RWWOKS Chapter 30

This entry is part 31 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

**Chapter 30: Another Hidden Quest Appears**

The next morning, the first phase of the mission concluded, right on schedule.

[Main Quest: Career Path (Completed)]

[You have received 120 story points.]

[You have received a Basic Naval Combat Skill Scroll.]

**Basic Naval Combat**: Improves your combat ability on a ship’s deck.

Just like in the Attack on Titan storyline, completing the main quest earned Fang Bo story points and a reward item. This time, he received a scroll for basic naval combat.

Whenever he fought on the deck, Fang Bo always felt a bit out of his depth. Unless he used his 3D maneuver gear, all he could really do was stand still and shoot. But now that he had learned the basic naval combat skill, that unsteady feeling reduced by 80%. If he could level it up, his combat power on the sea might even surpass his strength on land.

Thinking about skill upgrades, Fang Bo glanced at his current story points.

**Story Points**: 1,165

Compared to the *Attack on Titan* world, this time’s rewards were much greater. Of course, the dangers he faced had also increased by several times.

In the reincarnation space, rewards and risks were always proportional. There was no such thing as gaining benefits without taking action.

If there were, you’d better be very careful.

After waiting quietly for a few minutes, likely for the other reincarnators’ calculations to finish, the second phase of the main quest was successfully released.

[Main Quest: Bounty (Activated)]

[Quest Overview: Increase your bounty and prove your strength to the East Blue.]

[Quest Requirement: Achieve a minimum bounty of 1 million Berries within 15 days.]

[Warning: You are not allowed to leave the East Blue region!]

[Warning: Slaughtering civilians may result in unknown consequences!]

[Warning: Your bounty is directly tied to the level of pursuit by the navy!]

The familiar three warnings made Fang Bo realize that this mission wouldn’t be easy to survive.

That’s right, survive, not complete. The morning newspaper had just arrived at the Black Cat Pirates’ ship.

Due to their recent activities, the bounties of the core members had increased significantly.

**Captain Kuro**: Bounty increased by 2 million Berries.

**Hypnotist Jango**: Bounty increased by 1 million Berries.

The others also saw their bounties increase to varying degrees. For Fang Bo, it was his first time receiving a bounty from the navy.

There was an image of him using his 3D maneuver gear, clearly showing his disguised, cold face, with a brief bounty description below:

**Jason the Brutal**, third-in-command of the Black Cat Pirates, known for the cruel murder of Captain Morgan from the 153rd Navy Branch, and the mastermind behind multiple pirate raids. Initial bounty set at 5 million Berries, dead or alive.

“Boss, congratulations!” Paul said excitedly. As a pirate, what greater honor was there than having your name spread far and wide?

Fang Bo was equally pleased. He had already met the mission’s requirement of a 1 million Berries bounty. Now, he just had to find a way to increase it further.

To achieve the grand goal of upgrading his five attributes, he needed to maximize his mission rating. If completing hidden quests awarded stat points, he’d prioritize those. If not, he could focus on other rewards.

For most reincarnators, triggering hidden quests was a matter of luck. But for Fang Bo, as long as the main quest allowed it and his strength was sufficient, he could trigger as many as he wanted.

At that moment, all the officers of the Black Cat Pirates had been summoned to the captain’s office, where Kuro announced his decision to retire.

“Captain, we can’t do this without you,” Sam said, feigning concern, though it was clear he was on the verge of laughing. With Kuro gone, only Jango, the first mate, was qualified to take over as captain, leaving the position of first mate vacant.

Who would take that seat was a big question.

Sharing the same thoughts was Butchi, the big brute, who, like Sam, seemed oblivious to the future of the Black Cat Pirates. Without their strongest leader, could they still dominate the East Blue?

First mate Jango worried about this very issue. Meanwhile, Fang Bo was focused on the hidden quest that had just been released by the system.

[Reincarnator No. 14552 has triggered a hidden quest: Kuro’s Retirement.]

[Quest Requirement: Help Kuro escape his bounty from the navy.]

[Warning: Enemy reincarnators have already intervened in this quest!]

This quest would undoubtedly see Kuro taking action himself, so completing it shouldn’t be too difficult. However, considering the system’s principle of never letting things go smoothly, the real challenge would likely come from the navy-aligned reincarnators.

“In other words, the system believes those reincarnators could potentially level the playing field.”

Realizing this, Fang Bo’s mood turned slightly grim.

Judging from the overall power levels in this storyline, there was no single reincarnator strong enough to match Captain Kuro alone. This meant the enemy reincarnators must be working in a group.

Or perhaps they were part of a fixed, organized team.

