RWWOKS Chapter 164

This entry is part 165 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

When Fang Bo returned to the barricades, allies quickly gathered to congratulate him.

“Incredible! I didn’t expect Victor to fall by your hand.”

“Hurry, open the chest and see what treasures you get!”

“Don’t forget us if you find anything good!”

“Big guy, I’ve got an epic weapon here if you’re interested.”

“Yeah, I’ve got an epic too! Not that you’re too picky about attributes, right?”

As everyone surrounded Fang Bo, Yaoyao eagerly tried to approach and offer her own congratulations. Unfortunately, her small stature left her jumping up and down in frustration, barely able to reach over the group of taller people. It almost made her want to take out her gun and clear a path.

In stark contrast to the celebrations on the Sand side, the Rock faction wore dark expressions, having just lost one of their top fighters.

Their brief lead in points had evaporated instantly; after all, in the survival forest trial, Victor had contributed heavily to Rock’s top ranking by slaying many enemies. But with his death, Rock dropped to second place. It was a stinging setback.

What’s more, that puppet-wielding bastard had used their own tactics against them—a naked insult to the Rock faction’s pride.

While others fumed, Cang Yue alone remained indifferent, simply eyeing the powerful figure that had felled Victor, curious about how he’d acquired such high-quality gear.

“I’d be interested in discussing things with him sometime,” he thought.

Despite their varied reactions, Fang Bo paid them no mind. Casually ruffling Yaoyao’s hair—eliciting a wide smile from her—he opened his kill chest.

[You are opening Victor’s kill chest.]

[You receive 2,200 storyline points.]

[You obtain Elite Mechanized Core IV.]

[You receive three Small Batteries.]

**Item: Elite Mechanized Core IV**

**Grade: Legendary**

**Type: Energy Core**

**Energy: 45 units**

**Durability: 200/200**

**Installation Requirement: Medium or Small Mechanized Drive**

**Effect: Quick Charge**

**Source: One Punch Man**

**Description: Never underestimate its energy output.**

**Quick Charge (Passive Skill): Instantly discharges all stored energy, increasing attack power by 10%.**

This core was a key component in Victor’s power setup. Cyborgs possess unmatched early combat strength, effortlessly dispatching opponents of equal standing, but their energy cores often limit them, requiring careful management. A high-powered core without the spirit to back it up can result in unfulfilled potential, as with Victor. Only when spirit and core match can the cyborg’s power truly peak.

But Fang Bo’s interest lay elsewhere: this core could serve as a perfect power source for his puppet creations. Once he mastered the art of human puppet crafting, this core would be ready for immediate use.

**“45 energy units require equal spirit levels for smooth control.”**

**“This little thing should still be useful in a second-level difficulty world.”**

Putting his new items away, Fang Bo’s eyes settled on the storyline points.

**Storyline Points: 10,217 (3,000 owed)**

With his points breaking the ten-thousand mark again, his mood brightened considerably. As far as he was concerned, the second exam had already ended, and now it was time to plan his next moves.

“I still need more weapons—filling out my arsenal is a priority.”

Turning a Fate Coin in his hand, Fang Bo considered his options. The second round of the Chunin Exams had concluded two and a half days ago. Sixteen participants had advanced, including well-known characters like Gaara, Temari, Sasuke, Naruto, and Lee. Among the eleven others were the strongest Reincarnators, except for Yaoyao, who barely scraped through.

The third round’s public matches were set for thirty days later, where dignitaries from the five great nations would come to watch. But Fang Bo and the other Reincarnators cared little for such attention unless it promised high-tier missions.

Yaoyao, eager to complete as many tasks as possible, had vanished immediately after the exams. Some speculated that she had a way to conceal her presence entirely, leaving her no risk of being followed.

Fang Bo’s plan was to leave Konoha temporarily and return later to shift the balance of power once more. Just as he was about to depart, an unexpected figure crossed his path: Kakuzu of the Akatsuki, whom Fang Bo had convinced to join the upcoming battle against Konoha.

“I’m here under the guise of a traveling merchant. For the next month, I’ll be staying in Konoha,” Kakuzu informed him, confirming his commitment to their alliance in Konoha’s downfall.

Fang Bo didn’t expect Kakuzu to risk his life for their cause; Kakuzu’s involvement would likely stay within the boundaries of self-gain. Nevertheless, Fang Bo saw an opportunity to propose a larger scheme.

