**Chapter 42: Germa Detection Device IV**
In the end, both parties agreed on the next course of action.
Reiju couldn’t defy her father’s will, so throughout the entire process, she wouldn’t offer any direct help.
To save his brother, Fang Bo would have to rely on the Black Cat Crew. In exchange, Reiju promised to help repair his goggles as quickly as possible.
For Germa, masters of cutting-edge technology, fixing the goggles was a simple task. By the end of that night, the newly repaired goggles were delivered to Fang Bo.
However, the item could no longer be called just “goggles.” It was more like a specialized detection device.
[Name: Germa Detection Device IV
Quality: Excellent
Category: Accessory
Durability: 50/50
Attribute Enhancement: Perception +2, Spirit +1
Requirements: Perception 14, Spirit 12
Effect: Information Perception]
[Origin: Cyberpunk Edgerunner]
[Equipment Review: It can clearly tell you when it’s time to run.]
[Information Perception (Active Skill): Consumes 2 Spirit points to sense an enemy’s strengths and weaknesses.]
The attribute boosts had increased slightly, and even the description of the active skill had changed. The equipment review was particularly interesting.
Curious, Fang Bo used Information Perception on the woman in front of him, and the data he received was entirely different from before.
Vinsmoke Reiju (Poison Pink)
Attack Tendency: High
Attribute Focus: Spirit
Traits: Exoskeleton, Poison Absorption
Threat Level: Highly Dangerous
The first section displayed the character’s name and title, which was a basic requirement. The previous police goggles could do this as well.
As for “Attack Tendency,” it likely represented the target’s potential stance.
Since his brother’s safety was still unsecured, Reiju could attack at any moment. If the mission failed, both sides would immediately become enemies, which was why her attack tendency was marked as “High.”
“Attribute Focus” indicated the target’s strongest attribute. It didn’t display specific numbers, but it told you what type of strong opponent you were facing.
Clearly, the technology in the pirate world differed greatly from that of the cyberpunk realm. The former emphasized more intuitive calculations, much like how powerful individuals used Haki to sense their opponent’s strength.
There was no need for excessive numbers; a brief sense was enough to tell if the opponent was strong or not.
Aside from these issues, the biggest change after the equipment upgrade was the addition of “Traits” and “Threat Level Assessment.”
The Threat Level was easy to understand—it compared the auras of both sides to assess whether the enemy was someone you could potentially defeat.
It didn’t determine the outcome of the fight but was a way to gauge the relative strength between you and the enemy, giving the user a general idea of the opponent’s power.
The real treasure, however, was in the Traits section. Previously, the goggles only displayed basic information, but after the upgrade, they could now reveal specific details.
Exoskeleton: Through modifications with the “Lineage Factor,” the user gains superhuman physical abilities, with +5 to Constitution and doubled defense.
Poison Absorption: The user can freely manipulate poison, either releasing or absorbing it, and possesses a special immunity to toxins.
These were two excellent traits, and together they made Reiju both durable and difficult to deal with, a true master of attrition.
If he could avoid it, Fang Bo didn’t want to become enemies with such a powerful opponent. The Grand Line and the four seas were two entirely different worlds, incomparable in every sense.
“Thank you.” Fang Bo nodded to her as the massive sea fortress slowly sailed away.
Fang Bo knew that next, he would face pursuit from Germa 66, the once-dominant force of the North Blue.
Reiju’s condition was that Fang Bo escort her brother to a specific sea, where she had arranged for people to help Sanji escape.
Before reaching that point, they would have to sail for about two days. Whether they made it to their destination safely would depend on the strength of the Black Cat Crew.
“Hurry, get on board!” Fang Bo commanded the crew below.
To silence any complaints, Reiju had sent 18 genetically modified warriors as a gift to thank the Black Cat Crew.
These soldiers had excellent combat skills. Although their attributes were slightly inferior to elite pirates, they still represented a formidable force.
Zango, pleased with the gift, had no reason to refuse. The hypnotist captain especially liked these robot-like, loyal soldiers.
Twiddling his hypnotic ring, Fang Bo muttered to himself with a smile, “Once this hidden mission is over, I can take care of that pirate admiral, and then the East Blue will belong to the Black Cat Pirates.”
With such a large force, even if the Navy had more Reincarnators, Fang Bo was confident he could defeat them one by one.
At this point, it wasn’t even a matter of individual strength. The difference in forces was too great; the strength of one or two people wouldn’t make a difference.
“I hope Ryuno won’t disappoint me.”
Late that night, Fang Bo finally slept soundly.
But when he woke up the next day, an armed ship suddenly appeared on the horizon.