The image of a man with a mechanical glove flashed in Fang Bo’s mind.

Honestly, Fang Bo wasn’t eager to face those guys. Elite teams trained by large organizations always had hidden trump cards. Their combat prowess would far surpass that of someone like Old Cat.

But at this point, worrying wouldn’t change anything. Fang Bo had to figure out how to defeat his enemies.

“Maybe I can use some special powers,” Fang Bo mused as he turned his gaze to Jango, the first mate.

Upon closer inspection, he realized that hypnosis might be even more useful than he had initially thought. If used well, it could produce unexpected results.

This upcoming naval battle would be the perfect chance to test his theory.

……

On the horizon, a massive warship was slowly approaching.

“Lieutenant Commander, we’ve spotted the target.”

Morgan saluted swiftly, though he couldn’t help but glance at the pink-haired girl beside him.

This girl was something else—she had actually convinced their superior to take personal action. Who knew what kind of price she had paid to make that happen?

His gaze wandered up and down her slender, curvaceous figure, and a peculiar smile crept across the face of Ax-Hand Morgan.

“Have they finally been found?” Ripa slammed the table decisively and ordered, “Notify everyone, prepare for battle.”

The brave and commanding figure before them was a stark contrast to the man who had been so fearful of fighting just days ago. No one could tell what had happened to him.

Meanwhile, in the cabin, the remaining four members of the SNEST Squad had gathered.

“Xiao, this mission hinges on you,” said Randy, the team’s chief tank. His strong defensive abilities were the key to the squad’s success in countless battles.

The man he referred to, Xiao, was the cold sniper who was meticulously cleaning his rifle. His damage output was incredibly high, and in naval combat, his abilities could offer unimaginable advantages.

To take down the storyline boss, the squad needed his lethal firepower, making him the key to their victory.

However, the true core of the squad was Olson, who sat calmly at the edge of the bed.

Their primary goal in this mission was to obtain the skill scroll, “Silent Step,” which would inevitably drop from the boss. According to information from “above,” Silent Step could be combined with one of Olson’s existing skills. If the fusion was successful, it would create a high-tier movement skill in the B-class category.

Even in a difficulty level two world, that would be an impressive skill—enough for Olson to dominate a difficulty level one world with ease.

Glancing at the silent team leader, the sniper suddenly spoke coldly, “I advise you not to be too optimistic. The effect of the item has a time limit.”

“Relax, relax.” Randy hefted his tower shield with a grin, trying to reassure the group. “We’ll take care of the target perfectly before the lieutenant commander snaps out of it. When promotions are on the line, I’m sure the gracious Lieutenant Commander Ripa will forgive us.”

It was a good plan, but the sniper remained a realist, pouring cold water on it: “Don’t forget, there are reincarnators aboard the *Black Cat* as well.”

“You mean Jason the Brutal?”

Randy shrugged dismissively, recalling the name, a condescending smirk spreading across his face. “Never heard of him. I’d wager he’s just a lucky rookie.”

At this, Olson suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze intense like fire, instantly silencing Randy.

“Luck?” Olson rebuked harshly, unimpressed by his teammate’s arrogance. “Do you really think luck alone puts someone on the same battlefield as us?”

“But he’s backed by the local forces—”

Randy tried to defend himself, but Olson shot him a cold look and abruptly left the room.

He had no patience to argue with an idiot. After this mission, Olson planned to either request a team reassignment or kick Randy out of the squad altogether.

Sensing the tension, the young boy who had been quietly munching on buns mumbled softly, “Randy, don’t forget we’re on a massive warship with overwhelming numbers, and we’ve got Lieutenant Commander Ripa on our side.”

In other words, the gap between the local forces might not be as significant as they thought, meaning they needed to be wary of that unknown reincarnator.

“Uh…” Faced with undeniable facts, Randy was left speechless. More importantly, he didn’t want to upset the boy in front of him.

The kid was their healer, the reason Randy had survived so many dangerous situations. Only a fool would risk angering the team’s lifeline.

“Alright, I get it. I’ll go apologize to the captain later.”

Randy, ever pragmatic, wasn’t one to let personal feelings affect an upcoming battle. Survival came first, and even though he was secretly dissatisfied with the team relying so much on one person, he understood the high-ranking decisions were out of his hands. Quitting the team wasn’t an option either, or he’d be hunted across worlds by stronger players.

Seeing Randy back down, the boy smiled shyly. “Hehe, I knew you’d come around, Randy.”

Randy’s mood lightened as he watched the boy’s sunny expression.

“You kid…”

Boom!

A sudden, deafening explosion shook the ship, throwing all their plans into disarray.