If Kakuzu had reneged, he would have simply enlisted Kimimaro for support, using Karin’s connection to secure a favor from Orochimaru. However, since Kakuzu had come in person, his greedy nature made him an ideal partner for an ambitious heist.

For example, the Scroll of Seals passed down through Konoha’s generations—a repository of powerful jutsu. Each one would fetch a handsome price on the black market, not to mention the potential for Kakuzu to master some of the forbidden techniques.

Kakuzu’s interest ignited at Fang Bo’s mention of the Scroll of Seals, and soon, a hidden task was triggered.

[Hidden Quest Triggered – Code 14552: Scroll of Seals!]

[Quest Summary: To ensure the cunning Kakuzu puts forth his full strength, something irresistibly alluring is needed. The Scroll of Seals makes the perfect bait.]

[Quest Objective: Locate the exact position of the Scroll of Seals.]

[Hint: Only the Hokage’s building holds the secret to this location.]

To acquire the Scroll of Seals, Kakuzu will inevitably clash with Konoha’s Anbu members. This could very well attract other powerful figures from the storyline. At that point, he’ll have no choice but to go all out.

With Kakuzu’s involvement, the success rate of the Konoha Destruction Plan would increase. Trading a few storyline coins and an epic weapon he couldn’t even use for the assistance of a top-tier powerhouse was a worthwhile exchange. Not to mention, Fang Bo now had the hidden quest, which at the very least could grant him some attribute boosts. Who knew—he might even gain access to the forbidden techniques on the Scroll of Seals, though he probably couldn’t learn them himself.

With Kakuzu on board, Kimimaro’s involvement could be postponed, and perhaps that promise could be applied elsewhere. Maybe it could be used to hunt a powerful character from the storyline? As he considered his options and ran through a mental list of strong Konoha characters, Fang Bo used his hover acceleration to leap over a nearby river.

By now, he’d entered the borders of the Land of Rain, aiming to seize the legendary sword of the Second Hokage, the Sword of Thunder God. This blade, one of the sharpest tools in the Naruto world, was said to wield boundless lightning power—though he took that description with a grain of salt. Fang Bo assumed it wasn’t as potent as Orochimaru’s Kusanagi Sword.

The Kongō Nyoi, wielded by Hiruzen Sarutobi, was strong enough to slice through the Shinju with ease, yet it had been damaged by Orochimaru’s Kusanagi. If there were to be a ranking, the Kusanagi Sword would top the list among non-Six Paths weapons. Still, the Sword of Thunder God was an epic weapon at the very least, making it a worthy addition to Fang Bo’s King’s Treasury.

As for why he tracked it to the Land of Rain:

**Fate Detection (1): Find a fate-blessed target.**

By simply knowing the wielder’s name, Fang Bo could track the Sword of Thunder God across any distance. To fill his treasury quickly, he couldn’t afford to spare his Fate Coins.

The current wielder was Aoi Rokushō, a former Chūnin of Konoha who’d coaxed his student into stealing the sword before defecting to Amegakure as a Jōnin. The Fate Detection target, Aoi Rokushō, was connected to Fang Bo’s line of sight by an invisible thread. Following it, he would soon encounter his target.

Caution was essential in the Land of Rain, the Akatsuki’s stronghold, home to many powerful individuals he couldn’t yet match. Fortunately, Aoi Rokushō wasn’t Akatsuki material. Even wielding the Sword of Thunder God, he was at best a Tokubetsu Jōnin—a step below characters like Anko, easily defeated by Naruto and Sasuke with Chidori and Rasengan.

“A Tokubetsu Jōnin is still a Jōnin. Hopefully, he’ll help me complete my mission.”

[War Mission Two: Defeat 18/20 enemy village ninja]

[War Mission Three: Defeat 1/3 Jōnin]

Fang Bo intended to complete both missions during this journey. With enough luck, he might even accomplish something more challenging.

For now, he focused on the task at hand. According to Fate’s guidance, he was closing in on his target. By dusk, there was a high probability he would make contact.

In a small town in the Land of Rain, Aoi Rokushō was hosting a feast for his friends, celebrating the successful completion of their latest mission. One drunken friend raised his glass, saying, “Once I get my pay, I’ll buy her a big diamond ring. This time next year, we’ll probably be married.”

“Congratulations,” Aoi replied with a sly smile, secretly thinking of the man’s beautiful girlfriend. She had left quite the impression; he couldn’t wait to see her again. After escorting his friend home, he figured he might indulge in a little thrill of his own.
