OKSTS Chapter 42

Chapter 42: No Enemies Meet Without a Clash!

“The zombies in Forbidden Zone No. 3, like the zombies in Zone No. 2, can infect others.”

“The difference is that while the zombies in Zone No. 2 spread through a virus, the zombies here spread corpse poison!”

“If you’re bitten or scratched by a zombie, you’ll be infected with corpse poison and eventually turn into a zombie yourself. Professor Zhou has probably mentioned this to you already, but I want to emphasize it again—be extremely cautious!”

“If you do get infected, head to the mortuary immediately and find that Taoist priest called Uncle Nine. He has a way to detoxify the corpse poison!”

“Additionally, while zombies are your primary threat, you should also be especially wary of the female ghost.”

“At least zombies are tangible, and you can see and touch them. The female ghost, however, is much more terrifying for those of you who don’t understand Taoist techniques. She has no physical form, making it impossible for you to fight back!”

“So, once inside the zone, avoid venturing into desolate areas at night to steer clear of ghosts!”

“These spirits only come out at night and don’t dare to harm people during the day.”

On the bus, Instructor Yan Tai was tirelessly explaining the dangers of Forbidden Zone No. 3.

No one thought his warnings were excessive.

Everyone could tell that although Instructor Yan was strict in training, he genuinely cared about his students.

While Yan Tai was passionately giving his warnings, Fang Ye discreetly took out his phone and sent a text to Su Ziqiu.

“Once we enter the zone, immediately ask around for directions to the mortuary. Let’s meet there.”

After sending the text, Fang Ye put away his phone, leaned back in his seat, and closed his eyes to rest.

His plan’s first step was to steal the body of Master Ren before he fully transformed into a zombie.

Initially, the best time to seize the body would have been to dig up Master Ren’s coffin directly from his grave.

Fang Ye knew the plot too well to overlook this.

The reason he decided to head to the mortuary instead was because, based on his knowledge from the past month’s lessons, the timeline of the story had already progressed to the point where Master Ren’s coffin was stored at the mortuary.

So, Fang Ye had no choice but to intercept it there.

As for whether this would offend Uncle Nine…

Fang Ye didn’t care.

In his plan, there was no need to rely on Uncle Nine at all!

Upon receiving Fang Ye’s text, Su Ziqiu felt a bit delighted. She couldn’t resist turning to glance at Fang Ye, who was sitting a few rows back.

Seeing him with his eyes closed, seemingly asleep, her mood soured again!

What a blockhead!

Couldn’t he send a few more messages?

Frustrated, Su Ziqiu bit her lip and replied, “Got it!”

After sending her reply, she turned back around and secretly watched Fang Ye’s reaction.

However…

Fang Ye had no reaction!

It seemed like after sending his message, he couldn’t be bothered to check for a response…

He didn’t even bother reading Su Ziqiu’s reply!

This made Su Ziqiu furious!

“Hmph!” she huffed and turned away, deciding not to pay him any more attention.

“What’s wrong, Ziqiu?” her roommate, sitting next to her, asked when she noticed Su Ziqiu’s annoyed expression.

Su Ziqiu quickly put on a smile and said, “Nothing!”

“Oh…” The roommate, looking hopeful, asked, “Ziqiu, once we’re in the zone, can I stick with you?”

Clearly, her roommate assumed Su Ziqiu would choose the simpler mission and hoped to rely on her.

Su Ziqiu hesitated. “Sorry, Huihui, I’m planning to take on the harder task of killing zombies in Zone No. 3. It’ll be too dangerous if you come with me.”

Huihui’s eyes widened in shock. “Why? Ziqiu, zombies are terrifying! You should really think about this—it’s way too risky.”

“I’ve already made up my mind,” Su Ziqiu replied firmly.

Despite being annoyed with Fang Ye’s aloof attitude, she wasn’t foolish enough to let petty emotions affect her judgment or make things difficult for him when it came to important matters.

Several hours later.

Around noon, the bus finally arrived at Forbidden Zone No. 3.

Just like the entrance to Zone No. 2, the entrance to Zone No. 3 was heavily guarded by the military.

Around the perimeter, numerous soldiers could be seen standing guard or patrolling the area.

Fang Ye even spotted several people dressed in traditional Taoist robes stationed there as well.

One student couldn’t help but ask, “Teacher, why are there Taoist priests here?”

Yan Tai explained, “Forbidden Zone No. 3 isn’t very stable. There have been instances where ghosts have escaped the zone and harmed people. That’s why there are Taoist priests stationed here for protection.”

“These Taoists are the real deal!”

Hearing this, many of the students were amazed.

They now understood why the government had placed soldiers to guard the entrance to the zone.

If the zones were left unattended and something dangerous escaped, it could cause a major disaster.

At this point, the bus had pulled into the parking lot within the base.

Yan Tai called out, “Alright, everyone off the bus. Let’s head to the cafeteria and get something to eat. The zone will open at 2 PM.”

The students quickly got off the bus.

When they entered the cafeteria, Fang Ye noticed that many of the good seats had already been taken by other students.

Judging by their uniforms, they were from Wushen Academy (Martial God Academy).
