliterating it. His speed was unmatched, and he effortlessly sent the remaining dogs flying.
But the situation escalated. The dogs began splitting further, multiplying into more heads. Within moments, they fused into a single monstrous form with seven or eight heads, its massive body towering over the battlefield.
“Is this Kiba’s nightmare pet?” Fang Ye quipped, unfazed. He even found the situation worthy of a joke.
“Kid, let’s lure it into a narrow space for one-on-one combat!” Jiraiya suggested before leaping away.
Fang Ye followed closely behind. The two quickly disappeared into an alleyway, with the monstrous multi-headed dog in hot pursuit.
“Watch out!” Jiraiya shouted as he released his hand seal.
Working in tandem, Fang Ye and Jiraiya unleashed punches and kicks, decimating the majority of the hellhound’s heads.
“I’m done playing,” Jiraiya said, placing a hand on Fang Ye’s shoulder. In the blink of an eye, the two vanished from the alley.
“Did they run away?” The Animal Path emerged from the lizard’s belly, scanning the chakra remnants in the air.
“Think again,” Fang Ye’s voice echoed from behind him. The Animal Path spun around to see Fang Ye standing there, arms crossed.
“Now!”
The lizard opened its mouth, ready to swallow the Animal Path again.
“You underestimate me,” Fang Ye said coldly. In an instant, he appeared atop the lizard’s back.
Serious Punch!
Gathering his strength, Fang Ye delivered a crushing blow to the lizard’s head. The lizard exploded on impact.
“What terrifying power,” Jiraiya murmured, glancing at the demolished creature and the wreckage left behind.
Undeterred, the Animal Path summoned another beast—a massive bird with an enormous mouth that dove toward Jiraiya.
“Watch out!”
