RWWOKS Chapter 95

This entry is part 96 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Chapter 95: The Arrogant Sound Hashira

With the arrival of reinforcements, Fang Bo had expected the coming of an intense battle.

But to his surprise, the thick-browed, big-eyed Tengen Uzui—the Sound Hashira—arrived in Yoshiwara and his first priority was… to look for his wives. And not just one, but three of them!

Seriously, who marries that many wives? Just because he could enhance his body with Breathing techniques, did that give him the freedom to be so reckless?

Fang Bo couldn’t help but grumble in his mind. Nearly dying against Upper Moon Six should’ve made Uzui reflect on his abilities. Had his strength grown at all over the years? Had he trained seriously?

Just as Fang Bo was silently complaining, a system notification appeared, triggering a new mission.

[Reincarnator No. 14552 has triggered a side mission: Rescue the Hostages.]

[Mission description: Daki has kidnapped Tengen Uzui’s wives, along with many innocent people. You must rescue them.]

[Mission objective: Free all the hostages.]

[Hint: You may want to start your investigation from Kyogoku House.]

He hesitated for a brief second before turning to Uzui with a serious expression, saying, “There’s no time to waste. Nothing is more important than rescuing the hostages.”

“. . . So where do you think we should start?” Uzui almost choked on Fang Bo’s sudden shift in tone.

He had been about to say he could handle things alone, but Fang Bo suddenly became more determined than him. Was this guy’s wife also among the captives?!

“Of course, we start from the source,” Fang Bo explained simply. Demons who kidnapped people were bound to hide them in a dark, hidden place.

“We’ll split up. You go distract Upper Moon Six, and I’ll help you rescue the hostages.”

In other words, *I’ll handle the rescue while you go risk your life.* Fang Bo wasn’t keen on facing the full threat of an Upper Moon demon on his own.

After explaining the demon’s splitting abilities, Fang Bo noticed Uzui’s casual attitude and issued a stern warning: “Be cautious. The demon has deadly poison attacks, and one wrong move could be fatal.”

Though Fang Bo tried to impress upon him the seriousness of the situation, the self-assured Uzui clearly wasn’t taking it to heart.

“Relax, I’ve built up a strong resistance to poison since childhood. Don’t forget, I’m a ninja.”

There was a sense of nostalgia in Uzui’s expression as he spoke about his past profession.

It made sense when you thought about it—being a ninja was his true history, and slaying demons was just a job. If the time came when he could no longer fight, Uzui would gladly retire early and enjoy his life with his three wives.

However, the more confident Uzui appeared, the more uneasy Fang Bo became. Being a ninja might sound cool, but unless he was from the Hidden Leaf Village, there wasn’t much assurance there. He probably didn’t even come from a ninja village as strong as Sonic the Hedgehog’s speed-ninjas!

He didn’t know any actual ninjutsu—what kind of ninja just throws explosive balls at people all day?

With that thought, Fang Bo couldn’t help but miss his old ninja teammate. If only they had a Sharingan user on their side, taking on a fast demon like Gyutaro would be much easier. But on the other hand, Fang Bo didn’t want to share his rewards with anyone else.

Since Uzui was confident, Fang Bo decided to wait and see what happened. If he acted quickly and freed all the hostages, Uzui would hopefully not die at the hands of the demon siblings.

With their plan decided, the two of them split up.

The demon siblings had long sought to hunt down a Hashira, believing it would earn them praise from Muzan. So as long as Tengen Uzui made an appearance, the demons would undoubtedly chase after him without hesitation.

Ordinary humans were mere fodder compared to the energy provided by a powerful fighter.

Before long, the courtesan Daki sensed something was amiss.

When she caught sight of a shadowy figure moving outside, she instantly recognized the culprit—the man who had humiliated her.

Those three people she killed yesterday didn’t seem like the type to use hypnosis. Now she understood—the real mastermind was the tall man.

“Dare to call me ugly? Let’s see how you—”

Under the moonlight, Uzui’s handsome profile stunned Daki into silence.

She loved beautiful humans. They always tasted so much better.

Considering how exceptional this particular prey was, she could graciously forgive him.

“I’ll eat your limbs first, then your organs. As for that pretty face of yours, I’ll make sure to preserve it nicely.”

The sharp, high-pitched laughter of Daki echoed in the quiet night sky.

“It’s time to begin.”

Spending 60 story points, Fang Bo summoned his shikigami, Jorogumo. The giant spider got to work immediately, digging a tunnel.

“Alright.” Jorogumo nodded and used her six spider legs to easily carve through the ground.

Spiders were natural burrowers, and considering Jorogumo had managed to break through the maze of the Swordsmith Village, this was nothing in comparison.

In less than five minutes, she had successfully dug a tunnel into a damp, dark underground cave.

Following his shikigami, Fang Bo immediately noticed the ribbons hanging all around the cave.

Daki’s strange ability allowed her to create sentient ribbon clones, which could imprison humans inside and keep them as food reserves.