“The enemy is here.” Fang Bo’s heart tightened, and he silently ordered everyone to prepare for battle.
The enemy ship moved quickly. Before the pirates could even gather on the deck, the massive ship had already pulled up alongside the Black Cat’s vessel.
Three burly soldiers leaped over. The leader had an overwhelming presence, so intense that even Captain Zango subconsciously held his breath.
That oppressive aura was something Zango had only felt from Captain Kuro before. No doubt, Germa soldiers were truly terrifying—any one of them was fearsome.
“No, the other soldiers aren’t this terrifying,” Fang Bo thought as he scanned the group. It was clear that only the leader was special.
He quickly used Information Perception, and his guess was confirmed.
Gary (Cyborg Type II Special Unit)
Attack Tendency: High
Attribute Focus: Strength, Agility
Traits: Genetic Modification
Threat Level: Highly Dangerous
As expected, this man’s threat level was extremely high, though Fang Bo still needed more information to fully assess him.
The muscular man stopped a short distance from the group, crossing his arms over his chest like a robot, and spoke in a cold, emotionless voice: “Hand over Germa’s prince, and you will receive a generous reward.”
As he spoke, the other soldiers brought over three large sacks filled with dazzling gold.
This was the reward for the Black Cat Crew, as finding Sanji had been a long-standing mission backed by the World Government.
Fang Bo flipped through the bags of gold and clapped his hands with a smile. “As expected of Germa, always so generous. Bring our prince up.”
At the vice-captain’s command, a disheveled Sanji was soon dragged up to the deck.
Seeing this, all the soldiers, including the cyborg Gary, knelt in respect.
Despite being disregarded within his own family, Sanji was still a Vinsmoke, and to these brainwashed soldiers, he was akin to their master.
Even though they lacked control over their actions, it was certain that these soldiers could never harm a Vinsmoke.
This gave Fang Bo room to be creative.
“Damn you!” Sanji roared, breaking free from his chains and landing a powerful kick to Cyborg Gary.
Sanji was furious. He despised everything related to his family, or else he wouldn’t have joined forces with that scumbag Jason.
Initially, Sanji hadn’t planned on fighting, but after discovering the deal between his sister and Fang Bo, he reconsidered.
He could ignore many things, but not Reiju, who had always treated him the best. With Sanji’s kind nature, he couldn’t just leave her behind.
Moreover, Fang Bo had stirred the pot, saying things like, “If you escape, Reiju will definitely come back and be punished by your father.”
These words clouded Sanji’s mind, and in a moment of confusion, he agreed to join forces with Fang Bo.
Sanji unleashed a series of rapid attacks, forcing Gary to retreat. It looked like he had the upper hand, but the gap in their abilities quickly became apparent.
Gary had taken several of Sanji’s kicks head-on, barely retreating a few steps to dissipate the force, showing that such attacks were merely a scratch.
Furthermore, Gary’s strengths lay in power and agility, not defense, which only highlighted how formidable he truly was.
“Master Sanji, you shouldn’t have attacked me,” Gary muttered, his eyes slowly filling with a mad glint.
While he couldn’t kill a Vinsmoke, breaking Sanji’s limbs wasn’t out of the question.
Gary’s orders were to take Sanji back, and any obstacles—whether from others or even Sanji himself—he had full authority to handle.
With the ferocity of a wild beast, Gary charged at Sanji and landed a powerful punch to the young prince’s chest. Fang Bo could see the dazed look in Sanji’s eyes.
It was clear that he was nearly knocked unconscious by a single blow.
“Huh?” Gary was puzzled. He had expected that punch to knock Sanji out cold.
No matter. If one punch didn’t work, a second would.
**Bang!**
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, and Gary felt a sharp pain in his chest. Before he could react, a blinding white light temporarily robbed him of his vision.
A single holy light bullet had saved Sanji, marking the start of the ambush.
In the distance, pirates climbed aboard the enemy ship using ropes, and within seconds, a fierce close-quarters battle erupted.
Captain Zango led the charge, determined to finish off the enemy as quickly as possible.
His hypnosis technique was perfect for this kind of battle, easily inducing mass sleep—ideal for overcoming superior numbers in assault operations.
As for the powerful cyborg Gary, he was left to the rest of the crew to handle.
“Paul!”
A loyal subordinate unsheathed his demon blade, ready to strike Gary, but was intercepted by two slightly weaker cyborgs.
“This is such a hassle,” Fang Bo muttered, wasting no time in summoning a giant. He had no intention of experiencing Gary’s cannon punches firsthand.
As for the remaining elite soldier, he left him to Sam and Butch—the two fools would be enough to deal with him.