The hostages they needed to rescue were most likely hidden in this underground chamber, located directly beneath Kyogoku House.

The close proximity allowed the demons to feast on humans whenever they desired.

Although these clones were fairly strong, each carried part of Daki’s strength. However, in front of Fang Bo’s Yorichi Zero equipped with dual epic weapons, it didn’t make much difference how strong they were.

“Let’s split up,” Fang Bo instructed briefly as his strongest puppet entered the scene.

What seemed like sturdy ribbons were effortlessly sliced apart by Yorichi Zero’s epic-grade Nichirin Blades, freeing hostages with each swing.

“Bold of you!” one of the ribbon clones, possessing its own consciousness, finally appeared.

However, before it could even utter a threat, it caught sight of Yorichi Zero—a sight that made it tremble in fear.

*Bang!*

A single shot from Yorichi Zero’s gun struck the ribbon, slowing its movements. In the next second, both Nichirin Blades slashed down mercilessly.

[Yorichi Zero’s slash hits. The target suffers 65+47 critical damage.]

One strike, two critical hits—the damage dealt to demon-kind was off the charts.

This terrifying amount of damage was equivalent to that of a C-level offensive skill.

But the best part? The slashes had no cooldown. Before the ribbon clone could escape the attack range, the next hit was already coming.

[Yorichi Zero’s slash hits. The target suffers 60+30+12+10+8 critical damage.]

In his haste, Fang Bo delivered five slashes—two of them critical strikes and three normal hits. But even these were enough to finish off the relatively weak ribbon clone.

The poor ribbon clone barely uttered a single line before being cleanly sliced in half, with no chance to retaliate.

At this moment, Fang Bo was much stronger than when he first entered the world of *Demon Slayer*. Initially, it took the combined effort of three people to handle a Lower Moon demon. Now, he could easily take down the entire Natagumo Mountain on his own.

While his improved attributes played a role, most of his strength came from mastering puppet control.

Without Yorichi Zero and the two epic-grade Nichirin Blades, there’s no way he would’ve dared to enter Yoshiwara alone. Even the Sound Hashira didn’t have the strength to single-handedly defeat an Upper Moon demon. If Fang Bo couldn’t offer support, that arrogant guy would be doomed to die.

As Fang Bo quickly wrapped up his battle, Jorogumo had already freed all the hostages, including the three voluptuous wives of the Sound Hashira.

[Side Mission: Rescue the Hostages (Completed)]

[You have earned 150 story points.]

[You have gained Basic Swordsmanship LV3.]

The notification of mission completion helped ease the drain on his story points, and the swordsmanship scroll was particularly useful.

A puppet master’s abilities were directly reflected in their puppets.

In simpler terms, if you were a complete novice at close combat, don’t expect your puppet to perform any fancy moves.

To become a powerful puppet master capable of dominating the battlefield, Fang Bo had to develop himself as broadly as possible—not just in attributes, but in basic skills too.

During his time in the *Demon Slayer* world, he had poured so many resources into learning puppet control techniques that, despite completing several missions, he still hadn’t been able to accumulate a significant amount of story points.

Summoning his shikigami was also costly because of the extended time span in this world, forcing him to resummon them before almost every battle.

“No wonder Ryuuno was so desperate, insisting she had to complete her Fate mission,” Fang Bo mused. He now understood the struggles of the Onmyoji girl.

Despite how powerful the summoner’s path appeared, it was definitely not something a poor person could afford to pursue.

“Thank you so much.” One of Uzui’s wives—the eldest and most well-endowed—ran over to express her gratitude. She seemed visibly shaken, but was doing her best to hold it together, likely because so many others were relying on her.

“It’s nothing. I was just carrying out a request,” Fang Bo replied, briefly explaining the situation.

Upon hearing that her husband was battling an Upper Moon demon, the eldest wife bowed repeatedly, her large chest swaying as she spoke, “Please, I beg you to help Lord Tengen. Leave things here to me.”

“Alright,” Fang Bo agreed, then left the underground cave with his shikigami.

With this part of the trouble resolved, only Gyutaro and Daki remained.

Without the ribbon clones to hold him back, Daki’s strength should increase. However, Fang Bo was confident that he could decapitate her.

As for the problem of needing to sever both siblings’ heads at the same time, he had a unique plan in mind.

“If I can decapitate Daki ahead of time, preventing her from reattaching her head, that would be the same as killing both siblings.”

“Jorogumo’s venomous sack ability can suppress cell regeneration. Once I cut off her head, there’s no way Daki could survive.”

But reality was always harsher than expected.

When Fang Bo arrived at the scene, he was greeted by the sight of Tengen Uzui lying in a pool of blood, missing one arm.

Despite Fang Bo’s warnings, the Sound Hashira had ultimately been no match for the sibling demons.

Not only had he failed to defeat them alone, but he had been taken down in under ten minutes.

To make matters worse, Gyutaro had already noticed Fang Bo’s presence.

Now, whether he liked it or not, he had no choice but to fight!
